Mother of Konkona Sen Sharma.

The media speculated over her closeness to Indranath Guha, owner of South Point, the biggest school of Asia. He and his wife Surupa were quite popular on the Calcutta social circuit. Indranath and Aparna's husband Sanjoy were good friends. Indranath's wife passed away after having a glass of lassi. Her death is still surrounded by mystery.

First husband was ad film maker Sanjoy Sen (Brother Ajoy Sen). They were married in the early 1970's. Sanjoy ended up taking his own life.
