Slow Burn Sunday: Renovation Drama Stirs Jack’s Feelings On Young and the Restless
Image
This week’s slow burn concerns Jack’s feelings about the newly renovated Abbott mansion. Diane wanted to make some changes to their home, which had been discussed on the show for months. We finally saw the results, and they’re still causing drama. Jack has complicated feelings about it on The Young and the Restless.

Diane’s Big Amazing Renovation

This storyline sounds like something out of an HGTV show. But no, you’re watching Y&r. Diane (Susan Walters) is an architect, so she wanted to put her skills to the test. She offered to renovate the Abbott Mansion. Last month, she unveiled the new look to Jack (Peter Bergman) and his son Kyle (Michael Mealor).

More: Jack struggles with with a painful homecoming on Y&r.

Young and the Restless April 8 French Connection
Image
On the April 8 episode of The Young and the Restless, Traci was in her room talking to Alan, Jack and Ashley were downstairs talking about what was going on with Traci and Alan (or maybe Martin), and Sharon, Phyllis, Nick, and Chance were talking about how France was the key to what happened to them in Genoa City. All this French talk (were Jack and Ashley even eating French fries?) made us wonder if we weren’t being handed a huge clue as to who was really behind all this turmoil.

The Last Time I Saw Paris

Alan (Christopher Cousins) is from France. He treated Ashley (Eileen Davidson) in France, and France was where Martin played with her mind to the point where she ended up in a mental institution — also in France! You know who else was from France? Marc Mergeron!

The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Diane Threatens Abbott Peace – Jack Agrees To Risky Investment
Image
The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Flannery) feels good about herself so much so that she wants to make changes in the Abbott household.

Diane also bristled when her husband, the namesake of the patriarch, John Abbott (Jerry Douglas), offered an optimistic comment about their son. Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) suggested to Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) that her place at the family dinner table might become permanent.

In contrast to Diane’s latest lurch into Abbott family politics, Jack reinforced that he backs his often-wandering brother, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). But is Jack’s risk greater than Diane’s?

Maternal Instincts And Control Of The Abbott Household

Make no mistake, Diane loves her son Kyle. The sacrifice she was willing to make when faking her alliance with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) was bold, selfless, and successful.

Her explanation of suffering from mental health issues...

What Really Caused Ashley’s Breakdown On Young and the Restless? December 10
Image
On the December 10 episode of The Young and the Restless, Ashley admitted she still didn’t know what caused her personality to splinter the way that it did earlier. But, surely, The Powers That Be aren’t just going to leave us hanging like that, are they? There’s got to be an answer!

The Early Years

When gently questioning her mother about her recovery, Abby (Melissa Ordway) noted that dissociative personality disorders like Ashley’s are usually caused by something horrifically traumatic happening in childhood. (We’ll skip the part where modern-day research is pretty sure Did isn’t a thing.)

Ashley (Eileen Davidson) said she and her therapists had tried to dig deep and see if they could figure out what initially triggered her and how Martin (Christopher Cousins) was able to take advantage of her vulnerability. But they came up empty.

Y&r Spoilers: Alan’s Twin Or Alter-The Shocking Truth About Martin Revealed?
Eileen Davidson, Bryton James, Joshua Morrow, Gina Tognoni, Justin Hartley, Melissa Claire Egan, and Peter Bergman in The Young and the Restless (1973)
The Young and The Restless (Y&r) spoilers and rumors tease that Alan Laurent’s (Christopher Cousins) twin Martin Laurent may not be his twin at all.

The two are never seen together, yet Martin seems to know everything about Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson); might Alan have an alter of his own?

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Alan Laurent’s Claim Was An Evil Twin Impersonating Him

Alan’s claim is Martin is an evil twin impersonating him, but if that’s true how would Martin know anything about Ashley and answer her phone call to Alan in his absence?

That doesn’t make any sense-Ashley did claim to have gotten to know Alan in Paris, but she hasn’t been living and working in Paris for years.

Ashley returned to Genoa City fulltime about the time that Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) and Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) did.

Daytime Emmys: ‘General Hospital’ Wins For Outstanding Drama; ‘The Kelly Clarkson’ Show Wins For Fourth Consecutive Year – Full Winners List
Image
General Hospital was once again the big winner at the Daytime Emmys, while Dick Van Dyke was recognized for his guest work on Days of Our Lives and The Kelly Clarkson Show won its fourth consecutive trophy for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series.

For a few hours Friday, it seemed like the 51st Annual awards wouldn’t occur because IATSE threatened to picket the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles over the show’s use of a non-union crew. Fortunately, IATSE leadership met with the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Friday afternoon and were able to reach an agreement two hours before showtime.

Following a corny but cute opening number performed by The Talk hosts Amanda Kloots and Jerry O’Connell, Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier and Nichelle Turner kicked off the live show by singling out “royalty” in the house — Dick Van Dyke, who would end up winning...

Young and the Restless: Kyle Shuts Summer out of Harrison’s Life? Claire Conflict Escalates!
Image
The Young and The Restless sees tensions are escalating between Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and his ex-wife, Summer Newman (Allison Lanier). The two are caught in a bitter dispute over their son, Harrison Locke Abbott (Redding Munsell), with a potential future nanny, Claire Grace Newman (Hayley Erin), in the mix. Kyle’s budding interest in Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) daughter, Claire, could add fuel to the fire.

The Newman family’s history of deceit and revenge on the CBS soap opera

plays a significant role in driving the narrative forward. Summer’s mistrust of Claire, who was raised by a family with a history of violence and betrayal, seems justified. Nonetheless, most of the Abbott family, including Victoria Newman and Kyle’s son Harrison, are willing to give Claire the benefit of the doubt.

Harrison’s custody on Yr is another contentious issue, as Summer has no legal rights over him.

‘The Young And The Restless’ Renewed Through 2024 By CBS
CBS has renewed its long-running top daytime drama The Young and the Restless for four more years, taking it through 2024.

The massive, straight-forward renewal of The Young and the Restless, from Sony Pictures Television, stands in contrast with the dramatic, down-to-the-wire one-season renewal for the Sony TV-distributed daytime drama Days Of Our Lives at NBC which was finally completed and announced yesterday after months of negotiations.

With the renewal, The Young and the Restless joins its companion in the CBS daytime lineup, the CBS TV Studios-backed soap The Bold and the Beautiful, which is a year into a three-year pickup through the 2022.

“Having the #1 show for any length of time in any daypart is a tremendous accomplishment,” said Kelly Kahl, President, CBS Entertainment. “But The Young and the Restless has been daytime’s top drama for over three decades. The last time any other show was on top, Ronald Reagan...

Max Gail (‘Gh’): Daytime Emmy reel focuses on heartbreaking Alzheimer’s disease storyline
The role of Mike Corbin on “General Hospital” was played by Ron Hale for 16 years from 1995 until the actor retired in 2011. So when the character came back for a highly touted Alzheimer’s storyline in 2018 Hale was replaced by veteran character actor Max Gail. Now Gail is nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Daytime Emmys, which marks the actor’s first bid at these awards and the first bid for any actor playing Mike. Gail also has a couple of Primetime Emmy nominations under his belt for his supporting performance in the comedy series “Barney Miller” (1979-1980). Will he finally take home the gold for the first time in his career?

The nominees and winners for the Daytime Emmys were determined based on sample performance reels from each actor, which were viewed and voted on by blue ribbon panels. Find out all about what Gail submitted to Emmy judges below.

Although the Daytime Emmys have not released the drama acting reels to the public this year, they have been made available to the press. Let’s take a look at Bergman’s submission below.

Days of Our Lives (1965)
Our users say ‘Days of Our Lives’ was the best drama of the year, but our favorite actors Won’T be nominated for Emmys
Days of Our Lives (1965)
Emmys Schmemmys. Gold Derby’s forum posters have been naming their favorite daytime dramas and performances since 2003, and according to their 16th Annual Goldie Awards, “Days of Our Lives” was the best drama series of the year. But some of the best performances of 2018 aren’t in the running at the Daytime Emmys, whose nominations will be announced on March 20. Scroll down to see our posters’ complete list of winners.

“Days” has been our users’ choice for Best Drama Series more than any other soap. It has prevailed seven times. “The Young and the Restless” was our winner five times. The now defunct “One Life to Live” prevailed twice. “General Hospital” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” won once apiece. But while “Days” has a good chance of winning at the Emmys too — it’s the defending champion after all — some of the best performances from the show weren’t even pre-nominated.
