How would you program this year's newest, most interesting films into double features with movies of the past you saw in 2015?Looking back over the year at what films moved and impressed us, it is clear that watching old films is a crucial part of making new films meaningful. Thus, the annual tradition of our end of year poll, which calls upon our writers to pick both a new and an old film: they were challenged to choose a new film they saw in 2015—in theatres or at a festival—and creatively pair it with an old film they also saw in 2015 to create a unique double feature.All the contributors were given the option to write some text explaining their 2015 fantasy double feature. The 24th Helsinki International Film Festival - Love & Anarchy is off and running through September 25 and for just as long, wherever you are in the world, you can watch four films for free: Tonislav Hristov's Rules of Single Life, a comedy about Bulgarian men in the Finnish capital; Rax Rinnekangas's Journey to Eden, in which two artists explore northern Spain; Markku Tuurna's Salla? Written and directed by Donagh Coleman 'Stone Pastures', a documentary which was co-produced by Wildfire films, has won the Grand Prix at the Cervino Cinemountain Film Festival in Italy. Produced by Jouko Aaltonen, Martha O'Neill, Beverley Cook and Executively Produced by Adrian McCarthy, 'Stone Pastures' details the extraordinary life of a struggling Nomadic family, who struggle to rear pashmina goats as they live on the Himalayan plateau of Ladakh - a high altitude cold desert, the most inhospitable of environments.
