Soundtracks in Netflix’s Wednesday aren’t just background noises, but they help shape major scenes, carrying on the morbid, mischievous, and stylishly gothic tale ahead. So while we cannot wait to hear what songs the second season of the show will have, here is a comprehensive list of every original track and every licensed song featured in Season 1 of the Netflix show, from classical pieces to modern pop and rock.
Wednesday, created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and produced under the direction of Tim Burton, is a stylish supernatural mystery series starring Jenna Ortega as the darkly brilliant Wednesday Addams. Spoiler Alert: This piece contains spoilers for the first two episodes of Wednesday Season 2.
One notable absence from the sophomore season of Alfred Gough and Miles Millar’s Wednesday is that of broody artist Xavier Thorpe (Percy Hynes White), who played a significant love interest for Jenna Ortega’s titular main character in Season 1.
Ahead of Season 2’s launch, it was confirmed that Hynes White wouldn’t be returning alongside two other stars in series regular capacity — Jamie McShane, who portrays Tyler’s (Hunter Doohan) father Sheriff Donovan Galpin and Naomi J Ogawa, who played Yoko Tanaka. White posted a photo of the cast on his Instagram story two days later, wishing the cast luck and saying he had fun filming Season 1.

A hungry zombie, a Hyde monster, killer birds, even Uncle Fester — “Wednesday” Season 2 unleashed all kinds of mayhem in the midseason finale, titled “If These Woes Could Talk,” which brought the four-episode Part 1 to a close.
As Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) closed in on the mystery of the Aviary murderer, she got some assistance from the Addams Family, calling in Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen), the perfect person to infiltrate a psychiatric ward. She also got some vital info from Grandmama Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley) that helped her solve the mystery.
The episode also brought back Season 1’s big bad, Laurel Gates, aka Marilyn Thornhill (Christina Ricci), Tyler’s master who masqueraded as a professor at Nevermore. And speaking of which, Wednesday had a tense, violent standoff with her former beau, Tyler (Hunter Doohan), leaving things on...

“Wednesday” is back, and this time, so is the Addams family.
In Season 2 of the hit Netflix series, Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) returns to Nevermore Academy flanked by her relatives: her younger brother, Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez), who is now a fellow student, and her parents, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez (Luis Guzmán), as Morticia has accepted a fundraising job on campus. But it’s not a happy reunion: Having her family around is a major source of irritation for Wednesday, especially because of the protections Morticia has tried to impose over her use of her psychic powers.
At the end of Season 1, Wednesday was beginning to come into her own as a psychic thanks to the connection she made with one of her ancestors, Goody Addams (also played by Ortega). And by her own metric, she mastered that ability over her summer break,...

This article contains spoilers for "Wednesday" season 2.
Netflix's "Wednesday" series is easily one of the most intriguing shows on the platform. Its identity is fascinatingly hard to pin down; as a modern-day version of "The Addams Family" characters, it's a current take on the humorous, satiric, long-running series, one that's even more so now that the rest of the Addams clan have been more incorporated into the show. As a series set in an exclusive boarding school for gifted Outcasts, it's a bit of a teen drama. As a prestige streaming series, it's a mystery show soaked in horror, with oodles of creepy creatures and shady characters vying to be the next murder suspect.
For all these reasons, "Wednesday" has a lot going on, as does the titular character played by Jenna Ortega. One of the biggest mysteries of season 2 involves Wednesday's psychic abilities, which helped her survive the...

Genndy Tartakovsky has spent much of his career considering what’s appropriate for children, whether at Cartoon Network or at the helm of three Hotel Transylvania films. Now, with the R-rated Fixed, he’s off the leash, and using traditional animation rather than CGI. But even if Tartakovsky achieved a sense of catharsis from being able to animate a dog’s bouncing nutsack, it doesn’t translate to a fulfilling viewing experience.
That nutsack belongs to Bull (Adam DeVine), but not for long. His human owners have had enough of him humping everything from Grandma’s leg to the backyard garden hose, and now he’s set to be neutered. Bull, though, isn’t about to take this lying down—especially when it might ruin his chances with the show dog next door (Kathryn Hahn). So he breaks out of his backyard and sets out for a raucous night in the city,...

The second season of Netflix's "Wednesday" is a pleasant surprise. Not only does it bring back so many of the strongest elements of the successful first season — chief among them Jenna Ortega's superlative performance as Wednesday Addams — it also jettisons the aspects about that season that weren't working, replacing them instead with more delightfully tried and true elements. The series is now much more of an "Addams Family" show, with the entire clan more present. It also allows director Tim Burton to infuse more of his signature touches on the series, including a neat stop-motion animation sequence and a perfect blend of humor and horror.
Another noticeable change to the show is how it shifts focus a little bit more toward an episodic rather than serialized structure. Where the first season was written and paced in a similar fashion to...

A show about Elvis as a secret agent from "Archer" writer Mike Arnold and singer-screenwriter John Eddie sounds wild enough to become a hit — or, at the least, a cult favorite. Sadly, "Agent Elvis" wasn't given long enough to become either, as Netflix canceled the zany enterprise after its first season. That is, the streamer axed the animated series several months after season 1 was made available, which might seem odd, but 2023 was a tumultuous year that claimed many a show too soon.
The cancellation of "Agent Elvis" was perhaps one of the biggest disappointments, if only because the show had so much promise and hype prior to its debut. The series' trailer promised an outlandish romp featuring Matthew McConaughey as a secret agent version of The King, while early footage from "Agent Elvis" similarly teased a stylish animated show that /Film's Rafael Motamayor described as "striking," noting that "Elvis has never looked better.

Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers for Season 2 Part 1 of “Wednesday.”
After defeating an evil resurrected pilgrim, a hyde and its master in Season 1 of “Wednesday,” the Addams family heroine (Jenna Ortega) finds herself at the center of an even more urgent mystery in Season 2. There’s been a new string of murders in Jericho, and according to one of Wednesday’s psychic visions, her roommate, Enid (Emma Myers), might be next.
Wednesday quickly figures out that she’s dealing with an avian, someone with the ability to control birds who is using them to kill people. She was too late to save Sheriff Galpin (Jamie McShane), who was in the middle of his own investigation when he died, but is able to recover some of his evidence: the obituaries of several outcasts who were patients at the Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital. Each newspaper clipping is connected on a bulletin board to the name Lois.

Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams is back and ready for whatever Nevermore Academy and Jericho, Vermont throw at her in Season 2, Part 1 of which is now streaming on Netflix.
The first four episodes involve the pigtailed psychic student reacclimating to life at the school for Outcasts, which has seen a change in leadership after the death of Principal Larissa Weems (Gwendoline Christie). Now Barry Dort (Steve Buscemi) has to step up and fill her shoes, and he has a different tactic for running Nevermore. A potential Wednesday spinoff receives an enticing update from one of the show's Addams Family actors. Season 1 of the Jenna Ortega-led series proved to be a record-breaking streaming hit for Netflix, and season 3 was already renewed ahead of season 2's debut on the streaming platform.
In 2023, Netflix's plans to expand this IP were reportedly already underway, with rumors of a spinoff show revolving around Wednesday's quirky Uncle Fester Addams (Fred Armisen). Since then, there have not been many updates about this chapter of the Wednesday universe, although show creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar recently confirmed that they have been prioritizing seasons 2 and 3 over the spinoff.
While speaking with Deadline, Armisen was asked if the Uncle Fester spinoff is still in development and if he feels any pressure when bringing comedy to parts of the show steeped in the horror genre. Check out his comments below:
No, there’s no pressure.

It feels bizarre that Wednesday returns at a time when Halloween is still months away. The show that became a runaway Netflix hit — while creatively reinvigorating director Tim Burton and turning Jenna Ortega into a generational star — radiates creepy, kooky and altogether ooky vibes, spinning the Addams Family character into her own Harry Potter-for-goth-kids YA detective series with hugely fun results. But Wednesday’s return at the height of summer speaks to Netflix’s blockbuster approach for the show’s second season — much bigger and starrier, a Stranger Things-like glow-up in scope, with somewhat mixed results.
The not-so-secret weapon in Season 1 was Ortega herself — knockout casting, elevating the material with deliciously deadpan delivery. She remains excellent here, relishing every cutting line. “It’s Addams with two Ds,” she declares early on. “Like ‘padded room’.” We’re reunited with Wednesday during her idea of...

In the previous episode of Wednesday season 2, not only was there a shocking death at Camp Jericho, but the first season's villain was revealed to be back. Christina Ricci reprises her role as Marilyn Thornhill, who's now locked up in Willow Hill. Dr. Fairburn wants Thornhill's help "unlocking" Tyler, and even though she initially turned down the offer, she accepts under the condition that she can see Tyler just once. He immediately attacks her through his cage.
Meanwhile, Wednesday peaks through a mausoleum at a cemetery and is surprised by the arrival of her Grandmama (Joanna Lumley). She shows Grandmama the details of her latest mystery and how it connects to her vision of Enid's death. When Grandmama opens Patricia Redcar's urn, they discover that human ashes are not inside. Suddenly, the one-eyed crow arrives and steals Wednesday's evidence.

This post contains major spoilers for "Wednesday" season 2.
Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) might've returned to Nevermore Academy with the belief that she has this place figured out, but fate has other plans for our gloomy, deadpan protagonist. This comes after season 1 teased a mysterious stalker (who seems to be the one committing murders in season 2), setting Wednesday on the path of pursuing a fresh, macabre mystery.
However, this is partially revealed to be a fake-out, as the stalker in question is Agnes DeMille (Evie Templeton), a fellow Outcast student and Wednesday super-fan with nifty invisibility powers and a creepy obsession with proving herself useful. But while Agnes' misguided intentions are (mostly) benign, the individual who's committing the murders in season 2 is still out there, leading Wednesday to deduce the presence of a second, deadlier Avian stalker.
In episode 4, titled "If These Woes Could Talk," all hell breaks loose. Before these events,...

Not since Ralph Bakshi’s Fritz the Cat and its sequel have cartoon animals gotten so down and dirty as they do in the latest animated effort by director Genndy Tartakovsky. Depicting the travails of a dog facing the fate alluded to in the title, Fixed plays like a canine version of The 25th Hour, except that instead of going to prison the next day, the main character is about to be neutered.
Those who are easily offended may want to steer clear of this Netflix movie, co-scripted by Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack, Hotel Transylvania) with Jon Vitti (The Simpsons). But if, let’s say, South Park is a regular part of your animated diet, you’ll find plenty of amusement in this relentlessly raunchy and vulgar comedy.
A perfectly cast Adam DeVine plays the central role of Bull, who is clearly experiencing the male dog version of heat. He’s relentlessly horny,...

As Netflix’s hit supernatural series Wednesday returns with Season 2, the new series also holds some interesting facts. Wednesday Season 2 Part 1 arrives today, on August 6, and Part 2 arrives on September 3. After a three-year hiatus, the series once again returns to the gothic halls of Nevermore Academy. Jenna Ortega reprises her role as the deadpan teen Wednesday Addams. The series is also renewed for season 3 ahead of season 2’s release.
In Season 2, Wednesday faces a darker, more complex journey. She navigates new mysteries along with family, friends, and old adversaries. According to creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, “Nothing is what it seems in season 2” (via Tudum). From a stalker to expanded roles for the Addams Family, the new chapter will “snap back” the season.
Before you press and play, here are six interesting facts you need to know from Wednesday Season 2.

Guess who’s back!
If you thought Christina Ricci’s Marilyn Thornhill, aka Laurel Gates, was gone forever after that intense Wednesday season one finale, I hate to break it to you, but she’s made a surprise return in season two, Part 1 of the hit Netflix series.
At the end of the first season that released back in 2022, Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) discovered that Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan) is the monster, known as a Hyde, behind all the mysterious deaths. However, he was actually “activated” and controlled by Ricci’s character to kill outcasts, as the Gates family had been trying to rid the world of outcasts since the 1600s when their ancestor Joseph Crackstone was killed by Wednesday’s ancestor Goody Addams.
When Laurel attempted to resurrect Crackstone so he could finish what he started, Wednesday stopped her. The season one finale concluded with Laurel getting attacked by Eugene’s (Moosa Mostafa) bees,...

Plot: Wednesday Addams, returns to prowl the Gothic halls of Nevermore Academy, where fresh foes and woes await. This season, Wednesday must navigate family, friends and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem. Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery.
Review: The first season of Wednesday became a massive hit for Netflix despite a quintessentially CW-style approach to storytelling. But, armed with the unique visual style of director Tim Burton and a supporting role from The Addams Family movie star Christina Ricci, Wednesday was anchored by Jenna Ortega’s pitch-perfect take on the macabre teenage protagonist. While the story of Wednesday attending Nevermore Academy felt like a horror-tinged take on Nancy Drew, the series had its charms and easily garnered a second season. After three years of waiting, Wednesday is back with...

Did you watch the first season of Netflix’s Wednesday and come away wishing for more mystery and less humor, more of the secondary members of the Addams family and less of Jenna Ortega’s Emmy-nominated performance, more of the supernatural world of outcasts and less of the real world for contrast?
It’s Ok not to remember exactly. Wednesday premiered nearly three years ago, a duration also known as “adolescence” for most of the underaged supporting cast.
Fortunately, and conveniently, few of the specific plot details from that well-received season are all that relevant. There are enough expositional reminders here for a general catch-up, but the truth is that the new season of Wednesday is so generic that my biggest challenge was separating my memory of the first season from nearly identical dynamics that played out in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Percy Jackson and the Olympians and...

What's to be done about those who are themselves strange and unusual? The typical answer is for culture to either assimilate or reject the outcasts; if their quirks cannot be embraced and worked into more digestible form for the masses, then they must be renounced, laughed at, and diminished. This is the artistic struggle that filmmaker Tim Burton has dealt with for the entirety of his career, and he's been around long enough to have experienced all the facets of issues with trendiness and conformity. For the first half of his career, Burton's oddball traits were resoundingly praised. Then, like his Edward Scissorhands or Oswald Cobblepot, the luster faded, either in his own work or the public's liking of it (or perhaps a mixture of both), and he endured a period of great financial success mixed with ill reception. In the last several years, Burton has appeared to reach...

Wednesday, the fan-favorite, mystery-oriented spin-off/reboot of the long-running Addams Family franchise, has finally returned for a second season on Netflix after three long years of waiting. Indeed, fans have been chomping at the bit for more of Jenna Ortega and Tim Burton’s fresh new take on the beloved Addams daughter, and you can count me amongst them as someone who’s had a soft spot for Charles Addams’ kooky creations since high school.
But with the pedigree of the first season and the long hype cycle for Season 2, can the final product actually live up to those expectations? Right now, I am happy to report that the answer is mostly yes. Season 2 is at least as good as the first season, and by the end I could easily see it being better. Though please bear in mind that this only applies to the first four episodes, as that...

“Here We Woe Again” is an apt title for the Season 2, Part 1, opener of Netflix’s mega-hit “Wednesday.” Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar with Tim Burton in the director’s chair, the series follows Wednesday Addams (a perfectly cast Jenna Ortega) — a macabre, black cloaked teen with psychic abilities. Having spent her summer break honing her prophetic visions and indulging in a game of chicken with a serial killer, Wednesday returns to Nevermore Academy for the fall term. Yet, things aren’t as they once were. A shocking mystery quickly begins to occupy Wednesday’s time, leading her to uncover some haunting secrets concerning Jericho and its history with outcasts. Additionally, a lot more is revealed about the Addams family lore, including the root of Wednesday and Morticia’s (Catherine Zeta-Jones) strained relationship. Full of zing and depth, the season remains just as thrilling as the first.

While it’s nearly as frustrating to review a half-season of mediocre television as it is to see it solely as a fan — especially if you were anticipating its return for the better part of three years — “Wednesday” Season 2, Part 1, at least makes it easy to investigate the lingering questions in its mundane murder-mystery without verging into spoilers.
Showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar continue to map a conventional teen drama onto the ostensibly unconventional Addams Family I.P. Their star, Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega), may be allergic to colors and obsessed with the macabre, but she’s handled like any other identifiable introvert who doubles as a reluctant hero. Behind her dark wardrobe and dour demeanor lies benevolence and bravery. She solves mysteries! She makes friends! She cares, despite insisting she doesn’t!
Good for you, kiddo. Keep wearing that goth getup as long as you want.

Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have been writing together ever since they met at USC’s Peter Stark producing program in the early ’90s and sold their first script to New Line Cinema.
After countless movies and TV series, this week they premiere Season 2 of their popular series “Wednesday,” executive-produced by Tim Burton, on Netflix. Having sampled the first four episodes, I can attest that Season 2 is even more delicious than Season 1.
For one thing, for budget reasons, the showrunners had to trim some Season 1 subplots, thus relying more heavily on young star Jenna Ortega, now age 22, in the title role of Addams daughter Wednesday, an amateur supernatural detective in her first year at outsider school Nevermore Academy. This time around, with Netflix loosening the purse strings, the series expands with new characters including eager-to-please Nevermore Principal Dort (Steve Buscemi) and Grandmama Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley), while giving more time...

“Wednesday” star Jenna Ortega knows that people worry about interactions they have with her because of her “resting bitch face.” But, when “Late Night” host Seth Meyers offered a potential solution for the actress on Monday night, she was left a bit speechless.
During her appearance on the NBC talk show, Ortega admitted that she’s long been a fan of her co-star Fred Armisen, and would often quote lines of his. That said, Ortega noted that “he has no idea how obsessed with him I am,” because she’s good at playing it cool around people.
Meyers immediately guessed that most people can’t tell if Ortega is excited to meet and interact with them, which the actress confirmed. But, when Meyers suggested that that’s actually a “good skill,” Ortega disagreed a bit.

Wednesday season 2 approaches, here’s a quick overview of season 1 ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Wednesday premiered on Netflix and 2023 and took the world by storm. This Tim Burton story, a spinoff of the Addams family story, became a rage for its gothic tale of trust, betrayal, and a lead who loves all things dark. The light comic elements, paired with a good dose of emotional touch created a somewhat balanced experience.
The first season of Wednesday introduced us to the core members of the Addams family, namely, Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, and Pugsley. After a string of rustication from schools for seemingly violent and unconventional behaviour, Wednesday joins the Nevermore Academy, her parents’ alma mater. There, she comes face to face with her identity and heritage as an Addams family member. From befriending the colourful and bubbly werewolf Enid to finding herself attracted to Tyler, Wednesday goes on a journey of serious...

The series presents a view of adolescence that is as accurate as it is rare.
There are some shows that I prefer to watch right away when a new episode debuts, and others that, for whatever reason, don’t prompt the same level of urgency. “Big Mouth” falls into the latter category; I’ve been a fan of the series for many years, but I don’t believe I’ve ever watched the show on its season premiere date. Season 8 of “Big Mouth” is no exception, and though I’m a few months late to the party, the show was nevertheless the best thing I watched this week.

Let’s start with the obvious: “Big Mouth” is hysterical. The show centers on a group of teens who are working their way through adolescence, and the group of imaginary critters that accompany them through this journey.

An Oxford-set college rom-com from the guy behind The Inbetweeners; the return of one of Netflix’s biggest ever shows; Genndy Tartakovsky’s latest adult animated project; Vanessa Kirby’s return to more intimate dramas about the human condition; a documentary that promised to shed new light on the Jussie Smollett hate crime incident; and a murder mystery film featuring several British and Irish acting icons are some of the highlights among the new films and series hitting Netflix in August.
Kicking off August is the rom-com My Oxford Year, which focuses on the tried and trusted formula of a young American girl heading to stuffy old Europe and finding love with some impossibly handsome and terribly charming guy, so it’s almost guaranteed to find a huge audience. In this instance, Sofia Carson plays Anna, an ambitious American student at Oxford University whose life is changed when she meets...

It's been two years since Netflix released I Think You Should Leave With Tim Robinson Season 3 to rapturous praise with a new set of quotable sketches that lived rent-free in viewers' heads. In that time, however, updates have been few and far between for a potential return of the gloriously unhinged comedy series, aside from the occasional affirmation that it's still coming eventually. Ahead of the release of his new The Naked Gun reboot, Akiva Schaffer was finally able to provide some more clarity beyond the fact that the show isn't dead like Corncob TV. Speaking to Collider's Steve Weintraub, he gave some insight as to how much is already written and when Tim Robinson and the team should kick the series back into gear.
When Robinson last spoke to Collider about the status of the series, he couldn't say much other than that he and co-creator Zach Kanin...

Wednesday Season 2 on Netflix is nearing its premiere on August 6, 2025. The upcoming season is going to be split into two parts. The upcoming season has a brand new roster of fresh faces, but fans are going particularly gaga over one addition: Lady Gaga. Popular for her genre-bending creativity, Gaga seems like the most fitting addition to the franchise, set to appear in a guest role in Season 2 Part 2 (via Netflix).
Speaking about working with her to Variety, Tim Burton expressed:
She’s such an artist, and so for me, working with an artist is inspirational.
He also recently teased the possibility of collaborating with the actress/singer at the Giffoni Film Festival in Italy. When asked if he can confirm whether he’ll ever work with Gaga again, he replied, “No, I can’t. But I dope so”. And that gives us hope. While we wait to witness Gaga in...
