Recently, director Neil Marshall sadly revealed that, despite years of trying, the long-awaited action horror sequel Dog Soldiers 2 is not going to happen. But fear not werewolf fans! Marshalls time with the classic movie monsters is now over! After revealing the bad news about Dog Soldiers, the filmmaker declared that he is now working on another action horror outing involving lycanthropes: The Werewolves of London.
Marshall took to Instagram to reveal the first details about the project, which is now in (very) early development, showing off the first artwork from the film as well as the deliciously tantalizing tagline, Grow your hair. Howl at the moon. Devour human flesh. The things we do for love. Check out what Marshall had to say about the movie below.

‘Dog Soldiers’ director Neil Marshall has announced that a sequel to his werewolf movie is not going ahead. The 2002 horror flick follows a small squad of soldiers who are sent to meet with a special ops unit in the Scottish Highlands, only to find a bloody massacre before they realise they are being hunted by werewolves, and since its release it has gained cult status.Marshall had plans for a sequel titled 'Dog Soldiers 2: Underdogs' but he has now revealed that it won't be happening after negotiations between himself and producer Christopher Figg, and I.P. owner David E. While werewolf movies were all the rage in the 1980s thanks to hits like An American Werewolf in London, The Howling, and yes, even Teen Wolf, by the 2000s they had lost a lot of their bite until director Neil Marshall came along with his first feature film, Dog Soldiers. Set in the Scottish Highlands, the film traces a group of soldiers trying to survive against a vicious pack of werewolves, and presents audiences with an ultraviolet movie that utilizes practical effects to deliver one of the most unique takes on the mythical beast ever seen. Its a cult favorite today, and though a sequel has long been in the works, Marshall took to social media yesterday to share some heartbreaking news about its development.

Director Neil Marshall made one of the all-time coolest werewolf movies with his 2002 film Dog Soldiers (watch it Here), so it’s shocking that we’ve never gotten a sequel, especially considering we’re living in a world where An American Werewolf in Paris exists, and there have been eight Howling movies. A few years ago, Marshall said there was “more of a chance” of the sequel happening than ever before… but in a recent interview, he said he feared that Dog Soldiers 2 is dead in the water. Now, he has taken to social media to confirm that there’s little to no hope of Dog Soldiers 2 ever happening – so he’s going to make a different werewolf movie, The Werewolves of London, instead.
There have been rumors and premature announcements about a sequel to Dog Soldiers ever since the film made its debut in 2002. Oddly, for several years the...

We recently celebrated the 22-year anniversary of Neil Marshall’s Dog Soldiers here on Bloody Disgusting, a fan-favorite werewolf movie that’s still without a sequel. While a promising update on the anticipated sequel would soon follow, the filmmaker took to Instagram this afternoon with disappointing news.
Dog Soldiers pit soldiers up against werewolves in the Scotland wilderness, and a trilogy of films was the original plan. In fact, it had been announced back in 2004 that Dog Soldiers: Fresh Meat was in the works. Of course, that never ended up coming to fruition.
While Marshall was hard at work trying to get the sequel greenlit, it seems as though all plans have fallen through. The director shared a fan-made poster for the sequel on social media and detailed that, despite valiant efforts, Dog Soldiers 2 is no longer in the works.

The episode of Best Horror Movie You Never Saw covering Dog Soldiers was Written by Cody Hamman, Narrated by Kier Gomes, Edited by Juan Jimenez, Produced by John Fallon and Tyler Nichols, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
A group of well-trained soldiers are dropped into the wilderness. Where they start getting picked off by a mysterious attacker. It quickly becomes apparent that their enemy is some kind of monstrous creature. And the weapons they have aren’t so effective when the target isn’t human. This sounds like a description of Predator – but it’s actually Dog Soldiers (watch it Here). Which is one of the coolest werewolf movies ever made, and The Best Horror Movie You Never Saw.
Neil Marshall knew from an early age that he wanted to be a filmmaker. Raised on the classics from the ‘70s and ‘80s, he was especially fond of horror. The films of John Carpenter,...

2002 cult British werewolf movie Dog Soldiers was released over two decades ago, and demand for Dog Soldiers 2 has only grown with time. Dog Soldiers was a smaller English werewolf story about a group of soldiers taking part in a routine military exercise in the Scottish wilderness, only to be set upon by vicious beasts. While Dog Soldiers didn't make much of an impact when it was first released, it has since developed a cult following among horror movie fans. With this passionate fanbase behind it, the hopes for a Dog Soldiers 2 have been kept alive — by the director too.
Director Neil Marshall made his feature film debut with Dog Soldiers in 2002. While the premise is straightforward and the budget quite modest, Marshall's skills as a filmmaker helped to elevate Dog Soldiers to become something greater than the sum of its parts. Add to that a talented ensemble of actors...

Hey, remember that “Dog Soldiers” sequel that we first/last reported on, oh, about 3 years ago? Turns out it’s still very much alive, albeit still stuck in the very early stages. Not only is “Dog Soldiers 2″ (previously going under the subtitle “Dead Meat”) still alive and gestating, but the folks behind the franchise have created a web series called “Legacy” to, hopefully, tie you over until the sequel finally gets up and running. More on the “Legacy” web series: Dog Soldiers: Red was filmed in Northwest Arkansas in the last weekend of August 2011. “The trailer brings back a sense of the unique werewolf style that we have all come to love from the original Dog Soldiers film” stated Kismet vice president D.
