Len Deighton's Works Adapted For TV
Oscar winning writer Simon Beaufoy ("Slumdog Millionaire") and Clerkenwell Films are developing an 18-part TV series based on the works of classic Cold War espionage novelist Len Deighton.

The series will focus on the three novel trilogies about iconic spy Bernard Samson, an ex-MI6 field agent drawn back into active duty to uncover the truth about his wife’s defection to the Kgb.

The first trilogy comprised the books "Berlin Game," "Mexico Set" and "London Match". The second was "Spy Hook," "Spy Line" and "Spy Sinker," and the third was "Faith," "Hope" and "Charity".

Granada made a 12-part TV series adaptation of the first trilogy back in 1988, then immediately withdrew it from release after the withdrawn at Deighton's instruction. Quentin Tarantino has previously expressed interest in adapting the trilogy.

Director Quentin Tarantino (Inglourious Basterds) has revealed to The Sun that he's considering making a movie based on a series of books by espionage and historical writer Len Deighton.

"One of the things I am musing about doing is the trilogy of Len Deighton books, 'Berlin Game,' 'Mexico Set' and 'London Match,'" he said.

And Tarantino already has a list of British actors that he'd love to cast.

"I am a huge fan of Simon Pegg," he said, "so I would definitely love to work with him. I also think Kate Winslet is one of the best actresses that ever lived, so I would be honored to work with her. Quentin Taratino is currently traveling around promoting "Inglourious Basterds," but that doesn't stop him from chatting about some potential projects he'd love to tackle.

While talking to the Sun, Tarantino revealed that he would love to bring some of author Len Deighton's books to the big screen, particularly "Berlin Game," "Mexico Set" and "London Match."

Of course, Tarantino also mentioned a few names he said he would love to work with. "I am a huge fan of Simon Pegg, so I would definitely love to work with him," he told The Sun.

Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino is desperate to make a movie in England - so he can hire British talent like Sir Michael Caine and Kate Winslet.

The Pulp Fiction director admits several of his favourite actors hail from the U.K. and dreams of one day recruiting them to shoot a film on British soil.
