  • In his earlier films, atleast one character (usually a villain) wore round glasses and had a beard. This look was inspired by John Lennon. Javed Jaffrey in Mere Jung and Anupam Kher in Karma are examples of this trend.
  • Director Subhash Ghai made a cameo appearance in 'Aradhana' (1969), which he anyway does for all his films.
  • Unfortunately, he has never directed Amitabh Bachchan. But he almost did for a film called Deva in 1987.
