While “9-1-1” fans were relieved that Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) was saved before her crazed kidnapper (Abigail Spencer) could kill her, Thursday night’s episode still ended on a sad note as Buck (Oliver Stark) watched best friend Eddie (Ryan Guzman) leave for Texas.

Of course, Guzman isn’t actually leaving the series, as showrunner Tim Minear has already made clear, but Eddie’s absence will be felt in L.A. as he tries to reconnect with his son Christopher (Gavin McHugh) in El Paso.

“We will be in Texas for a bit. The end goal is to get Eddie back to the 118, but we’ll see what happens,” said Guzman, who said he doesn’t know the timeframe for Eddie’s expected return.

New York-based streaming network FilmRise has acquired the Fast (free ad-supported streaming) rights to Canadian comedy series “Kim’s Convenience,” following an agreement with Canadian production company Thunderbird Entertainment, FilmRise announced on Wednesday.

The show’s five seasons, which are currently available by subscription VOD on Netflix, will have their own dedicated channel in addition to populating on some of the platform’s other channels globally. FilmRise plans to offer the show to Fast channels on IMDb TV, Pluto, The Roku Channel, Samsung TV+, the FilmRise Streaming Network and others.

Based on Ins Choi’s award-winning play of the same name, “Kim’s Convenience” tells the story of a Korean-Canadian family that runs a convenience store in Toronto. The show first premiered in 2016 on CBC, and gained a global following after debuting on Netflix in 2018. The cast includes Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Andrew Phung, Andrea Bang, Jean Yoon, Simu Liu and Nicole Power.

TBS knows they have a huge event coming up, the 25 year anniversary of Seinfeld. The classic adult comedy about nothing become a massive hit a couple of seasons after it premiered on July 5th of 1989. Now TBS will be celebrating the show that they have kept on air since it ended 16 years ago. Starting June 30th the network will start airing what they consider to be the 25 best episodes in the normal time slot. This will end on July 5th, the actual day marking the 25th series anniversary. Here are the episodes and when they air.

Monday, June 30

Rob Thomas has a habit of creating television shows I love. As habits go, that seems to be a good one, but for some reason, these shows that he creates that I love never seem to last long enough. There’s something brewing in the love life of Two and a Half Men’s Alan (Jon Cryer). But is that something of positive value? It’s rare that this CBS comedy allows Alan much happiness when it comes to long-term relationships, so it’s not all that surprising there might be something that will wind up getting between Alan and his latest tryst. What is surprising is the past that the woman is hiding, which seems to have something to do with another woman. It’s enough to make me curious about just what the heck is going on in this potentially messy situation.

The Gary Unmarried and Nip/Tuck actress will appear in two episodes of the CBS comedy as a love interest of Alan’s (Jon Cryer) who has a surprising past, TVLine has learned exclusively. Her character, also named Paula, debuts on Dec. 5.

Additionally, Diane Farr (Rescue Me, Numb3rs) is set to appear in Marshall’s second episode (airing Dec. 13) as Rachel, a woman with ties to Paula.

Sunday (Nov. 18) is the 20th anniversary of the "Seinfeld" episode "The Contest." It's now considered one of the very best episodes of the series -- if not of any sitcom ever. Joanna Garcia has joined the cast of Animal Practice, NBC's upcoming vet-set single-camera comedy that stars Justin Kirk and a monkey. You know, that one. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Garcia will replace Amy Huberman, one of NBC's many abrasive blonds of pilot season. Garcia's had a string of one-season shows — Welcome to the Captain, Privileged, Better With You — and her most recent pilot, Oh Fuck, It's You, didn't get picked up. I know I’ve said this before, but I have to say it again:

I really enjoy how the writing for CSI has been embracing the culture of Las Vegas recently. While previously I mentioned it in regards to the number of wedding chapels in Vegas, this week "Dune and Gloom" took us outdoors for some desert racing.

Did anyone else think that Kathy Veck was behind the bomb from the moment Paula Marshall took her helmet off? Bravo, CSI, you got me, I fell for it! If you’re not familiar with the trick I’m talking, about allow me to clarify: In most crime shows if you have three actors playing suspects and two of the actors are unknown and the third actor you know by name and can list shows and movies they have done... the third actor is the bad guy.

Actually, the writing in this episode was really solid.
