    • AC/DC is a legendary rock band from Australia, formed in Sydney in 1973 by brothers Malcolm Young and Angus Young. AC/DC have sold more than 200 million records worldwide, including 71.5 million albums in the United States, adding them to the list of highest-certified music artists in the United States and the list of best-selling music artists. "Back in Black" has sold an estimated 50 million units worldwide, making it the second-highest-selling album by any artist - and the highest-selling album by any band. AC/DC were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on 10 March 2003.

  • The band got its name when a member saw "AC/DC" on a sewing machine and thought it looked cool. They didn't know it stood for "Alternating Current/Direct Current". They also didn't know it was slang for bisexual, which caused some misunderstandings early in their career.
  • Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.
  • Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose fronted the band during AC/DC's separation from Brian Johnson.
  • According to Metallian the band often records in Vancouver, Canada.
  • Metallian.com reported that there is an alley in Melbourne, Australia named after the band.
