‘The Boys’ Season 5 First Footage: A ‘Supernatural’ Reunion, Seth Rogen Cameo and Homelander’s ‘Safer, More God-Fearing Nation’
Image
“The Boys” couldn’t let “Gen V” have all the fun at San Diego Comic Con.

At the very end of the “Gen V” Season 2 panel on Friday afternoon, the upcoming fifth and final season of “The Boys” showed its very first teaser to the crowd of attendees in Ballroom 20. It was a brief teaser, packed with tons of superhero violence and gore — as fans of “The Boys” have come to expect — and quick looks at the new and returning cast members.

The action unfolded quickly, but a couple of the highlights included a new supe character vomiting up what appeared to be a bloody hairball onto another character and someone having what could only be described as a violent explosion in a bathroom stall.

Seth Rogen, who’s an executive producer on “The Boys” and has appeared in a handful of cameos across the previous seasons, also made an appearance in the teaser.

Jason Statham's $104 Million Beekeeper Predecessor Movie Is Quietly Dominating Streaming
Image
Three years before The Beekeeper, Jason Statham starred in the equally successful action hit Wrath of Man. Now, the movie is finding success on Hulu after being added to the streamer's library at the start of July.

Per FlixPatrol, a day after being added to Hulu, Wrath of Man has already landed on the streamer's Top 10 Movies list, currently sitting in the No. 9 spot. If the Statham-led action movie wants to climb higher on the chart, it will have to go through several popular features, such as the 1996 sci-fi blockbuster Independence Day, the 2013 crime comedy The Heat, the modern Disney classic Holes, and the Liam Neeson drama film Absolution. Wrath of Man's streaming success comes three years after the movie, a remake of the 2004 French film Cash Truck, conquered the box office, grossing $104 million worldwide against a $40 million budget.

Ridley Scott's New Movie Is Dethroned on the Global Streaming Charts by Guy Ritchie's Indiana Jones Replacement

Via Flix Patrol,Fountain of Youth is the #1 movie in the world on Apple TV+, edging Echo Valley out of the top spot with 909 points compared to the latter's 905 points. Mm Is the Only Character in The Boys Who Doesn’t Need V to Feel Like a Threat
Image
If there is one thing that The Boys knows how to get right, it is iconic characters. Across its four seasons, the show has created some of the most memorable moments in the superhero genre. While most of these situations consist of characters that have superpowers, the majority of the fight sequences gain weight because the titular team does not have superpowers.

While the lack of powers is what made the series appealing during its initial seasons, both Hughie and Butcher eventually also get powers, even if it was for a brief amount of time. Even Frenchie has his substance abuse, and Kimiko’s powers as a leg up in fights. With this, there is no denying that Mother’s Milk is the only character who knows how to beat Supes without powers.

Mother’s Milk doesn’t need powers to be a threat in The Boys

The Boys Season 5 Star Promises 'Very Gross Moments' and Plot Twists 'You Are Not Expecting'

The Boys are back in town for one more wild ride as the satirical superhero series' fifth and final season draws closer. One of Season 5's stars teases an "amazing" conclusion to the show, but promises some "very gross moments" pushing new boundaries.

According to the Canadian actor, he's "excited" to see the fans' reactions to every story turn, including what happens to his mysterious character.

The Boys: One Scene Proved Mm Is the Real Snake in Hughie’s Life and Not Butcher
Image
The Boys is as flawed as it is diabolical. A series that exists more in the grey area, its characters are no different, each having their own share of wrongdoings that cannot be justified. But at the same time, there are some characters whose actions are more morally wrong in comparison to others.

While there are several such instances in the series, there is one scene that makes many question whether the real snake in Hughie Campbell’s life might actually be Marvin T. Milk, a.k.a. Mm. Given Billy Butcher’s unpredictability, Mm often appears to be the team’s moral compass, but is he really the good guy?

Guy Ritchie’s New Adventure-Hunting Mystery Is a Global Streaming Hit Despite Abysmal Rotten Tomatoes Scores
Image
Guy Ritchie will always be known for his work on classic crime thrillers like Sherlock Holmes and The Gentlemen, but earlier this year, he released a new film that’s climbing streaming charts. Ritchie stepped behind the camera to direct Fountain of Youth, the globetrotting mystery adventure film following two siblings and their journey to reconnect as they search for the Fountain of Youth. Despite releasing nearly three weeks ago, receiving poor scores of 36% from critics and 40% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, Fountain of Youth has found continued streaming success. The film is streaming on Apple TV+, and it’s the #1 most popular movie on the platform in 98 countries as of yesterday. Despite its star-studded cast, Fountain of Youth did not premiere in theaters and was released straight to streaming.

Some Apple movies in the past, like Napoleon and Argylle, have been released in theaters before they premiered on the streamer,...

‘Fountain of Youth’ Review: A Muddled Quest
Image
John Krasinski, Domhnall Gleeson and Natalie Portman in ‘Fountain of Youth’ (Photo Credit: Apple TV+)

Despite a big-name cast, Guy Ritchie’s latest action-adventure, Fountain of Youth, is a surprisingly shallow experience. The film tries for a fun, witty vibe but misses the mark entirely, coming off as a watered-down version of far better treasure-hunt movies. At its best, it’s a sort of National Treasure-lite, but those brief moments don’t come close to justifying the two-hour runtime, which feels like a real grind.

Four-time Emmy nominee John Krasinski’s normally able to lift average material, but not in this case. Oscar winner Natalie Portman also doesn’t inject anything special into the globe-trotting adventure. The fight scenes feel generic, and the stunts give off a serious “been there, done that” vibe. And Fountain of Youth‘s fantastical setups, while expected to be outlandish in this genre, are just...

The Fountain Of Youth – Review
Image
(L-r) Eiza González as Esme, Natalie Portman as Charlotte and John Krasinski as Luke, in The Fountain Of Youth. Courtesy of Apple TV+

The Fountain Of Youth is director Guy Ritchie’s, latest, an action/adventure tale starring John Krasinski and Natalie Portman, as a brother-sister duo hunting for the mythical Fountain of Youth. The Fountain Of Youth is a globetrotting adventure yarn blends Raiders Of The Lost Ark, Name Of The Rose, and National Treasure with an art heist thriller. Yet, there is little thrilling here, as the characters, plot and tropes are all too familiar, while the talented stars are miscast in their roles.

Guy Ritchie is a director who burst on the scene with a pair of clever twisty crime thrillers, Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch, but mostly failed to live up to that early promise. With The Fountain Of Youth, all that remains...

With Fountain Of Youth, Apple TV+ Has Finally Made Its First Netflix Movie (And That's Not A Good Thing)
Image
At first glance, "Fountain of Youth," Guy Ritchie's new action-adventure film made for Apple TV+, looks like a fun, family-friendly romp about an intrepid explorer and thief named Luke Purdue (John Krasinski), who recruits his sister Charlotte (Natalie Portman) to join him on a quest to find the mythical "fountain of youth." Joined by Charlotte's son Thomas (Benjamin Chivers), a billionaire seeking the fountain to cure his terminal cancer named Owen Carter (Domhnall Gleeson), Luke's old accomplices Deb McCall and Patrick Murphy (Carmen Egojo and Laz Alonso), and a competing explorer/thief named Esme (Eiza González) who keeps tracking Luke, they all set out to find the fountain that's been mentioned across continents and cultures for centuries.

This sounds at least a little promising. The end result is anything but. "Fountain of Youth" is a slog that stretches for 2 hours and 5 interminable minutes, stranding Krasinski, Portman, Gleeson, and all...

And their advice was, if it’s Greg Daniels, you should do it because getting to work with him is a treat that not many people get to have.”

Daniels created the NBC mockumentary series The Office, which ran for nine seasons from 2005 to 2013, featuring Carell and Krasinski among its ensemble portraying the employees of Dunder Mifflin Paper Company in Scranton,...

‘Fountain of Youth’ Ending Explained: What Happened to Owen Carver in the End?
Image
Spoiler Alert !!!Spoilers ahead for Fountain of Youth

Guy Ritchie’s latest treasure hunt film, Fountain of Youth, surprisingly hit the streamer instead of theaters. While the film’s amazing set pieces make the streaming release feel like a bad decision, John Krasinski isn’t exactly the crowd puller, especially in this role. He plays Luke Purdue alongside Natalie Portman, who plays his estranged sister Charlotte Purdue.

Luke accepts a gig from billionaire Owen Carver, played by Domhnall Gleeson, which leads him to engage in some very illegal heists. Charlotte gets pulled into this pursuit for the Fountain of Youth along with her son Thomas. They are on the run from Interpol officer Jamal Abbas and Eiza González’s Esme, who is a protector of ancient artefacts.

If there's one person who can wax poetic about the legendary Fountain of Youth, it's travel enthusiast Rick Steves. In a new Apple TV+ video, the iconic host is just about ready to take viewers on yet another journey when he is interrupted by some pretty famous faces. The hilarious video is just a little stunt to tease the streamer's new movie, which debuts on the catalog today.

In the video, Rick Steves is preparing to introduce one of his documentaries when none other than John Krasinski (The Office) quite literally jumps out of nowhere. The host is surprised at the unexpected companion, but decides to take it in stride and continue with his introduction. However, he is forced to stop almost immediately when Natalie Portman (Thor: Love & Thunder) also walks in and notes that the subject Rick is talking about would be great for a movie. Finally, Krasinski...

Guy Ritchie’s ‘Fountain of Youth’ Fails To Find Treasure With Disappointing Rotten Tomatoes Score
Image
Guy Ritchie’s new movie will premiere on Apple TV+ tomorrow, and fans everywhere are curious to see if the legendary action director’s new film is worth watching. The review embargo for Fountain of Youth lifted earlier today, and reviews for the film began pouring in, painting a picture of what kind of adventure Ritchie has crafted for his next directorial outing. Unfortunately, the film has earned enough scores to be given a 38% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. This comes from 26 reviews at the time of writing, which is a relatively small sample size that still leaves room for change. However, it’s enough to give it the dreaded “rotten” label on the aggregate site. An audience score on the Popcornmeter won’t be revealed until at least tomorrow, once the film is streaming on Apple TV+.

Leading the charge in the Fountain of Youth cast is John Krasinski,...

John Krasinski & Natalie Portman's New Apple Adventure Movie Debuts With Disappointing Rotten Tomatoes Score
Image
John Krasinski and Natalie Portman's new Apple TV+ adventure movie debuts with a disappointing Rotten Tomatoes score. The former is widely known as Jim Halpert from The Office. From there, he leveraged that fame into one of his passion projects – co-writing, directing, and starring in the post-apocalyptic horror movie A Quiet Place, followed by writing and directing its sequel, A Quiet Place Part II. Recently, Krasinski has opted for more family-friendly fare – including writing, directing, a voicing a role in the fantasy comedy If.

On the other hand, Portman is widely recognizable as Padmé from the Star Wars prequel trilogy. From there, she went on to become one of the most acclaimed actresses of her class, earning three Academy Award nominations for Closer, Jackie, and winning one for her performance as a troubled ballerina in Black Swan. Portman also has a strong track record in action movies, from her...

Fountain of Youth (2025) Movie Review: Mission Impossible meets Indiana Jones in this Guy Ritchie actioner bogged down by insufferable dialogue-writing
Image
Guy Ritchie’s ‘Fountain of Youth’ revolves around the Purdue siblings who reunite a while after drifting apart for some unsurprising reasons. Their father was a known explorer. So, they chose to follow his legacy, but their lives took different turns. Charlotte (Natalie Portman) became an art historian, while her brother Luke (John Krasinski) became an art thief. She spends her days at a respectable job in an English art gallery while he secures artifacts for his clients. She wants to use her knowledge to help others learn, while he wants it to benefit a select few who hire him. Apart from that, Luke seeks the thrill and the excitement of the act itself. He wants to explore often for the fun of exploration.

That’s essentially the emotional hook for this Guy Ritchie actioner, written by the ‘Zodiac’ scribe James Vanderbilt. Their characters are driven by the pursuit of...

Fountain Of Youth Review: An Indiana Jones Knock-Off Lacking Excitement
Image
Director Guy Ritchie exploded onto the film scene back in 1998 with the frenetic "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels," a scrappy but earnest crime flick that established the young director's iconoclastic voice and propensity for bloke-forward, sweatily masculine stories. Ritchie's films are rarely elegant, and only look as polished as his budgets will allow. He tends to vaunt flippant, laidback protagonists, who would just as soon fire up a bong with you than go on an adventure. His Sherlock Holmes was less a detective as a brilliant dude with his own man-cave and a membership to a fight club. In his "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.," when Napoleon Solo (Henry Cavill) released he had been drugged, he casually laid down on a couch, careful not to muss his hair; he knew what being drugged felt like. Even Ritchie's King Arthur (Charlie Hunnam), in the ultra-bomb "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword,...

4 Eric Kripke shows to watch (and 2 to skip)
Image
When it comes to showrunners, Eric Kripke is one of the most consistent. You know what to expect, and if you don’t, then you haven’t seen enough of his content. He’s a lover of urban myths, history, and downright absurdity, and he’s also a man who likes to create something timely and timeless all at the same time.

The majority of people will know Kripke for his CW series Supernatural, but he has worked on many other shows and movies before that. Since his Supernatural days, he’s become a creator to watch out for, but that doesn’t mean everything he’s made is something you need to watch right now. Although I’ll admit that it was hard to put a show to skip on this list.

“It’s Also Exactly What Butcher’s Going Through”: Eric Kripke Reveals ‘The Boys’ Season 5 Will Play Into Homelander and Butcher’s Similarities
Image
The Boys has never been afraid of staying in line with the times. In fact, it’s kind of the Prime Video series’ whole thing. Whether intentional or not, the show has mirrored many of the things actually happening in our world, and its upcoming fifth and final season will be no different. But, the last batch of episodes won’t only paint a clearer picture of how the fictional universe’s politics parallel our own, but, according to series creator, Eric Kripke, the primary antagonist and protagonist will also begin to blur together as one.

While chatting with TV Insider, Kripke was quick to point out the close comparisons between the leader of the titular anti-supe vigilante team, Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), and his archnemesis, Homelander (Antony Starr). Setting up what’s to come in the fifth season, Kripke teased,

“[Homelander’s] story in the season was one of mortality and legacy.

'It's Sort of Tragic': The Boys Showrunner Reveals What Homelander Really Wants More Than Anything Else
Image
The Boys' fifth and final season culminates the long-running Homelander saga, with fans awaiting the payoff to his many controversies and an expected clash with Billy Butcher. As deplorable and self-serving as Homelander can be, showrunner Eric Kripke believes that despite the Seven leader's dastardly ways, there is something less sinister at the heart of the character that fuels him.

Speaking with TV Insider, Kripke teased what fans can expect from Homelander in Season 5 and offered insight into what makes Antony Starr's character tick. Though Homelander is hard to sympathize with, considering his penchant for chaos, Kripke insists his desire to be loved is at the root of his complexities.

"The thing about Homelander — and I was just talking to Antony about this yesterday — is it’s sort of tragic, actually, but ultimately, the guy just wants someone to love him. He tries amassing all of this power just...
