The anticipation around the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot continues to grow, with Sarah Michelle Gellar, the woman behind Buffy, teasing the actor she’ll be passing the torch to. On Instagram, the actress revealed that Ryan Kiera Armstrong will be the leading lady for the series reboot, which is set to release on Hulu.

Ryan Kiera Armstrong has been a rising name in Hollywood circles thanks to her roles in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, Firestarter, and American Horror Story: Red Tide. The Buffy reboot will not involve original series creator Joss Whedon due to the many controversies that have dogged the director since the release of 2017’s Justice League.

“Sullivan’s Crossing” Season 3 just wrapped up its run, bringing us back to the Crossing with 10 new episodes. The CW romance returned in May after a slight release date delay — and a few weeks after the season debuted in Canada, where it airs on CTV.

Ryan Kiera Armstrong is reportedly all ready to take up the mantle from Sarah Michelle Gellar in the upcoming Buffy reboot. Gellar portrayed the titular character in the 1997 show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Her performance not only charmed the audience but also went on to make a lasting impression on popular culture.

As such, news of the iconic show’s revival had millions of fans on edge. This new announcement about Ryan Kiera Armstrong joining Gellar as a castmate has only brought more joy to the fans. There is, however, one concern that has been hounding people who have been following Gellar and her show for years.

That is, the inherently toxic environment she spoke of pervaded the set of the 1997 series. Hence, many people are wondering if, much like the show, the toxicity, too, would make a comeback in the future.

In every generation, there is a chosen one...and in this generation, that chosen one is Ryan Kiera Armstrong. The Star Wars: Skeleton Crew star will lead the new Buffy the Vampire Slayer series. Variety reports that the actor will star alongside original slayer Sarah Michelle Gellar in the upcoming horror series.

Says Gellar, who will executive produce the series and recur as Buffy Summers, "From the moment I saw Ryan’s audition, I knew there was only one girl that I wanted by my side. To have that kind of emotional intelligence, and talent, at such a young age is truly a gift. The bonus is that her smile lights up even the darkest room." The series, which was announced earlier this year, will feature Buffy as a mentor to Armstrong's new slayer; any other plot details, or returning characters from the original series, are being kept under wraps.

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot's development is moving quickly. The highly anticipated project has been in the works for many years, but it wasn't until early this year that the project received an encouraging update.

After years of turning down the idea of returning to Buffy, series star Sarah Michelle Gellar confirmed in February that she was working on a Buffy sequel series alongside Chloé Zhao as director and Nora and Lilla Zuckerman as writers. Now, Deadline has officially confirmed that Gellar will reprise her role as Buffy Summers, and the sequel series will star a new slayer: Ryan Kiera Armstrong, as Hulu has officially ordered a pilot for the series.

Exclusive: Psychological thriller She Came Back (formerly known as Maternal), starring Anne With An E and Stranger Things actress Amybeth McNulty, has set a domestic release through Tricoast Worldwide.

TriCoast will release digitally in April, 2024, with a limited theatrical run beforehand. Raven Banner will handle international sales at the upcoming EFM and release in Canada.

The movie follows the journey of Charley (McNulty) who, after a near-death experience, is haunted by her relationship with her deceased mother.

Directed by Megan Follows, who co-stars, cast also includes Kris Holden-Ried (Departure), Athena Karkanis (Manifest), and Colm Feore (The Umbrella Academy).

The Firestarter remake has found its titular pyromaniac in It Chapter Two star Ryan Kiera Armstrong. Moving from one Stephen King adaptation to another, Armstrong has reportedly been cast in the new Firestarter as Charlie, the role played by Drew Barrymore in the original movie adaptation. A first look photo of Armstrong in character with charred clothing has also been revealed, showing that the young actress has already started work on the project.

Already established as a child star, Armstrong previously appeared in the horror sequel It Chapter Two as a little girl maimed by Pennywise when he lures her under the bleachers at a ball game. After starting her acting career in 2015, she has since worked alongside many big names in Hollywood like Julie Taymor, Julianne Moore, Alicia Vikander, Timothy Hutton, Bill Skarsgard, Amanda Seyfried, Milo Ventimiglia, Kevin Costner, Chris Pratt, Scarlett Johansson, Betty Gilpin and J.K. Simmons.

With production underway on Blumhouse's new adaptation of Stephen King's Firestarter, it's been revealed that Ryan Kiera Armstrong has joined the cast (including Zac Efron and Michael Greyeyes) as the pyrokinetic Charlie.

This past Saturday (10/20) this writer, along with actresses Natalie Victoria (DeadHeads) and Carlee Baker (The Woman)' made the drive from Hollywood to Temecula, CA, to participate in Run For Your Lives, a zombie-infested 5K obstacle course race and lived to tell about it.

A national phenomenon, this past weekend’s Run For Your Lives event was set up at Vail Lake, Temecula, and in addition to the well-organized race, it included live bands, food and alchohol vendors and a Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines booth (the film streets tomorrow, 10/23, on DVD and Blu-ray via Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment), where filmmaker Declan O’Brien spent some time signing materials after completing his heat (no lie, I had to talk him into the former, and as it turned out, he was happy I did).

So how does Run For Your Lives work? It’s pretty straightforward.

After watching the movie I know why it's unrated and went straight to DVD, the film would have never received a R rating due to the gore, sex and nudity shown. Wrong Turn 4 is directed by Decian O’Brien (Wrong Turn 3) and stars Terra Vnesa, (Sive Girls), Dean Armstrong (Saw 3D) and Kaitlyn Wong (Locked Down). Wrong Turn 4 is a bit of a prequel to the original Wrong Turn.

Director Declan O'Brien talks Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings, shooting in an old mental institution, the incredible amount of blood he used, and much more

Back in March, I had the chance to visit the set of Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, where I got to meet director Declan O'Brien and his cast. I recently had the chance to speak with Declan O'Brien again, to discuss the Blu-ray and DVD release of this horror prequel, which will arrive on October 25. This new movie takes us back to the early days of the cannibal brothers Three Finger, Saw-Tooth, and One-Eye, as they feast on a group of young college friends who lose their way. Here's what the director had to say below.

You directed the third movie, and you talked a bit on the set about what you wanted to do with this fourth movie, bringing...

Wrong Turn 4 Red Band Trailer. Declan O’Brien‘s Wrong Turn 4 (2011) red band movie trailer stars Dean Armstrong, Blane Cypurda, Tenika Davis, Kristen Harris, and Scott Johnson. Wrong Turn 4‘s plot synopsis: “Follows a group of friends that decide to go snowmobiling during their winter break. They make a “wrong turn”, getting lost in a storm, and seek shelter in an abandoned sanatorium. They are completely isolated by the storm and are thankful they can get out of the elements. But the sanatorium has a troubled past, and some of its former patients still reside there and are not happy about the intrusion. In a deadly game of cat and mouse, the college kids must fight to survive the night.”

This looks like a dumb horror sequel with nothing going for it but copious nudity and gore…not that there is anything wrong with that.

Director Declan O'Brien (Wrong Turn 3) again sets out to direct a Wrong Turn film. This time the title is Wrong Turn 4 or Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings. This third sequel is really a prequel as events take place before the first film in 1973. The disfigured cannibals One Eye (Dan Skene), Three Fingers and Saw-tooth (Scott Johnson) escape from a a sanitarium. Then their path of destruction is set, with some cozy campers coming by for a visit in 2003. They will not stay long, however. Before you know it Wrong Turn 4 has turned into an enjoyable horror feature that is unfortunately hampered with elements of predictability.

These three killers, mentioned above, appear in Wrong Turn 3; so, you know that they will be surviving this film. Only one question remains: how steep will the body count be?...

Being from Minnesota, I am no stranger to snow and cold weather. However, after living in Los Angeles for almost four years, the only time I usually experience a frigid locale is when I go home for Christmas. It seems this year is the exception, though, because back in March, I was invited up to the Brandon, Manitoba, Canada set of Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings, which will be released on Blu-ray and DVD October 25. Aside from giving me a unique chance to dust off my winter gear, I was in for a bloody good time on the set. No, I didn't just slip into a British accent there for no good reason, I meant the set was really, really bloody.

After two flights and a two and a half hour car ride, we arrived at the Brandon Mental Health Care Centre in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, and I could see...

Honestly ... can you think of a better way to kick off your weekend than by spending a little time with some brutal and bloodthirsty hillbilly cannibals and coming out unscathed? Yeah, man! That's a pretty tall order!

Declan O'Brien's Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings stars Sean Skene, Daniel Skene and Scott Johnson play Three-Finger, One-Eye and Saw-Tooth, respectively, and the Skene brothers' father, Rick, serves as the film's stunt coordinator. Jennifer Pudavick, Tenika Davis, Kaitlyn Wong, Terra Vnesa, Victor Zinck, Jr., Dean Armstrong, Ali Tataryn, Arne MacPherson and Samantha Kendrick round out the body count with Blane Cypurda, Tristan Carlucci and Bryan Verot portraying the disfigured brothers at the heart of the series during their formative years.

Look for the film on Unrated Blu-ray and DVD on October 25th! Just in time for everyone's favorite day of the year. While official specs are forthcoming, we can tell you that...

Wrong Turn 4 has been described as a bit of a prequel to the original Wrong Turn.

“We’ve got five more days, and we’ve switched to days and interiors so I can see the light,” Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings director Declan O’Brien told us of the production while on the set this past March 7, 2011, in the below-zero clime of then wintry Brandon, Canada. “We completed all of the exteriors already so it’s going to be a pleasure.”

Serving as a prequel to the 2003 Rob Schmidt-directed killer hillbilly flick that launched the franchise and written and directed by O’Brien (who returns to the franchise following his helming of Wrong Turn 3: Left For Dead), this fourth entry not only serves to document the events that created the series’ rural cannibals but also presents the modern story of a group of wayward skiers who find themselves seeking refuge in an abandoned insane asylum during a blizzard.
