David Hyde Pierce
Exclusive: David Hyde Pierce Is The Perfect Host
David Hyde Pierce
David Hyde Pierce discusses his intriguing role in The Perfect Host, shooting on such a tight schedule, and much more.

David Hyde Pierce is an actor I always wish we'd see more of. After starring on the hit TV series Frasier for 11 years, the actor continued to work, but mostly in voice roles. We finally get to see him on the silver screen once again like we've never seen him before in the upcoming indie The Perfect Host, which will be available in both theaters and video-on-demand platforms July 1.

David Hyde Pierce plays Warwick Wilson, who has been meticulously planning a swank dinner party. Things start to go awry when a criminal named John Taylor (Clayne Crawford) crashes the party under an assumed identity, looking for refuge after just robbing a bank. However, as the evening unfolds, we learn the mild-mannered Warwick Wilson is much different than he appears to be.

The Perfect Host (2010) Movie Trailer: Nick Tomnay, David Hyde Pierce
The Perfect Host Movie Trailer has premiered. Nick Tomnay‘s The Perfect Host (2010) stars David Hyde Pierce, Clayne Crawford, Nathaniel Parker, Helen Reddy, and Megahn Perry. The Perfect Host‘s plot synopsis: “A criminal on the run cons his way into the wrong dinner party where the host is anything but ordinary.” The film starts out one way then completely changes direction, much like David Slade‘s Hard Candy (written about here: Hardy Candy (2005) Film Review), which starred Ellen Page and Patrick Wilson. I doubt The Perfect Host is as brillant as Hard Candy from this movie trailer but who knows, it might be. The beauty of Hard Candy is that it never gave anything away in its promotinal materials. This film does. I love the fact that Warwick Wilson (David Hyde Pierce) is even more violent and twisted than robber/criminal John Taylor (Clayne Crawford). The Perfect Host also stars Joseph Will,...

Dark Blue: TNT Drama Renewed for Season Two
Despite a big drop in viewership, TNT has decided to give Dark Blue a second chance.

Dark Blue revolves around a group of Lapd officers who work so far undercover that even their coworkers and loved ones don't know what they actually do. The series stars Dylan McDermott, Omari Hardwick, Logan Marshall-Green, Nicki Aycox, Meta Golding, Tyrees Allen, Channon Roe, and Noah Bean.

While the July 2009 premiere attracted 3.5 million viewers, the ratings declined heavily over the season. The last episode brought in just 1.6 million, leading many to believe that Dark Blue would not be renewed. The show's chances weren't helped by the fact that TNT picked up NBC's discarded Southland series.

But, TNT has apparently decided to stick with Dark Blue for now and has renewed it for a second season of 10 installments. The first season aired...
