    • Trivia
In 1978 the Professional Photographers Association of America demanded he be fired from Lou Grant (1977) and threatened a sponsor boycott. Within a year, however, News Photographer magazine, the publication of the National Press Photographers Association, put him on its cover and acknowledged that his portrayal had heightened interest in photojournalism among young people.
