Lamberto E. Antonio was born on 9 November 1946 in Cabiao, Philipines. He was a writer, known for Insiang (1976) and Sekretaryang walang silya (1976). He died on 6 July 2024 in Manila, Philippines.
Recipient of major awards for his poetry and prose, Antonio presented his third collection of poems. Antonio was described by a critic as the most persuasive voice in contemporary Tagalog poetry, a poet who spoke for the oppressed, whether peasant or worker, without any touch of affectation.
