Image
It may have started slowly, but Apple TV+’s Fountain of Youth has gradually become a streaming heavyweight despite its dismal 37% Rotten Tomatoes score. This National Treasure replacement for Apple TV+ has been directed by Guy Ritchie and stars Natalie Portman and John Krasinski in the pivotal roles. Latest figures show that it has gained 765.5 million minutes of viewing only in its first US week, becoming one of the biggest minute-wise debuts for the platform.

It is still at number 1 on Apple TV+ movie charts since its release on May 23, 2025. While the critics didn’t love the film, audiences have appreciated it well. This shows the disconnect between the viewer, engagement, and critical reception. Let’s have a look at why the movie remains a dominant presence on the streaming horizon.

Hollywood stars Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren have revealed an interesting connection between Tom Hardy and their new movie, The Thursday Murder Club. In a recent appearance on The Today Show, Brosnan and Mirren revealed that they received the offer for the British crime drama, MobLand, while working on the Netflix movie.

Mirren explained that though the script wasn’t complete at that point, she was eager to join, especially knowing Tom Hardy was involved. “We obviously knew that Tom Hardy was involved, and I think both of us should have known that was gonna be a great thing,” the actress said.

The former James Bond star also recalled receiving the offer through their agent. “We had the same agent… and he sent to me, Guy Ritchie, five episodes. I said ‘I’m doing it, I wanna go back to London,'” Brosnan shared. And soon, they were playing a married couple in MobLand.

'Road House 2' Adds Dave Bautista in Key Role
Image
Amazon’s highly anticipated sequel to one of its biggest action hits from last year has now added the perfect villain. Starring Academy Award-nominee Jake Gyllenhaal and rebooting the beloved 80s action outing Road House, it has now been confirmed that the upcoming sequel will bring a former MCU star, and real-life fighter, into the fray.

Following much rumor and speculation, Guardians of the Galaxy and Dune star Dave Bautista will face off with Gyllenhaal in Road House 2. The actor, who is also known for the likes of Blade Runner 2049, Army of the Dead, Knock at the Cabin, and more, as well as his tenure as both a WWE superstar and a stint in Mma, is reportedly “circling” the action movie follow-up, according to Deadline.

Released last year and directed by Doug Liman from a screenplay written by Anthony Bagarozzi (The Nice Guys) and Charles Mondry (Doc Savage...

Dave Bautista Set To Star In Both Chad Stahelski’s Highlander Reboot And Road House 2 At Amazon
Image
Of all the WWE superstars who've traded the squared circle for the cinematic stage, Dave Bautista is one of the greats. From Guardians Of The Galaxy to Knock At The Cabin, Dune to Glass Onion, and from The Boy And The Heron to The Last Showgirl, the artist formerly known as Batista has left no genre stone unturned in his quest to master a new craft. MCU and WWE Star Dave Bautista’s Amazon MGM Deal: Inside the Highlander and Road House 2 Plans

Dave Bautista, the former WWE champion turned Hollywood A-lister, has officially struck a multi-picture deal with Amazon MGM Studios, Deadline reports. Locking him in for high-profile projects, including the much-anticipated Highlander reboot alongside Henry Cavill and the action-packed Road House 2, the deal sets him up for leading roles in major franchises as he continues to move away from his WWE image.

Known to Marvel fans as Drax from Guardians of the Galaxy, Bautista’s latest career move cements his standing as one of Hollywood’s top action stars with a significant box-office pull. Meanwhile, for Amazon MGM, this move highlights the studio’s ambition to rival the blockbuster slates of Netflix, Disney, and more.

Jake Gyllenhaal
Dave Bautista is reportedly nearing two deals to star in Road House 2 and Henry Cavill’s Highlander reboot
Jake Gyllenhaal
Jake Gyllenhaal could have someone new to punch in the face for Road House 2 if Dave Bautista signs on the dotted line! According to sources close to Deadline, the Dune and Glass Onion star is closing in on deals for two anticipated action films: Road House 2 and Highlander, starring Henry Cavill as the immortal warrior.

Deadline says Dave Bautista will star opposite Henry Cavill in the Chad Stahelski-directed Highlander reboot as the Kurgan, the character made famous by Clancy Brown in the original sci-fi classic starring Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery. Rumors about who would play Kurgan have circulated since the project’s announcement, and casting Bautista as the immortal powerhouse makes perfect sense.

As for Road House 2, Deadline says Dave Bautista will star opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in the anticipated sequel to Doug Liman’s 2024 remake of the 1989 action epic starring Patrick Swayze. Will Beall (Bad Boys: Ride or Die...

Dave Bautista is stepping into the world of Road House. According to Nexus Point News, the actor has officially joined the cast of Amazon MGM’s upcoming sequel to the 2024 action remake that starred Jake Gyllenhaal.

The sequel will also introduce a mostly new cast, which means most of the actors from the first film aren’t expected to return.

Henry Cavill's 'Highlander' Reboot Casts Dave Bautista as Its Villain
Image
Dave Bautista is bringing the 1980s back, one action franchise at a time. He's now set to star in two major revivals of '80s VHS action classics from Amazon MGM Studios. He's said to be close to signing on for Road House 2, the sequel to the Jake Gyllenhaal-led remake of the Patrick Swayze brawler, and will also star in Chad Stahelski's revival of the immortal Highlanderfranchise. Bautista is said to be playing the role of the villainous Kurgan in the latter.

According to reports, Bautista is circling both roles, and is expected to sign both, but has not yet officially put pen to paper. In Road House 2, he'll be joining Gyllenhaal, who starred as UFC fighter turned bouncer Dalton in the Doug Liman-directed remake in 2024. Guy Ritchie was originally set to helm the sequel, but dropped out last month; Ilya Naishuller has stepped in to steer the film.

Prime Video's Heads of State Replacement Starring Pete Davidson and Eddie Murphy Bombs on Rotten Tomatoes
Image
Eddie Murphy is one of the most popular comedians of all time, and his films have always been a hit with the audience. Pair him up with SNL star and stand-up comedian Pete Davidson, and everyone would think the team-up would lead to a major hit.

The result in Prime Video's The Pickup couldn't be further from the truth. The new heist comedy, which is slated for release on Aug. 6, serves as the perfect replacement for the streamer's recent hit, Idris Elba and John Cena's Heads of State. However, The Pickup failed to impress the critics and debuted with an unfortunate 38% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Pickup's disappointing score comes from 16 reviews, and it's likely to improve or worsen as more reviews come in. However, Murphy and Davidson's new film is not off to a great start. Since the action comedy hasn't premiered, there is no audience score available.

Taylor Sheridan’s Must-Watch 100% Rotten Tomatoes Series Circles Tom Hardy on Streaming Charts
Image
Taylor Sheridan has a trio of hit shows that are set to return to Paramount+ later this year, but one series that won’t be back with another season is still finding streaming success. Sheridan is the creator of 1923, the Yellowstone prequel show starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren as Jacob and Cara Dutton. 1923 Season 2 earned a perfect 100% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and although it aired its final episode earlier this year in April, the show has still been a consistent force on streaming charts. It’s even closing in on MobLand, the Guy Ritchie-directed series starring Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnan. MobLand earned a much lower but still respectable 75% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and the show has already been renewed for a second season, unlike 1923.

Taylor Sheridan is currently hard at work filming the second season of Landman, which is due to premiere this December.

Henry Cavill’s $137 Million Forgotten ‘Chronicles of Narnia’ Replacement Quietly Resurrects on Global Streaming Charts
Image
Henry Cavill will always be known for his role as Superman, but long before he ever starred in Man of Steel, he teamed up with a Daredevil: Born Again star for a forgotten fantasy thriller that’s resurfaced on streaming charts. Cavill stars alongside Charlie Cox and Ian McKellen (X-Men) in Stardust, the 2007 fairytale epic following a young man who makes a promise to the love of his life to bring home a fallen star from a magical land. Despite releasing over 15 years ago, Stardust has returned to global VOD charts, trending in several countries, including Namibia. Stardust was well-liked by both fans and critics, earning a 77% score from the former and 86% from the latter on Rotten Tomatoes. It also grossed $137 million at the box office against a $70 million budget, meaning it fell just short of breaking even.

Eddie Murphy's 'The Pickup' Debuts With Low Rotten Tomatoes Score
Image
The Pickup is a new action comedy from Ride Along director Tim Story, starring Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidsonas two supposed pros who go up against one con(vict) in what should be a hilarious heist, but the film's early reviews suggest it has more cons than pros. The feature debuted with a disappointing Rotten Tomatoes score ahead of its release on Prime Video. It really is no laughing matter, as it falls short of some of Murphy's previous movies and TV shows — though not quite as low as his turn in the universally panned A Thousand Words.

At the time of writing, The Pickup has landed a less than impressive 36% "splat" score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes out of 14 reviews posted so far, meaning that the majority of them are negative. The percentage is likely to fluctuate up and down over the coming days, and an audience rating should...

'Reacher' and Taylor Sheridan's 'Yellowstone' Universe Are Officially Under the Same Umbrella

That sound you hear is dads across the Midwest cracking open a cold one to toast to a prosperous future of predictably entertaining television. Two of television’s biggest juggernauts — Alan Ritchson’s Reacherand Taylor Sheridan’s ever-expanding Yellowstoneuniverse — are now officially part of the same studio family.

She’ll oversee Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Films (alongside Josh Greenstein) as well as the newly reborn Paramount TV Studios.

The move marks a revival for Paramount TV Studios, which shut down just a year ago after an 11-year run. Under Goldberg, the new iteration will combine Skydance Television — home to Reacher, Cross, and Foundation — with the previously merged Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, the production home of Sheridan’s sprawling slate, including 1923, 1883, Tulsa King,...

“I Could Throw A Tantrum & Not Be Fired”: James Gunn's Superman & Guardians Of The Galaxy Collaborator Explains Why He Prefers Working With DC
Image
Superman's co-composer, John Murphy, explains why he prefers working with DC in comparison to Marvel Studios. The composer is a frequent collaborator of James Gunn, having written scores for Guardians of the GalaxyVol. 3 for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Peacemaker and The Suicide Squad for the DC Extended Universe.

The highly rated new Superman movie marked the latest project from the 28 Days Later composer, who wrote the tracks "Theme from Superman (Official Trailer Version)," "LuthorCorp," "Lois & Clark," "Raising the Flag," and "Walking on Air."

In an interview with ScreenRant, Murphy compared his experience working with Marvel Studios and DC. He shared that he came to work with Marvel on GotG Vol. 3, and while he appreciated the overall "professional" approach, he did feel the emotional distance and admitted to having to "deal with politics separately." HBO Max audiences are answering the call of duty and flocking to the streamer to tune in for The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Explosive doesn’t even begin to describe the heaping, overflowing amount of action in the Henry Cavill-led production that largely fictionalizes the real-life Operation Postmaster that Winston Churchill directed during WWII. An Overlooked Vanessa Kirby Crime Thriller Was Based On An Anthony Bourdain Book
Image
Long before Vanessa Kirby was playing Sue Storm, arguably the main character in the new "Fantastic Four" film, she was starring in a low-key 2015 crime thriller called "Bone in the Throat." The movie was about an ambitious chef who starts a new job at his uncle's restaurant, only to find out that the London mob's decided to use the restaurant to commit murder. Don't you just hate when that happens?

Kirby doesn't play the main chef, but she does star as Sophie, the main character's love interest who is very concerned about that whole mob situation going on. It was a compelling role that Kirby handled well, but the movie was never a big hit. Most people today, even some of Vanessa Kirby's biggest fans, don't even know the movie exists. It's hard to tell if this was a case of bad marketing or if audiences genuinely didn't like the movie,...

Jason Statham Fans Flock to Streaming To Watch His Action Thriller Flop for Free
Image
It may have flopped in theaters, but Jason Statham's stylish 2023 spy thriller Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre is enjoying a surprising comeback—this time, for free. Directed by Guy Ritchie, the action-comedy hybrid was all but swallowed by a stacked release calendar in early 2023, when it had the misfortune of opening against John Wick: Chapter 4, Creed III, and Scream VI. Despite a $50 million budget and a globe-trotting premise, the film managed just $48.9 million worldwide, missing the mark and quickly fading from the box office conversation. But now? It's quietly become a streaming hit—and fans are rediscovering what they missed the first time around.

After rolling out across various streaming platforms like Hulu, Peacock, and Starz, Operation Fortune has now made its free streaming debut on Tubi. The result? A groundswell of late-blooming appreciation from Statham and Ritchie fans alike. The film stars Statham as elite spy Orson Fortune,...

Brosnan stars alongside Woody Harrelson (True Detective), Salma Hayek (Grown Ups), and Don Cheadle (Iron Man 2) in After the Sunset, a 2004 heist film following a master thief who pulls off his last big score, and an FBI agent who promised he’d capture him. After previously not streaming anywhere, Netflix has swooped in and made the film available to watch for all subscribers starting at the beginning of this month on August 1. After the Sunset earned abysmal scores of 18% from critics and 52% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and the film grossed only $62 million at the box office against a $60 million budget.

Henry Cavill on “Poring over old tomes and texts” to Create a Source Accurate Warhammer Series
Image
Henry Cavill once left the production of Netflix’s The Witcher series after portraying the role of Geralt of Rivia across three seasons in the iconic TV show. Cavill was also removed from James Gunn’s Dcu from the role of Clark Kent/Superman because Gunn didn’t want people to confuse the Dcu with Zack Snyder’s Dceu.

Well, facing closed doors eventually led Henry Cavill to follow his passion as the actor became actively involved in the development of a Warhammer 40K series based on the video games of the same name.

Back in December 2024, Henry Cavill posted a little photo on Instagram and gave some updates about the progress on his Warhammer series.

Both Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie made their feature film debuts with 1998’s Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. The movie marked the first theatrical release for both writer-director Ritchie and star Statham, who would later rise to massive success as an action star.

In those and later roles, including Gary Oldman’s Nil by Mouth (1997) and Jonathan Glazer’s Sexy Beast (2000), Winstone demonstrated his ability to combine brute force with emotional vulnerability.

He has played plenty of heavies in his career — the mob enforcer in Martin Scorcese’s/Jack Nicholson’s The Departed (2006), the imprisoned drug boss Bobby Glass in Guy Ritchie’s Netflix hit series The Gentlemen — but also voiced Mr.

McTavish, known for playing Dougal MacKenzie in the Outlander universe, and more famously, playing the role of Dwalin for The Hobbit trilogy), didn’t hesitate when asked which shows he thought deserved Emmy attention this year. “Landman and MobLand,” he said firmly, praising Taylor Sheridan’s oil-field epic and Guy Ritchie’s stylish gangster saga as two of the series he couldn't stop watching this year. And he’s not alone in thinking that.

While the Emmys may have completely shut out Sheridan’s Landman — despite a Golden Globe nomination for Billy Bob Thornton — fans have flocked to the series. It became the highest-rated freshman drama...

Did Netflix Just Reveal 2 Must-Watch Jason Statham Movies Coming to Streaming Next Month?
Image
Jason Statham’s most recent action epic found success at the box office and streaming on Amazon MGM+, but Netflix may have inadvertently spoiled two huge titles from the star coming soon. The streamer has opened tabs for both The Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and Furious 7, and while they’re not available to stream now, it does present the option to remind subscribers when they are. This means both films will likely be available to stream on Netflix soon, possibly even at the beginning of next month. Both were mostly well-received by critics and audiences, and each found financial success. Statham is also expected to return to the Fast & Furious franchise in the 11th and final installment after Fast X teased his reprisal as Deckard Shaw.

Released in 2015, Furious 7 earned an 82% from both critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and the film also grossed $1.5 billion at the global box office.

‘F1’ Races Past Guy Ritchie’s Hit Period Mystery to Become One of the Biggest Original Films of the Last Decade
Image
Having completed a full month of release in theaters worldwide, Apple’s sports drama F1has now passed what will likely be its final global box office milestone. F1 has also established itself as one of the biggest original blockbusters of the last decade, as it aims to overtake the $531 million lifetime haul of World War Z to become star Brad Pitt’s biggest-ever hit. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, F1 opened to positive reviews and capitalized on Formula One racing’s popularity in overseas markets. Somewhat surprisingly, it did rather well domestically, too. Fueled by Pitt’s charisma, the movie has now passed the $165 million mark stateside.

F1 has generated an additional $344 million from overseas markets, for a cumulative global haul of $509 million. While the budget has not been made public for F1, it’s one of the biggest-ever films to have been produced by a tech giant. Apple is...

The Best Movie in Denzel Washington's Only Franchise Fumbles on Streaming to a Jason Statham Flick That Deserved Better in Theaters
Image
The streaming battle between Jason Statham and Denzel Washington has jumped from Prime Video to Hulu. After tussling with A Working Man last month, The Equalizer 3 is now dealing with Wrath of Man.

Per FlixPatrol, Wrath of Man and The Equalizer 3 have swapped spots on Hulu's Top 10 Movies in the United States list and, as of July 24, are ranked No. 7 and No. 8, respectively. However, the Statham-led Wrath of Man has its work cut out for it if it hopes to move further up the list, as The Amateur, High Rollers, The Assessment, In the Lost Lands, Distant, and Get Away are holding steady in the top six spots. While The Equalizer 3 continues to be popular on streaming, there always seems to be an action flick starring Statham on the same platform that stops it from rising higher on the charts.
