10 Unknown Facts About Alicia Silverstone
Image
Alicia Silverstone lit up the ’90s when she waltzed onto screens as Cher Horowitz in Clueless. She was out there serving sass, charm, and outfits that still live rent-free in pop culture’s memory. Her whip-smart, sunshiney take on the Beverly Hills matchmaker turned her into an instant teen queen, and her sweet, slow-burn chemistry with Paul Rudd’s Josh gave rom-com lovers one of their favorite comfort couples. The film hasn’t just aged well—it’s practically immortal in the teen comedy hall of fame.

After riding that wave, she slipped into Batgirl’s sleek suit for Batman & Robin (1997), then kept her filmography fresh with everything from the haunting The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017) to the offbeat Bad Therapy (2020) and the slow-burn mystery Reptile (2023). But beyond the big titles, there are corners of her story that many might not know. Here are ten unknown facts about...

Alicia Silverstone says Clueless TV show will honor original movie
Alicia Silverstone
Even 30 years on, Cher Horowitz remains Alicia Silverstone’s most iconic character. And so how could she possibly say, “As if!” to a follow-up? And while we don’t have many details on the upcoming Clueless TV series, Silverstone is ready to go all-in on Cher once again.

The Clueless show is still in early stages so Silverstone was a bit dicey on sharing much, but she did tell Today, “I’m really excited about it. I think we’re going to try really hard. The goal is to make it honor what everyone loves about ‘Clueless’ and Cher…So we want to honor that, but also bring something fresh and new to it. I’m confident that we’ll be able to do that, but we’re in baby stages right now.”

The Clueless series was announced earlier this year, but that wasn’t the first time the 1995 comedy...

Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers Open Las Culturistas Culture Awards With a Stomping Lady Gaga Cover
Image
Comedians Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers opened their first televised Las Culturistas Culture Awards with a delirious, inch-perfect rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra.”

Though obviously not quite as elaborate as Gaga’s own video and performances, Yang and Rogers still pulled out as many stops as they could. There was a troupe of cane-wielding back-up dancers, some committed vocal runs, and stomping choreography. They even had fellow comedian Patti Harrison introduce the performance in a full “lady in red” get-up.

We will never recover from Abracadabra. #cultureawards2025 #MattRogers...

Image
Comedians Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers honored the best, brightest, and dumbest (complimentary) in pop culture at the fourth annual Las Culturistas Culture Awards, which made its television debut tonight.

Both a send-up of, and winking tribute to, the splendor and ridiculousness of industry awards shows, Yang and Rogers started the Culture Awards in 2022, spinning off the bit from their hit podcast, Las Culturistas. For the first three years of its existence, the Culture Awards were put on as a live-only show in New York City, mainly featuring Yang and...

Supernatural Creatures Stalk Urban Explorers on ‘Do Not Enter’ Poster [Exclusive]
Image
Getting in is hard, but getting out is hell in Do Not Enter — coming soon from Lionsgate and Suretone Pictures.

We got our claws on the first look at the poster below. Check back tomorrow for the trailer.

Based on David Morrell‘s 2005 novel Creepers, the horror film marks the feature directorial debut of Marc Klasfeld, whose prolific music video credits range from Aerosmith and Slipknot to Katy Perry and Eminem.

The Creepers are thrill-seeking urban explorers who love pushing things to the edge, and their latest stunt — livestreaming from New Jersey’s abandoned Paragon Hotel — is their biggest yet. With its mobster past, supposed ghosts, and rumored stash of $300 million, the Paragon is catnip to the Creepers, a surefire way to increase their fanbase.

But fear has other plans. Daring to enter the Paragon, not heeding the warnings, the Creepers fend off deadly rivals while supernatural creatures stalk them from the shadows,...

Muppet Courtyard Stage 1 Studio Store Demolished Ahead of Monsters Inc. Retheme
Image
The sadness keeps on coming as the former Muppet Vision gift shop, aka the Stage 1 Studio Store, has been demolished at the old Muppet Courtyard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Bioreconstruct on Twitter has aerial images showing the newly demolished store area.

Prior to the demolition guests needed to walk around a fake street to reach the Christmas shop and Mama Melrose’s Restaurant. Now it’s all open.

The Stage 1 Studio Store has been closed for quite some time before the rest of the Muppet Courtyard was shut down.

Here is how the Stage 1 Studio Store used to look.

The entrance featured a Miss Piggy clock with two Kermit statues in tuxedos flanking the doorway. Paint was “spilled” along the bases. A large Kermit face was painted on the building and a Professor Honeydew homage was also on the facade.

Inside the store it looked like a warehouse or soundstage with Muppet nods throughout.

‘Ick’ Director Joseph Kahn Is Tired of Being Head of the Curve
Image
Even if you don’t know who Joseph Kahn is, you’ve seen one of his music videos.

Since getting into the business in the early 1990s, he has directed nearly 200 videos for some of the industry’s biggest stars – everyone from Willie Nelson to Backstreet Boys to U2 to Taylor Swift. Eminem’s “Without Me” clip? That was Kahn. Janet Jackson’s “Doesn’t Really Matter?” Also Kahn. Britney Spears’ “Womanizer?” Well, you get the picture.

Typically, a director as talented and prolific as Kahn would transition to an equally lucrative career in feature films, just as countless have done before him – people like Michael Bay, David Fincher, Spike Jonze and Antoine Fuqua.

But Kahn’s output as a feature director has been frustratingly few and far between. His fourth film in 20 years, “Ick,” oozes into 800 theaters nationwide on July 27, 28 and 29, as part of a Fathom Events special presentation.

‘Spinal Tap II: The End Continues’ Trailer: The Band Rocks Out With Elton John in Comedy Sequel 41 Years in the Making
Image
Bleecker Street has released the first trailer for its music mockumentary sequel, “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues.”

Forty-one years in the making, “The End Continues” is the follow-up to the 1984 classic comedy, “This Is Spinal Tap.” In the original film, director Rob Reiner — playing a fictional version of himself — follows the fictional British metal band across its North American tour. Though the film is scripted, it follows the visual language and conventions of the era’s iconic music documentaries like Led Zeppelin’s “The Song Remains the Same” and The Band’s “The Last Waltz,” satirizing the dramatic, eccentric and wild behaviors of rock-and-roll musicians.

Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer reprise their roles as Spinal Tap bandmates Nigel Tufnel, David St. Hubbins and Derek Smalls in “The End Continues.” Reiner also returns, both in front of and behind the camera.

The sequel shows the band recruiting a...

Ozzy Osbourne Gets Heartbreaking Tributes From One of the Greatest Rock Bands of All Time and Dolly Parton
Image
The passing of a titan is never easy, not even for those in the industry. Following Ozzy Osbourne’s death at 76 years old, musicians from nearly every genre of music have emerged to celebrate the life of the incomparable metal icon. The rocker reached worldwide success with his heavy band Black Sabbath in the ‘70s. He later had a successful career and died July 22, 2025 after living with Parkinson’s Disease. Fans were heartbroken at the news, but nearly as much as the Prince of Darkness’ contemporaries. The American rock band of the same era, Aerosmith, took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their condolences in a heartfelt post.

“We’re heartbroken to hear about the passing of our brother in rock, Ozzy Osbourne. A voice that changed music forever. From Black Sabbath to his solo work, Ozzy redefined what it meant to be heavy. He did it all with heart,...

Sir Elton John called Osbourne “a dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods — a true legend. He was also one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. I will miss him dearly.”

Meet the Artist Transforming Hair Metal Hits into Brooding Outlaw Country Songs
Image
About a decade ago, Nashville was breathlessly trying to find the next Chris Stapleton, who had just vanquished “bro country” and resurrected a more authentic country sound with his debut album, Traveller. Alex Williams, an Indiana native with a mesmerizing, Stapleton-like baritone and a steely gaze, found himself in the middle of that search.

Big Machine Records signed Williams in 2017 and issued his debut album, Better Than Myself, that same year. He played a sold-out showcase at Nashville’s Basement East and hit the road with Aaron Lewis, another Big Machine signee.

The Best Moments From Ozzy Osbourne’s Back to the Beginning Farewell Concert
Image
More than 50 years after first forming in Birmingham, England, Ozzy Osbourne and his pioneering metal band Black Sabbath are finally ready to retire from playing and making music.

Osbourne and his manager wife Sharon planned a grand culmination of sorts, gathering the biggest names in rock and metal to pay homage to the band’s influence during an all-day celebration and livestreamed event. Other seminal groups have been guilty of going back on their word after calling it quits, but Saturday’s show felt like both the band and the music community put (a very heavy) lid on the band’s legacy, and it was filled with love.

Titled “Back to the Beginning,” the 10 hour concert was held at Villa Park, just miles from where Osbourne and his mates grew up. It featured a stellar announced line-up and plenty of surprises courtesy of musical director Tom Morello (Rage Against the...

Unseen ‘Clueless’ Footage Released as ’90s Classic Celebrates 30 Years — or, Like, Whatever
Image
“Entertainment Tonight” has pulled out of its vaults several minutes of previously unseen behind-the-scenes “Clueless” footage, showcasing Alicia Silverstone, Paul Rudd, Brittany Murphy, Breckin Meyer, Stacey Dash, Donald Faison, director Amy Heckerling, and the rest of the team. In the last month, many involved with the production have appeared at 30th anniversary events, heralding the indelible mark left by the high school classic on pop culture.

The clips include one-on-one interviews with the cast members, many of whom were teenagers at the time, describing their characters. In one segment, Meyer reveals that he was familiar with being a high school student in Beverly Hills — even though the movie’s fictional Bronson Alcott High School was actually played by Occidental College in nearby Eagle Rock.

“I went to Beverly. I went to the school it’s about, oddly enough, so I know exactly what it was like being the obnoxious skater kid in school,...

Steven Tyler, Sammy Hagar, Billy Corgan, Ghost’s Papa Lead Superjam at Final Black Sabbath Concert

A second superjam at the “Back to the Beginning” final Black Sabbath concert in Birmingham on Saturday (July 5th) featured an all-star roster of musicians, including Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, Sammy Hagar, Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan, Ghost’s Papa V Perpetua, and more.

Corgan joined Tom Morello for covers of Judas Priest’s “Breaking the Law” and Black Sabbath’s “Snowblind.” Hagar sang Ozzy’s “Flying High Again,” while Ghost’s Papa performed Ozzy’s “Bark at the Moon. Tyler was joined by The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood for “Train Kept a Rollin,” and stayed onstage for a medley of “Walk This Way” and Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love.” Tyler’s appearance was especially notable as the Aerosmith frontman has been largely sidelined from performing since suffering a vocal injury in late 2023.

They were backed by such musicians as Travis Barker, Nuno Bettencourt, Vernon Reid, K.K. Downing, Adam Jones,...

Joe Perry on Aerosmith Playing Again: “We’re Talking About It”
Image
Guitarist Joe Perry says there’s definitely a possibility of Aerosmith playing a final show or even more gigs in the future.

In a new interview on Sirius Xm’s Trunk Nation, Perry was asked about the band potentially reuniting for a final concert, after singer Steven Tyler‘s vocal injury forced the group to retire from touring in 2024. Although Aerosmith haven’t taken the stage as a full band since September 2023, Perry and Tyler did perform together for a charity show back in May of this year, running through several Aerosmith tunes at the time.

“We’re talking about it,” Perry told host Eddie Trunk regarding a final, full-blown Aerosmith concert. “I mean, except for like, anything on the calendar, we’re all alive and well, so, you know, we’ll just have to see, you know? I know there’s gotta...

As ‘F1’ revs up, a look at Jerry Bruckheimer’s 8 best Oscar-nominated movies
Image
Jerry Bruckheimer, start your engines. The veteran producer's latest summer spectacle, F1: The Movie, races into theaters on Friday and is already expected to top the weekend box office courtesy of Brad Pitt's star power and the global popularity of the Formula 1 racing circuit.

Based on advanced looks, F1 also has the right stuff to appeal to Oscar voters — much like Bruckheimer's previous collaboration with director Joseph Kosinski, 2022's Top Gun: Maverick. That legacy sequel received six nominations, including Best Picture. That also happened to be Bruckheimer's first nod in a five-decade career.

"We got recognized for a terrific film and thanks to Tom Cruise, I'm here," the producer said at the time, adding: "I've been doing it for so long and haven't had the accolades from my peers. ... I finally got that which is kind of a completion for making movies for all these years."

Carla Harvey Unveils New Violent Hour Single “Hell or Hollywood” Featuring Zakk Wylde
Image
Former Butcher Babies singer Carla Harvey has unveiled the single/video “Hell or Hollywood” as the latest offering from her new project The Violent Hour. The single features a guest guitar solo from Zakk Wylde.

The new song, which follows previous single “Sick Ones” featuring John 5, has a distinctive ’80s hard rock vibe, and is accompanied by a music video filmed at the famed Rainbow Bar & Grill in Hollywood, California. In the clip, actors portray Lemmy Kilmister, Janis Joplin, and Kurt Cobain.

“Shooting the ‘Hell or Hollywood’ video at the Rainbow was a full-circle moment for me,” stated Harvey. “As a kid growing up in the Midwest, I saw the Rainbow in rock mags and iconic Guns N’ Roses videos…it exuded that gritty, dangerous, rock ’n’ roll lifestyle I craved. When I moved to LA, I practically lived there. I made my first friends at the Rainbow,...

‘Clueless’ turns 30: Jeremy Renner’s audition, Alicia Silverstone’s life-changing fax, and other surprising stories from iconic comedy
Image
Could anyone really forget about Clueless, even three decades after its debut? As if!

Alicia Silverstone and writer-director Amy Heckerling joined costars and crew at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures screening of Clueless on Saturday, marking the 30th anniversary of the iconic film’s July 1995 release — but it was Silverstone’s costars Breckin Meyer and Elisa Donovan who shared the biggest bombshells of the night.

Meyer, who portrayed laid-back skateboarder Travis Birkenstock, was eager to work with Heckerling, having been a fan of her earlier films such as Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Johnny Dangerously, and Look Who’s Talking. He also recalled some of the other actors who auditioned for the role.

“All the other guys I knew — Seth Green, Jeremy Renner, and all these cats — were auditioning for it,” Meyer said.

Donovan, who played Amber, the high school rival to Silverstone’s heroine Cher Horowitz, recalled one of...

Arthur Hamilton, “Cry Me a River” Songwriter, Dies at 98
Image
Arthur Hamilton, the Oscar-nominated songwriter best known for his smoky torch-song classic “Cry Me a River,” memorably recorded by Julie London, Ella Fitzgerald, Joe Cocker and many others, has died. He was 98.

His death was announced this week by ASCAP and the Society of Composers and Lyricists; details were not immediately available.

Hamilton received his Oscar nom for best song (shared with composer Riz Ortolani) for “Till Love Touches Your Life” from Madron (1970), performed by Richard Williams and Jan Daley for the movie Western that starred Richard Boone and Leslie Caron.

For Warner Bros.’ Pete Kelly’s Blues (1955), starring and directed by Jack Webb, Hamilton created two wistful songs for Peggy Lee, who played an alcoholic jazz singer in the musical crime film — “He Needs Me” and “Sing a Rainbow,” which would evolve into a children’s classic.

“Cry Me a River” was sung by Fitzgerald for the film but did...

Lorne Michaels Warned Jack Black About the Time Desi Arnaz Nearly Died Hosting ‘SNL’
Image
Hosting Saturday Night Live seems like an incredibly demanding gig, requiring long hours, sleepless nights and quick thinking. But at least hosts get paid a whopping five grand. Which is a lot of money for one week of work, but not a whole lot for starring in a network TV show produced by a guy who makes around $40 million a year.

One of this season’s better episodes was the one hosted by Jack Black. But despite the fact that he’s worshipped by children under 10 years old, Black isn’t exactly a kid himself anymore. Black is currently 55 years old. To put that in perspective, in just four years he’ll be old enough to play Indiana Jones’ dad in The Last Crusade.

This didn’t stop Black from giving it his all in Studio 8H, as evidenced by his raucous monologue, which found the A Minecraft Movie star...

Ben Affleck Was Brutally Roasted About 'Armageddon' by His Chidren to His Face
Image
Ben Affleck might be an Oscar-winning actor, director, and screenwriter—but according to him, his harshest critic lives right under his own roof. Recently, in an amusingly candid moment shared with Jimmy Kimmel, Affleck revealed the brutal roasting he was given by his own children while they watched his 1998 disaster blockbuster, Armageddon. Some would say it is a brave person who endures a screening of their work with their kids, others would say it is foolish.

Michael Bay’s Armageddon is a movie that has divided opinion and been debated since its release almost 30 years ago. Starring Affleck alongside Bruce Willis, Liv Tyler, and a large ensemble cast, the film was the highest-grossing movie of the year in 1998, but it didn’t exactly become the darling of reviewers thanks to its usual Bay mix of over-the-top plotline, outlandish-action sequences, and a somewhat convoluted ending. In short, its story about a...

Clueless Fashion Revival: How Cher Horowitz’s Style Still Rules the Red Carpet
Image
Released in 1995, Clueless marked a major fashion reset. It moved away from the grunge style inspired by Nirvana and introduced a polished, preppy aesthetic. Cher Horowitz’s wardrobe helped reintroduce matching co-ord sets, slip dresses, and tartan skirts, effectively rewriting American youth fashion.

In addition to coining the immortalized expressions “as if!” and “whatever!”, the 1995 American coming-of-age romantic comedy film showed another side to ’90s fashion that people who aren’t that into grunge and hip-hop style instantly warmed up to.

The 1995 film Clueless marked a pivotal shift in fashion trends, steering away from the grunge aesthetic of baggy jeans and flannel shirts.

As noted by Varsity, “Clueless redefined the look of the 90s, renewing the plaid shirt into a plaid skirt”. This transformation popularized preppy,...

Aerosmith may have said farewell for a final time at a Long Island concert in September 2023, but that won’t stop Steven Tyler and Joe Perry from reuniting for a good cause. As If! Cher Horowitz With Alicia Silverstone May Return for A ‘Clueless’ Sequel Series
Alicia Silverstone, Stacey Dash, and Brittany Murphy in Clueless (1995)
Image Source: Paramount Pictures It’s shaping up to be a notable year for the iconic 1995 comedy Clueless. The film will celebrate its 30th anniversary later this summer, and as Cher Horowitz would famously say, “As If!” Since its release, Clueless has cultivated a dedicated fanbase and continues to find new audiences through home entertainment and streaming. While a Clueless television series did air from 1996 to 1999, it notably did not feature the film’s star, Alicia Silverstone, as Cher. However, nearly three decades later, Silverstone is set to return to the role of the beloved Beverly Hills high schooler. According to a report from Variety, a sequel series is in development for Peacock, brought to you by the creative minds behind hit shows like The Oc, Gossip Girl, and Dollface. Silverstone will not only star but also serve as an executive producer on the project. Alicia Silverstone’s portrayal of...

[This story contains major spoilers from the season three finale of Yellowjackets, “Full Circle.”]

Yellowjackets needed to deliver a win, and that’s exactly what the Showtime survival saga did when it capped its third season with Sophie Thatcher screaming from the top of a mountain to the head-banging tune of Aerosmith’s “Livin’ on the Edge.”

After a deadly season that was certainly the darkest one yet from showrunners Ashley Lyle, Bart Nickerson and Jonathan Lisco, and a revelatory finale that answered not only who killed Lottie (it was Shauna’s daughter Callie, played by Sarah Desjardins) but also unmasked the long-debated identity of Pit Girl as Mari (Alexa Barajas), Yellowjackets then followed teenage Natalie, played by Thatcher, to a mountaintop after she and Misty (explaining the smile Samantha Hanratty flashed in the pilot) secretly fixed the Sat phone from the scientists and Nat made a connection with the outside world.

The fist-pumping moment puts the teenagers who have been...

Steven Tyler's Daughter Mia Alleges Why He Would Tie Scarves to Microphones While Performing
Image
Mia Tyler is revealing alleged new details about her father Steven Tyler‘s struggles with substance abuse.

The 46-year-old actress claimed that the now 77-year-old rockstar used one of his signature on-stage decorations as a tool to conceal his addiction.

“The story of why he has scarves on his microphone is because he liked to hide his pills and whatnot, so he could do them live on stage. He would have little pockets sewn so he could be on stage and just take whatever it was that he was [ingesting],” she said on a recent episode of the Sibling Rivalry podcast.

Keep reading to find out more…

Mia also said that the “Dream On” singer’s behavior was “extremely wild” during her childhood.

Steven has been on a sobriety journey for several years, and checked himself into rehab in 2022.

‘Saturday Night Live’ Highlights: Jack Black Pumps Up the Crowd at Studio 8H and at Home
Image
After last week’s slightly languid “Saturday Night Live” episode hosted by Mikey Madison, there was no doubt that Jack Black needed to bring the energy and boy, did he not disappoint. Following a pretty standard cold open featuring James Austin Johnson as Trump announcing his tariffs, as well as yet another appearance from Mike Myers as Elon Musk, Black took to the main Studio 8H stage as if he was being shot out of a cannon.

Though initially unsure if he should take another spin as host, the band playing Aerosmith’s “Back in the Saddle” prompted Black to grab a mic and use the entire studio as his stage. Not only could Bill Burr and Kieran Culkin (both currently in the Broadway revival of “Glengarry Glen Ross”) be seen in the crowd, but if you look closely, a few faces from “School of Rock” were visible as well.

Jack Black Channels Aerosmith’s ‘Back in the Saddle’ for ‘SNL’ Return
Image
Jack Black rejoiced in his return to Saturday Night Live after nearly twenty years away, singing about the occasion to the tune of Aerosmith’s “Back in the Saddle.”

Black, who most recently hosted SNL in 2005 and was the show’s musical guest with Tenacious D the following year, began his monologue by announcing he would actually have to “quit” due to the pressure. That is, until the riff to the 1976 track got the School of Rock star in the right mood.

“How dare you play that riff? You guys!

Jack Black Lights Up ‘SNL’ Stage With Lively Opening Song Featuring Marching Band: “I’m Back”
Image
Jack Black is back! The comedic veteran lit up Studio 8H with an opening musical tribute — marching band in tow — set to his newest song for A Minecraft Movie.

In his fourth time hosting, the School of Rock star joked that he was going to “quit” in the middle of his monologue, citing that it was “too stressful.” That is, until the band’ begin’s enticing riff from Aerosmith’s “Back in the Saddle” motivated him into staying.

His first time back on Saturday Night Live in 20 years, Black began his energizing performance by somersaulting onstage, crooning in perfect falsetto and rock bravado: “I’m baaaack, I’m back on Saturday Night Live again! Jack Black.”

Throughout the four-minute opener, the Kung Fu Panda voice actor journeyed up the stairs into the audience, even embracing one viewer as he sang to them, “I bet this guy did not know he’d be on TV,...

12 Hit Songs You Might Not Know Were Written for Movies
Image
When you think of songs written specifically for movies, you probably think of one of two things. First, songs from borderline-or-full-blown musicals that then became huge in their own right, like “Shallow” from A Star Is Born or “The One That I Want” from Grease. The other is god-awful songs about whatever’s happening in some terrible movie that are usually a lowlight of an artist’s catalogue, like Eminem’s “Venom.”

Occasionally, though, a song that was meant to serve as a complement to a movie becomes an unmitigated success in its own right, sometimes even eclipsing the lasting power of the movie itself.

Here are 11 legitimate hit songs you might not realize were written for a movie…

The Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris” is an absolutely iconic part of the late 1990s cultural landscape. Much more so than the movie it was actually written for,...

You Won't Wanna Close Your Eyes at This 'Armageddon 2' Update From Michael Bay
Image
In 1998, there was nowhere one could go to escape Aerosmith’s rock ballad, “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”. Grocery store? Boom, Steven Tyler’s sharp vocals. Bowling alley for midnight glow bowling? Boom, Joe Perry’s guitar solo. While we certainly have the iconic rock band to blame thank for the on-loop hit, we can also give a big nod to Michael Bay, who used the tune as the primary single from his action-packed, romance-filled movie, Armageddon. Not only was the Bruce Willis-led spacey flick one of the biggest of the year, it was one of the movies that ushered in the new millennium. During a time when we were all super afraid of asteroids crashing into Earth, Bay used our fears and raked in millions at the global box office. Now, more than two decades later, some may be wondering why a sequel was never made.

Diane Warren Remains Resilient After 16th Oscar Loss for Best Original Song: ‘I’ll Be Back’
Image
Diane Warren was denied an Oscar for the 16th time Sunday, after losing in the Best Original Song category to Emilia Pérez‘s “El Mal.” Warren, who was nominated for The Six Triple Eight‘s “The Journey,” wasn’t deterred by the loss, she told Variety. “I’m consistent as fuck,” Warren said. “You know, it is what it is. I’m happy to be here.”

Warren said she believed she had a fair chance at the 97th Oscars. H.E.R., an Oscar-winning artist, performed “The Journey,” and the Netflix-distributed...

Diane Warren Denied Best Original Song Oscar Again
Image
Diane Warren’s streak of Oscar losses continues, as the songwriter — on her 16th Best Original Song nomination — once again lost in the category for The Six Triple Eight’s “The Journey.”

Despite the 16 nominations — and eight consecutive Best Original Song nominations, dating back to 2017’s “Stand Up for Something” from Marshall — the 97th Academy Awards presented Warren with perhaps her best opportunity to win the category in years: “The Journey” was performed by an Oscar-winning artist, H.E.R., was in a widely seen movie, and was in a field where...

10 Best Oscars Performances Through the Years
Image
The Oscars event is marked by some incredible performances from artists, especially those who are nominated in the Best Original Song category. The 97th edition of the Academy Awards has decided to let go of the usual Oscars performances of the best original song nominees this year.

The decision was made as a response to the Los Angeles wildfires. Fans are not exactly upset about the decision since the Best Original Song category lacked any numbers that the audiences look forward to seeing on the stage. Fans would especially find it in bad taste to see one of the two nominated songs from Emilia Pérez on stage after the controversy associated with the film.

According to the Academy, the event will instead celebrate the songwriters through personal reflections and behind-the-scenes insights from the musicians. However, this hasn’t...

Cher turns back time with ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’ on ‘SNL50: The Homecoming Concert’
Image
Cher performed “If I Could Turn Back Time” at SNL50: The Homecoming Concert with a costume harking back to her original music video wardrobe from the 1989 single.

The song was controversial at the time. The music video was shot on board the battleship USS Missouri and portrays Cher performing for the ship’s crew, wearing a leather thong while straddling a cannon. The song peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. It was written by Diane Warren, the songwriter behind 16 Oscar-nominated hits including “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith, “Because You Loved Me” by Celine Dion, and “The Journey” by H.E.R.

“How hot was that!?” said the host of the festivities, Jimmy Fallon, about the live performance by the 78-year-old legend.

Steven Tyler Performs for First Time Since Vocal Injury Led to Aerosmith Retirement: Watch
Image
Steven Tyler gave his first performance since Aerosmith‘s retirement from touring due to the singer’s vocal injury.

Tyler played a six-song set, including Aerosmith hits, at the Hollywood Palladium on Sunday (February 2nd) as part of his Janie’s Fund Grammy watch party and benefit concert.

Although he did not share the stage with Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry (as had been announced), Tyler was backed by bandmate Tom Hamilton on bass, as well as an all-star lineup including Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt, Matt Sorum, Mick Fleetwood, and Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes.

Among the songs performed were Aerosmith staples such as “Toys in the Attic,” “Sweet Emotion,” “Dream On” (with guest vocals from country star Lainey Wilson), and “Walk This Way” (with guest vocals from pop artist Jessie J). The set was bookended by covers of Extreme’s “More Than Words” (with Bettencourt) and Led Zeppelin’s “Heartbreaker.
