The romance genre is primed for a comeback in Bollywood, and director Mohit Suri believes his upcoming film “Saiyaara” could be the catalyst.

The anticipated Hindi-language romantic drama marks the first collaboration between Yash Raj Films (Yrf) and Suri.

Disney+ has revealed that Korean crime thriller “Nine Puzzles” has become the platform’s most-viewed Korean title globally in 2025, just nine days after its May 21 debut.

The series stars Kim Dami (“Itaewon Class”) as Yoon Ena, a high school student who discovers her murdered uncle’s body alongside a mysterious puzzle piece, only to become the prime suspect. A decade later, now a criminal profiler, she’s pulled into a new series of murders connected by similar puzzle pieces. Son Sukku (“Big Bet”) co-stars as Detective Kim Hansaem, with Kim Sungkyun (“Moving”) and Hyun Bongsik rounding out the cast. The series is directed by Yoon Jongbin (“Narco Saints”) and written by Lee Eunmi (“Tunnel”).

I vividly remember the first time I spoke to him. It took time. I had loved Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and keenly wanted to speak to him. I asked a dear friend, a sophisticated actress and also a chat-show hostess if she would introduce us. “Darling, I can’t disturb him just like that. I will see when I can mention him to you,” she assured me. I believed her blindly. She was, after all, my dear friend.

Wow, so many years have passed!!! I was a 15-year-old kid who had just taken the 10th standard exam. I knew nothing about acting, screen, or stars at that time, having seen only probably 4 to 5 films in my life.

Which films had you seen before?

Dosti many times at all Children’s Day celebrations in school), Guddi, Mera Naam Joker, and I think maybe a few more. That’s it. I was super-shy and awkward and had no idea What Huge stars I was working with. This was the zamana before the internet and Instagram.

Bollywood juggernaut Yash Raj Films (Yrf) has officially christened its much-anticipated collaboration with romance maestro Mohit Suri as “Saiyaara.”

The film, billed as an “intense love story,” marks the first production under Yrf CEO Akshaye Widhani’s leadership and will be presented by studio head Aditya Chopra. I remember meeting Yash Chopra some years after the release of Lamhe, and he was still mourning its commercial failure. “ Lamhe will always remain close to my heart. I made it out of a deep sense of conviction. The love story between the hero Anil Kapoor and the daughter of a woman whom the hero loved was tricky; I knew it. In fact, I had gone with the role to another superstar, whom I wouldn’t like to name, and he said no immediately, ‘Yash, have you gone mad? You want me to romance the daughter of the character I love?’ But I was adamant. I had to make this film.

Though she was already one by then, the first time I met Rani Mukherjee, I couldn’t believe she was a star. Legendary musician Ar Rahman is currently in hospital. Early reports suggested that the Oscar-winning composer complained of chest pain and was rushed for a medical checkup this morning. But there’s nothing to worry about, as his sister Fathima has clarified the reports.

Earlier this morning, reports claimed Rahman was rushed to hospital around 7:30 Am today after he complained of sudden chest pain. He was admitted for the immediate medical role, and the doctors performed necessary tests, including an echocardiogram and Ecg.

But a spokesperson of Ar Rahman has rubbished the rumors of chest pain. In a statement to Ndtv, they clarified, “He returned from London yesterday and felt unwell, so he went to the hospital for a check-up last night. However, according to the doctors, it was due to dehydration, as he has also been fasting for Ramzan.”
