With two Emmy nominations — for her haunting turn in Hulu’s post-apocalyptic political thriller “Paradise” and her scene-stealing comedic performance in HBO Max’s “Hacks” — Nicholson has evolved from industry favorite to awards season darling.

Jake Schreier is set to direct the X-Men reboot and, in a new interview, teased the film in the works.

Marvel boss Kevin Feige confirmed that Schreier would helm the film, and although the filmmaker can’t give too many details on the movie, he did discuss the comic book superheroes.

“Without going into too much—really almost any detail,” he told The Playlist. “What I can say is, it’s just inherently interesting and complex material.”

Schreier noted that “the core idea of what X-Men is involves complexity,” adding, “It’s an incredible opportunity with super interesting characters and [much] internal conflict. These characters are wrestling with their identity and place in the world—that’s inherently interesting and complex material.”
