The Fear Street film trilogy is widely regarded as one of the best horror thriller franchises in recent memory, and fans can now look forward to a fourth installment titled Fear Street: Prom Queen, which is set to premiere on Netflix in 2025. All three prior movies in the series were released on the platform in July 2021, with each one coming out in the subsequent weeks. Following the release of Fear Street Part Three: 1666, director Leigh Janiak expressed interest in continuing the story, apparently wanting to create a slasher film that takes place during the 1980s. By November 2023, Netflix's Head of Film, Scott Stuber, confirmed that it would be a standalone movie rather than the continuation of the prequel events.
In the third film, evil was seemingly vanquished thanks to the continued efforts of Sarah Fier (Kiana Madeira), Ziggy (Gillian Jacobs), and Hannah (Olivia Scott Welch), but the finale suggests otherwise.

With only a few more episodes left in season one, the Justice Society and the Injustice Society are headed towards a massive collision. The Injustice Society is now on the prowl for the person that is trying to expose them, while the Justice Society is in full-on montage mode with Pat’s training.
Mike, fresh from his paper route job, catches Pat and Courtney arguing over their training methods, which Pat quickly covers up as “driving” lessons. Courtney wants a more hands-on approach to the training while Pat wants to establish rules for training. It’s a funny scene as obviously Mike and Barbara have no clue that their loved ones are superheroes and Pat isn’t really teaching Courtney how to drive.

"I'm not trying to control you, I'm trying to protect you." Vertical Entertainment has released an official trailer for an indie sci-fi drama titled Only, the second feature film from up-and-coming filmmaker Takashi Doscher (of Still previously). This originally premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last year, and arrives in theaters next month. After a comet releases a mysterious virus that begins to kill all the women in the world, a couple's relationship is severely tested. They hide out (from both the illness and the savages who hunt the remaining women) in their over-sterilized apartment, until they must venture out into the wilderness once again. Starring Leslie Odom Jr. & Freida Pinto, along with Chandler Riggs, Jayson Warner Smith, Joshua Mikel, Mark Ashworth, and Tia Hendricks. Not an original idea, but perhaps the film is good. Sometimes it’s fun to watch little low-budget indie horror films. They may not be great films, but I’ve seen a lot of them that are actually pretty entertaining. I try to give the underdogs a chance, and today we have a trailer for a film to share with you called Along Came the Devil 2.
The first film was released last year, and it was actually pretty good. The sequel comes from the same filmmaker Jason DeVan, and it looks like it could be solid horror thriller. Here’s the synopsis:
After receiving an unsettling voicemail, Jordan returns home, looking for answers, only to find her estranged father and even more questions. A demonic force has attached itself to the town and no one is safe. The only one who seems to know anything is the small town's Reverend.
The film stars Bruce Davison, Laura Slade Wiggins (Shameless), Mark Ashworth (Magnificent Seven), Cassius DeVan,...

"What I'm about to tell you is going to be very difficult to understand..." Gravitas Ventures has unveiled the first trailer for horror sequel Along Came the Devil 2, a follow-up to the horror film from last year about possessed woman. Writer/director Jason DeVan returns again for this next one, which seems to tie in loosely to the first. After receiving an unsettling voicemail, Jordan returns home, looking for answers, only to find her estranged father and even more questions. A demonic force has attached itself to the town and no one is safe. The only one who seems to know anything is the small town's Reverend, of course. The horror sequel stars Laura Wiggins, Bruce Davison, Mark Ashworth, Cassius DeVan, Tiffany Fallon, and Heather DeVan. Doesn't look like this is going to be any good? Nothing new here. But maybe it's just me. Here's the official trailers (+ poster...

We have a brand new trailer for Along Came the Devil 2. This serves as a sequel to last year's Along Came the Devil, which didn't make much of a splash at the box office (or really any splash at the box office) but it must have done well enough on the VOD market to justify a follow-up. And by the looks of it, we've got some low budget possession horror goods on the way this fall, for those who need a fix in that department.
The trailer is a little tough to get a grip on at first. There's a spooky incident at a church and a reverend who seems determined to do away with this evil, whatever it may be. The meat of the trailer is one, single extended sequence that looks like the kind of thing we see at least once or twice a year in the mainstream horror realm,...

A modestly budgeted, cannily made survival drama centered on a fictional coal mine explosion in Appalachia, “Mine 9” plays a little like a humble blueprint for a more extravagant Hollywood exercise in high-octane heroism: Squint a little, and you can see how Peter Berg and Mark Wahlberg, say, would muscle out the solemn, simple narrative devised here by writer-director-producer Eddie Mensore. That’s not a criticism of “Mine 9,” which is most interesting for the ways it avoids the standard gung-ho dramatics of a disaster movie, treating its male ensemble as heroes and victims in equal measure.
Neither is it a stringent exercise in docu-realism, however, as a streak of heartland sentimentality runs through its gritty tragedy. Dedicated to the hard-up coal-mining community in the closing credits, Mensore’s film aims chiefly to highlight the typical plight of an American underclass that rarely gets big-screen attention. That it does with honesty and conviction,...

"Paycheck ain't going to mean shit if you die two miles in, Kenny." View the first official trailer for an indie survival horror-thriller titled Mine 9, about a horrible mine disaster trapping nine men underground. From filmmaker Eddie Mensore, the film takes place in the Appalachians, where miners working two miles into the earth end up stuck underground after a methane explosion leaves them with only one hour of oxygen. Mine 9 stars Terry Serpico, Mark Ashworth, Kevin Sizemore, Clint James, Drew Starkey, Alpha Trivette, Erin Elizabeth Burns, Francine Locke, and Elizabeth Houston. The other recent big mine survival film was The 33, based on the true story. This one looks very dark and murky and muddy, of course, but also a bit more violent and crazy and dangerous. That horror wink at the end of this trailer is a bit odd. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Eddie Mensore's Mine 9,...

Outside of Quentin Tarantino, it seems like no one is really attempting to do Westerns anymore. This week, one does hit in the remake of The Magnificent Seven. This film, the latest take on the material, seeks to not just follow in those footsteps, but in Tarantino’s as well, echoing Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight in the process. Aside from remakes like 3:10 to Yuma, you have to look far and wide to find other Westerns these days, with the last memorable one perhaps being The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Come Friday though, Antoine Fuqua seeks to give you all another one to love. This remake, which is not only a remake of The Magnificent Seven film of the same name, but also Seven Samurai, is an action Western. Here, when a town is being terrorized by a land thief (Peter Sarsgaard), they...
