Father of Daniela Thomas.

Hosted an one-season talk show in 1982. He was the very first to interview father Helder Câmara, who notably promoted Human Rights when Brazil lived under under military dictatorship. Câmara, like Ziraldo himself, suffered threats for being a revolutionary.

Disapproved the changes to his characters' original looks in A Very Nutty Boy (2006). It was then provided on his request.

Majored in Law.

Was seven-years-old when his first artwork was published in a local newspaper in Belo Horizonte.

Founded a carnival group along with his "Pasquim" co-workers and the late Brazilian personality Leila Diniz: the Ipanema street band. It is still active as of 2022 (although paused due to the COVID-19 pandemics).

Joined the revolutionary newspaper "O Pasquim" in the 1960s.
