The Conners season 5 welcomes a love interest for Becky, played by a Lord of the Rings icon. It's been an interesting time for the original Roseanne character as of late, as the spotlight turned to Becky (Lecy Goranson) and her stepmother Louise (Katey Sagal). The two characters get into a feud after Louise makes a comment about Becky's parenting. It's a bit of a sensitive subject, as Becky's love and protection for her daughter Beverly Rose has been a recurring theme throughout the ABC series.

A new image and story details from TVLine reveal that things could be turning around for Becky in The Conners season 5. Sean Astin, best known for his roles in The Goonies and the Lord of the Ring trilogy as Sam, will appear in the April 19 episode.
