Fans Rank the Top 10 Flash Actors of All Time
Image
The Flash stands out as fiction’s most famous speedster, having been adapted many times in both animated and live-action formats. Over the decades, various actors have portrayed the iconic character, with some resonating more with audiences than others. Fans on Ranker recently rated all actors who have taken on the Flash roles, including both voice and live-action performances. We’ve compiled a list of the top 10 based on their rankings. Let’s dive in!

10. Kenny Johnston DC

This film, presented as a mockumentary about the titular superheroes, was originally intended as a pilot for a Justice League TV series that never came to fruition. Although his time as the Flash was short, Johnston’s role earned him a spot in the top 10.

This 'Transformers' and 'X-Files' Crossover Needs to Be Adapted On-Screen
Image
Quick Links Transformers in an 'X-Files' Comic? This Could Be So Much Better Than G.I. Joe

Even though 2023’s Transformers: Rise of the Beasts turned out to be the biggest box office disappointment in the franchise, the single post-credit scene at the end of the movie teased that the iconic robots in disguise could see a crossover with another Hasbro property, G.I. Joe. Not only is there the possibility of actors from previous G.I. Joe movies reprising their roles, but in an interview with Collider, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura even said, "Transformers will have more emotions and agency than ever before!"

Even with all these reports coming in about this upcoming live-action crossover in the series, fans of both properties are eager to point out that events such as this have happened plenty of times in the Transformers comic continuity. 10 Iconic Actors Who Hurt Their Legacies With Disappointing Final Movies
Image
To achieve the status of a true icon in Hollywood, actors must work consistently to prove their skills across years and decades, although this can also mean that some legacies end better than others. Although many performers are immediately associated with success and prestige, when looking at the final entries in some stars' filmographies, certain movies tarnish their incredible legacies. This may be due to an actor's declining popularity in their later years or just strange creative decisions that led to the release of lackluster final movies.

Some of the greatest actors of all time have an unfortunate final film that failed to live up to their best work. While many of these final movies had their merit, they just did not have the same level of gravitas or impact as the films that made them famous and that they will be primarily remembered for. Although some actors are able...

Where To Watch Every Transformers Movie
Image
Many of the Transformers movies are available to watch on streaming now, giving audiences time to catch up before Transformers One. Over the years, Transformers has gone through multiple iterations, including the TV series The Transformers in the 80s as well as numerous other films. The bulk of the Transformers live-action movie series is now synonymous with Michael Bay, who has been involved with the vast majority of the series.

The Transformers movie universe is expanding with the release of Transformers One. Unlike its most immediate predecessors, Transformers One is a fully animated project. It explores the backstory of Optimus Prime and Megatron, who grew up as friends before becoming notorious enemies later on in the series. Additionally, a Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover movie is in the works. Those interested in catching the Transformers series can do so on streaming platforms.

Live-Action Voltron Reboot Reportedly Greenlit at Amazon MGM Studios
Image
The live-action reboot of Voltron has officially been greenlit by Amazon MGM Studios. The animated franchise, which initially debuted in 1984, has been quite lucrative, producing a variety of television shows over the years, the most recent being Netflix's Voltron: Legendary Defender. Despite all these new additions and specials, a live-action adaptation has been in the wind for a while.

In fact, it was reported in 2022 that Rawson Marshall Thurber, director of the hit film Red Notice, had been assigned to write and direct the live-action Voltron film. However, it was still in the development stage, so many speculated it might even be canceled, especially given the complexity involved in producing these projects.

"What's The Matter With Him": How Steven Spielberg Recommendation Got Brendan Fraser Recast In 1995 Animated Movie
Image
Steven Spielberg's desire for efficiency led to Jim Cummings' casting as Steele in Balto. Cummings' villain role was originally supposed to go to then-rising actor Brendan Fraser. Opting against a notable on-camera actor, Spielberg chose to cast a seasoned voice actor.

Actor Jim Cummings explains how Steven Spielberg managed to get him recast in the movie Balto. Balto is a hand-drawn, 2D animated animal adventure film about a Husky whose life is put in peril when he is tasked to try to prevent a deadly epidemic from spreading. Balto was directed by Simon Wells and features a leading voice cast including Kevin Bacon, Bob Hoskins, Bridget Fonda, Cummings, Phil Collins, Jack Angel, Danny Mann, and Robbie Rist. The film was produced by Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment.

Speaking on Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum, Cummings recounts how Spielberg assisted his casting in Balto.

10 Essential Movies About Artificial Intelligence
Image
In the midst of our excitement for this week’s release of Alex Garland’s “Ex Machina” (which is fantastic and reviewed here), it hit us: 2015 is teeming with artificial intelligence movies. The Singularity is not far off and this swell has practically come out of nowhere, with last year’s awesome Disney hit “Big Hero 6,” the disastrous Johnny Depp vehicle "Transcendence," and 2013’s British indie-sleeper “The Machine” amounting to most of what the subgenre has had to offer in the decade so far. As a way to compensate for this human error, 2015 is going to be much more artificially and intelligently inclined, with the theme replete in a variety of mainstream and indie sci-fi films.

We’ve already seen “Chappie”. This week comes the aforementioned Garland movie, and coming soon is Joss Whedon’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” Don’t forget that “Terminator” is back this year, with...

Wreck-It Ralph and Gang Flee in this New Poster
Yes, it's a 16th poster addition for Disney's animated Wreck-It Ralph starring John C. Reilly, Jack McBrayer, Sarah Silverman and Jane Lynch. It seems that I spoke to soon about poster 15 being probably the last poster for Wreck-It Ralph. With now just 2 days to go until release of November 2nd, 2012, can it be we'll get yet another onesheet? This new Latin onesheet is very slick for the Rich Moore film which also includes Jamie Elman, Brandon T. Jackson, Stefanie Scott, Scott Menville, Jack Angel, Jamie Elman, George Kotsiopoulos and Gerard C. Rivers. The story tells of Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) who is tired of being overshadowed by Fix-It Felix (voice of Jack McBrayer), the “good guy” star of their game who always gets to save the day. Comic-Con 2012: Schedule of Headliners
The Comic-Con 2012 schedule has now been released in full, and barring any major updates, is set. The blessing and curse of being an attendee is deciding which panels/autograph sessions/special events to attend, when they conflict. And they always do.

For you to see for yourself, below are what we are calling the “headliner” panels; those panels that are taking place in Hall H, Ballroom 20, Room 6Bdf, and the just-next-door Hilton Indigo Ballroom, the four major venues for panels. There are descriptions of each panel as well as the show(s) and/or movie(s) they are there to discuss.

See how many conflicts you might have, or how you might arrange time and space to somehow attend these plus spend every day in the vendors’ Exhibit Hall and chasing zombies in the nearby The Walking Dead Escape. By the way, if you figure that out, Please let us know.

There's More Than Just 'Ted': The Top 5 Animated Teddy Bears In Movies
With "Ted," Seth MacFarlane's tale of a grown man and his anthropomorphic, foul-mouthed teddy bear, opening this weekend (and for the most part proving to be foul-mouthed fun; look for our review very soon), we got to thinking about the childhood playthings of our (cinematic) past. Considering what a truly influential and fundamental part of childhood having a teddy bear is, it's kind of astounding that there aren't more memorable teddy bears on the big or small screen out there.

Still there's more than one who've found their way into key roles in major motion pictures, and as a result, we've put together a little bluffer's guide into the history of the cinematic history of our ursine pals, with the major proviso that, like Ted in "Ted," they had to be animated -- fans of "Grizzly Man" should look elsewhere. Check out our selection below, and you can see "Ted" in theaters from Friday,...

The Smurfs Blu-ray Invades Sony Pictures Animation
Alan Cumming, Jonathan Winters, Fred Armisen, George Lopez, Anton Yelchin, and Katy Perry in The Smurfs (2011)
Back in June, I was invited to the Sony Pictures Animation facility to get an early look at The Smurfs, so it's only fitting that I came back to Spa for an event celebrating The Smurfs on three-disc Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD December 2. The three-disc Blu-ray includes the brand new animated short The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol, a smurfy version of the classic Charles Dickens story. The short centers on Grouchy (George Lopez), who is normally rather happy during Christmas, but is his usually cantankerous self this year. Papa Smurf brews up a potion to get Grouchy back into the Christmas spirit, which features the Smurfs of Christmas Past, Present, and Future.

I got to watch this animated short at Spa, which is a lot of fun, especially for longtime fans of the original animated series, since most of the short is done in the traditional hand-drawn style fans of...

Exclusive: Troy Quane and Kurt Albrecht Talk The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol

Director Troy Quane and producer Kurt Albrecht discuss The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol

It isn't uncommon for an animated movie such as The Smurfs to include a bonus short film on the Blu-ray or DVD release. The Smurfs hits the shelves on three-disc Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD release on December 2, and the three-disc Blu-ray will include the holiday-themed short The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol, which puts a smurfy spin on the classic holiday tale by Charles Dickens. I recently had the chance to speak with The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol director Troy Quane and producer Kurt Albrecht at Sony Pictures Animation, where we got to screen this wonderful animated short, which mixes in the old-school hand-drawn animation with the new style shown in The Smurfs. Take a look at what the director and producer had to say below.

Thor – Then and Now on TV
In August 1962, Jack Kirby, Stan Lee, and Larry Lieber created Thor, a new superhero based off of the Norse God, and from that issue of Journey into Mystery, the God of Thunder has gone onto become one of the iconic heroes associated with the Avengers. Even though his big screen debut was in this summer’s Thor (reviews here and here), and will be seen next year in Marvel’s The Avengers, Thor has had numerous incarnations on TV, both in live-action and in animation, so with Lionsgate’s release of Thor: Tales of Asgard May 17th on Blu-ray/DVD, Killer Film takes a look back at the other appearances of the God of Thunder.

God of Thunder and rock and roll. The spell you’re under, will slowly rob you of your virgin soul – Kiss

Four years after his first comic book appearance, Thor appeared on the animated show...

[DVD Review] A.I. Artificial Intelligence
After twelve years of work on A.I. Artificial Intelligence, the great master Stanley Kubrick passed away. He had already handed the directing reins of the project to Steven Spielberg, who saw the film through to release in 2001, an apt year for Kubrick’s final project. For that is what this film is. While A.I. is undeniably directed by Spielberg, complete with his trademark style of lighting and camera movement, it is also undeniably dominated by the mind of Kubrick. What should have been the penultimate collision of two filmic pioneers, however, is an unfortunate miss.
