‘City Of Dreams’ Filmmakers Giving Away $1 Million In Sneak Preview Tickets To Roadside Attractions’ Child Trafficking Drama

With the theatrical release of Roadside Attractions’ child trafficking drama City of Dreams coming up, the filmmakers will be giving away $1 million in free tickets for a series of sneak previews beginning Wednesday, August 28, the studio announced today.

It’s expected that the giveaway will result in more than 50,000 moviegoers coming out. The hope is to bring out trafficking survivors and individuals from anti-trafficking organizations, as well as schools, churches, municipalities, and people who might not otherwise be able to afford a screening. Complimentary advance preview passes are available at the link.

In the top 25 markets nationwide, iHeart Media will provide live coverage, with on-air talent on site to help bring added awareness to the issue of child trafficking. The ticket giveaway was made possible through a donation from John Devaney, founder of United Capital and Manor House Films.

The 17th annual FedEx/St. Jude Angels and Stars Gala benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital united philanthropists, influencers and celebrities who raised $800,000 for the fight to end childhood cancer on Saturday, May 18, at the InterContinental Hotel in downtown Miami.

Galileo Galilei was an Italian astronomer and mathematician, and one of the most important historical figures in the development of modern physics.

It's 1609, and a skint, grumpy Galileo teaches mathematics in Padua. He is played by Topol. Yes, Topol, from Fiddler on the Roof. Critics were sniffy at the time, complaining that he didn't bring intelligence to the role – unlike, they said, the mostly British supporting cast, which includes Tom Conti and Edward Fox. In fact, Topol isn't that bad. He emphasises Galileo's earthiness instead of restrained scientific dignity, but that's a reasonable interpretation.
