'Kick-Ass 3' Is Not Moving Forward at This Time

Shortly after Kick-Ass hit theaters in 2010, plans for a sequel were already under way, since it made just under $100 million worldwide from a $28 million production budget. The follow-up Kick-Ass 2 didn't do quite as well, though, earning just over $60 million worldwide from a $24 million budget, leaving the future of the franchise in question.

Mark Millar, who co-created the comic book series with John Romita Jr., revealed in a new interview with Comic Book Resources that he isn't quite sure if Kick-Ass 3 will happen or not.

"I can tell you exactly where we're at. I'm always 100% straight up with these things -- to the point where I'm always revealing stuff two or three years before it's supposed to get out. The film will also be available on Digital HD on December 3, 2013.
