Jenny Morrill Dec 20, 2016

In the 80s, Christmas was about seeing which fantastic fare the TV had decided to bless us with. Going Forward
Comedian, writer and actress Jo Brand returns as Kim Wilde in a spin-off from her award winning BBC series Getting On. Going Forward is a brand-new three-part comedy for BBC Four that turns the spotlight on the Cinderella of the NHS, domiciliary care, along with the patched-up domestic lives we all lead.

Holby City and Grantchester star Imogen Byron (represented by Byron's Management) and newcomer Ben Colbert, who trained at the Miskin Theatre in Dartford (pictured above) play two of her three children, with Omid Djalili as her private-hire driver husband Dave. The cast also includes Drama Centre graduate Harry Haynes (represented by Aha) and Tom Davis.

Employed by a failing outsource provider as a Care Assistant in the community, Kim receives little more than the minimum wage for a package which consists of unpaid overtime, management bullying and horrendous shifts. Her daily slog is matched only by that of her husband,...

HBO Picks Up 'Getting On' to Series, a Comedy From the Creators of 'Big Love'
Getting On (2009)

This U.S. take on the BAFTA-winning comedy comes from Mark V. Olsen and Will Scheffer, the co-creators of "Big Love," by way of their Anima Sola Productions company. Geoff Atkinson, the producer of the U.K. series, will serve as an executive producer alongside Lisa Bellomo and Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner of BBC Worldwide Productions. HBO Remakes Brit Sitcom "Getting On"
HBO has given a pilot order for an American adaptation of the award-winning UK hospital sitcom "Getting On" reports Deadline.

Set in the female geriatric extended care wing of a down-at-the-heels hospital, the darkly comic series follows put-upon nurses, anxious doctors and administrators who struggle with the realities of caring for the elderly in an overwhelmed healthcare system.
