Daniel Zirilli, a prolific director, producer and writer of action films and more than 200 music videos including the Rolling Stones’ “Voodoo Lounge,” died April 28. He was 58.

His death was announced by his family. No cause was disclosed, but an Instagram message posted by his daughter Talise Zirilli last weekend indicated that he had been missing since April 24.

Born November 13, 1965, Zirilli founded Popart Film Factory at age 24 after graduating from Pepperdine University in Malibu. In the subsequent years, he would direct and writer more than 30 feature films, most in the action and thriller genres. He was a producer on more than 85 films.

The 2023 BET Awards will celebrate 50 years of Hip Hop this Sunday, June 25 starting at 8 p.m. Et. Viewers wanting to catch Culture’s Biggest Night can catch the show on BET and will be simulcast on Paramount on BET, BET Her, Comedy Central, MTV, MTV2, Pop, TV Land, Nickelodeon and VH1 in the U.S. BET+ and Paramount+ will be streaming the show to subscribers.

International viewers can watch the award celebration on BET Africa and BET France and will be available to watch on My5 and Sky On-Demand in the UK, as well as BET Pluto in the UK and Brazil.

Juneteenth, which falls on June 19, commemorates the fall of slavery in the United States.

It celebrates the anniversary of the order made by Major General Gordon Granger on June 1965 that proclaimed freedom for slaves in Texas. The order was actually made two years after Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation.

In a tweet Monday, former President Obama explained it as the “delayed but welcome news of freedom reaching the enslaved Black folks in Galveston, Texas.” In 2021, President Biden made Juneteenth a federal holiday.

ABC News Studios’ Emmy-winning series Soul of a Nation will honor the 50th anniversary of hip-hop with a one-hour special called Hip-Hop @ 50: Rhythms, Rhymes & Reflections – A Soul of a Nation Presentation.

Master P, Mc Lyte, Fat Joe, The Lox, Coi Leray and others will be featured in the program, to be hosted by Angie Martinez, the veteran radio personality known as The Voice of New York. Martinez will executive produce the special alongside ABC’s Catherine McKenzie.

Hip-Hop @ 50 will air on ABC on June 19 at 10 p.m. Et. It will stream on Hulu the following day.

Master P took to Instagram last week to pay tribute to Stephen “tWitch” Boss after his death at age 40.

The rapper, whose real name is Percy Robert Miller Sr., wrote, “These are crazy times we are living in, you can be smiling one day and Gone the next!” the Daily Mail reported.

Rise and grind is a great morning mantra for Snoop Dogg and Master P, whose breakfast cereal Snoop Loopz has been stripped of its name following interference from an unnamed competitor cereal company. Distributed through the pair’s food label Broadus Foods, the marshmallow-filled cereal was supposed to be the first step towards Snoop and Master P’s breakfast industry takeover.

Five months after Master P’s daughter, Tytyana Miller, died, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office has confirmed the cause of her death.

According to the official coroner’s report released on Tuesday, Miller died from fentanyl intoxication on May 27, confirming reports that the 25-year-old had died as a result of drugs.

Master P first took to Instagram on May 29 to announce that his daughter, whom he shares with ex-wife Sonya C, had died.

The former actress was one of Master P’s nine children, eight of whom he shares with Sonya C, including Romeo, 32, Itali, 23, Inty, 29, Vercy, 30, Hercy, 20, and Mercy, 16. The 52-year-old music mogul is also dad to 25-year-old daughter, Cymphonique, from a previous relationship.

In July, Master P sat down with Gayle King for “CBS Mornings” to open up about his daughter’s untimely death, and explained how he has been working to spread awareness on mental illness and substance abuse.

It's been 25 years since "Scream 2" slashed its way into U.S. movie theaters with an opening scene set in a movie theater. And just in time for its silver anniversary and Halloween, the film is finally receiving the 4K Ultra HD treatment for the first time. Paramount Pictures has announced via an official press release that a newly remastered version of "Scream 2" will be released on digital and in a 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray set in October.

Hip-hop entrepreneur Master P revealed the exciting news on Instagram, posting a picture of the box alongside the caption: “Broadus Foods introduces the best tasting cereal in the game Snoop Loopz.
