After breaking a global record with the largest global viewership for a Latin American title in Prime Video history and becoming the most-watched series or movie of all time on Prime Video in Colombia, Betty la Fea is back to finally solve the mystery. Prime Video has laid its cards on the table – quite literally.

Following a mysterious tarot session between Betty (Ana María Orozco) and Bertha (Luces Velásquez), the stars have officially aligned to reveal the official trailer, key art, and premiere date for the highly anticipated second season of Betty la Fea: La Historia Continúa, arriving on August 15, exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories.

With the stellar return of Ana María Orozco and Jorge Enrique Abello alongside much of the original cast, the second season will unfold across 10 episodes, released two episodes per week.

Created by Fernando Gaitán for the Colombian network Rcn, “Yo soy Betty, la fea” followed the adventures of Beatriz Pinzón Solano (Ana María Orozco), a secretary with braces, bad bangs and an even worse wardrobe, who falls in love with her playboy boss Armando Mendoza (Jorge Enrique Abello). The show followed Betty’s transformation from an eager assistant helping her supervisor hide financial wrongdoing, into a confident and beautiful executive who takes over as president of the clothing manufacturing company where she works — while her playboy reformed into a doting husband.

It’s been over two decades since the smash-hit Colombian telenovela Yo Soy Betty la Fea first aired. Focusing on the unassuming Betty and her adventures at the fashion company Ecomoda, the series became a worldwide phenomenon, with fans drawn to Betty’s klutzy charm and willingness to persevere in the face of adversity.

Now, Betty la Fea: The Story Continues brings us back to Ecomoda years later. A lot has changed for Betty since she left the company and her marriage to Armando ended. But when Armando’s father passes, the ownership of Ecomoda is thrown into question. Following the funeral, shocking details of Roberto’s will reveal Betty has a stake in the company’s future once more.

The new series will premiere on July 19 in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Betty la Fea, the Story Continues, will see Ana María Orozco reprise her role of Betty alongside Jorge Enrique Abello. Fernando Gaitan, who wrote "Yo Soy Betty La Fea" is scripting "A Corazon Abierto" ("An Open Heart"), based on ABC's hit medical drama "Grey's Anatomy." It has already started production in Bogota, Colombia.

The show follows the standard Latin American television format, with limited series runs. "A Corazon Abierto" will be produced as a "super series" with 80 original episodes being produced. They will air daily in a telenovela-style format.

The new series will feature sets replicated from the hit ABC drama, which stars Patrick Dempsey, Sandra Oh, and Katherine Heigl. It will feature a cast of Latin film and television stars including Rafael Novoa, Carolina Gomez, Jorge Cao, and Jorge Enrique Abello.
