The filmmaker changed Big B’s life by making him the Angry Young Man of Indian Cinema by offering him Zanjeer, a film written by Salim Javed and rejected by Dharmendra, Dev Anand, and others.

It was on Pran and Salim Javed’s insistence that Prakash Mehra cast Amitabh Bachchan after reviewing his work in Bombay To Goa. The rest, as they say, is history.

Rajesh Roshan’s music in Mahesh Bhatt’s Papa Kehte Hain was far more successful than the film.

In 2018, Amal Malik put out a remix version of composer Rajesh Roshan and poet Javed Akhtar’s 1996 hit ‘Ghar se nikalte hi kuch der chalte hi raste mein hai uska ghar’. The aged but agile doctor swoops up the dying child in his arms and runs through the jungle to the hospital. In the process, he loses his own life. The most memorable moment in Honey Irani’s noble but finally unsuccessful large-screen soap opera reminds you of Dilip Kumar trying to stop vehicles on the road to take his dying wife to the hospital in Yash Chopra’s Mashaal.
