Are you ready to go back to Pandora? Titanic maestro James Cameron is here to make sure you book your round trip ticket to his alien world now. The first trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash — due in theaters on Dec. 19 — just debuted online after being featured ahead of Fantastic Four: First Steps over the weekend. Unlike its predecessor, The Way of Water, we haven't had to wait too long for this latest Pandora-set adventure. 13 years separated the first two Avatar features, but there's only been a three-year gap between the second and third installments.
But a lot can change in three years, particularly when it comes to the technology that makes these visits to Pandora possible. The imagery on display in the Fire and Ash trailer indicates that Cameron and his creative team are continuing to push the boundaries of what’s possible with digital effects and motion capture.

A few years ago, we got two different movies that involved a young Edgar Allan Poe investigating mysteries during his time at the Military Academy at West Point, Raven’s Hollow and The Pale Blue Eye. Now, it sounds like a young Poe will be investigating more mysteries soon, as Variety reports that Freddie Highmore – who played Norman Bates in five seasons of the TV series Bates Motel and also starred in seven seasons of The Good Doctor – is in negotiations to star as a “reimagined” Edgar Allan Poe in the prestige detective period series Augustine & Edgar, which is set in Paris during the tumultuous mid-19th century.

Actor Freddie Highmore (“Bates Motel”) is in talks to star as a reimagined Edgar Allan Poe in “Edgar & Augustine,” a new French detective period series set in Paris in the mid-19th century, Variety reports today.
Highmore will star opposite Audrey Fleurot, one of France’s best-known actors.
The series’ fictional story will follow “Poe as he travels to Paris and encounters Augustine, a quick-witted female detective inspired by the character of Auguste Dupin, the protagonist of three tales created by Poe.”
Dupin made his first appearance in Poe’s 1841 short story “The Murders in the Rue Morgue,” which is often considered to be the first detective fiction story. The character preceded Sherlock Holmes and Hercules Poirot.
“Edgar & Augustine” was developed by Elizabeth Kesses at Ejk Productions for over six years and is being penned by Patrick Renault, who will act as showrunner on the series.

ABC's hit police procedural drama, The Rookie, is currently in production and filming its eighth season has begun. Showrunner Alexi Hawley is currently crafting new stories that will have us hooked on the officers in the Mid-Wilshire division. One of the recurring and captivating stories for several seasons now has been the romance between Lucy Chen, played by Melissa O'Neil, and her long-term love interest, Tim Bradford (Eric Winter), in the romantic union we've come to affectionately know as Chenford. Despite their clear appeal, Hawley has been able to craft other love dynamics throughout the show, including one between Officer Celina Juarez (Lisseth Chavez) and her musician boyfriend, Rodge (Zander Hawley).
Zander is the son of series showrunner Alexei, and his character became somewhat of a nuisance to Nathan Fillion's John Nolan, after the musician wrote and recorded a song about him called "Daddy Cop" with his band. Despite John's disapproval of the musician,...

Romance is never far away from the uniformed men and women of The Rookie's Mid-Wilshire division. While the on-and-off-again Chenford dynamic has served well as a long-running romantic subplot, audiences are always sniffing for more potential pairings. Lately, that has led to the perception that Season 7's rookie Miles Penn (Deric Augustine) and Officer Celina Juarez (Lisseth Chavez) have the potential to become the next slow-burn couple, perhaps a somewhat replacement for Chenford, who might finally be on the verge of being official again. Now, showrunner Alexi Hawley has addressed the chances of Milina ever becoming a thing in future seasons.
Miles was introduced in Season 7 as a transfer from Houston, Texas, and quickly became the season's standout newcomer. He soon bonded with Celina, and gradually, the two became good friends. However, fans think there's room to develop their dynamic into something more, despite Celina already being in a...

The Rookie aired its season 7 finale, "The Good, The Bad, and The Oscar", on May 13, leaving a handful of questions for the series to answer when it returns to ABC. On par with recent years, the Nathan-Fillion-led police procedural will be held until mid-season, reportedly premiering in early 2026 (TVLine). There will be plenty to explore with Chenford now that the exes appear to have turned a corner, but there's another romance fans are hoping to see when The Rookie returns.
When catching up with showrunner, creator, and executive producer, Alexi Hawley, ScreenRant asked if he would be open to exploring a relationship between Celina Juarez (Lisseth Chavez) and Miles Penn (Deric Augustine) in the future. While Celina is currently dating musician and "Daddy Cop" singer, Rodge, the showrunner would consider pairing up the officers if the story felt organic. Check out Hawley's full response below:

The Rookieshowrunner finally gives fans a definitive update on the status of the show's hottest couple.
Per Swooon, creator and showrunner Alexi Hawley noted that the final scene from the series' Season7 finale was "a corner [that] has been turned" for the fan-favorite couple of Lucy Chen and Tim Bradford, portrayed by Melissa O'Neil and Eric Winter, respectively. Hawley went on to confirm that the couple will be getting back together at some point in Season 8, although he couldn't provide any firm details as to when or how that would happen.
"Beyond that, I'm not 100% sure yet," Hawley added. He also discussed whether both characters are on the same page regarding potentially moving in with one another, noting that "That'll be the question rolling into Season 8." Regarding the wider scope of the relationship between Chen and Bradford over the course of The Rookie's past couple of seasons, Hawley said, "I...

Deric Augustine, who plays Miles Penn on The Rookie, opened up about delivering food to Nathan Fillion years before starring in the hit TV series together. It's tough out there for working actors, and Augustine has clearly done what he could to survive until he got his life-changing role in The Rookie season 7. He wasn't the only newbie in the season, as he joined season 7 alongside Patrick Keleher (Seth Ridley) as a fellow rookie. Getting this role was a dream for Augustine in more ways than one.
Augustine appeared on A Patrick Keleher Podcast and told his The Rookie costar about how he delivered food to Fillion before the pair got to work together on season 7. Before Augustine got his big break on the ABC procedural, he worked as a food delivery person while also trying to land acting jobs in Los Angeles. Augustine worked this job as a means...

In a moment that will go down in Church history, Catholic cardinals stepped away from the usual choices and chose someone no one really expected—an American pope. Robert Prevost has now taken on the name Pope Leo Xiv as the 267th head of the Catholic Church. At 69, he brings not just wisdom, but decades of real-world missionary work and hands-on leadership. As the world spins through conflict and crisis, this new pontiff steps into the role with a fresh energy.
When he first stepped out onto that balcony at St. Peter’s Basilica, he kept it simple, calling for peace, both in spirit and in action. But beneath the red papal cape, which many saw as a quiet nod to older customs that Pope Francis chose to skip, there’s more to Pope Leo Xiv than meets the eye. And while the world watches his every move, there are...

The character was most recently spotlighted in the Season 7 episode “Three Billboards,” which aired on April 8 and was written by Aleks Biskis and Chelsea Urech. The new trainee in The Rookie Season 10 might have recently arrived, but he's putting down roots in Los Angeles. Part of this involves forming new relationships, and since Miles' (Deric Augustine) girlfriend broke up with him, he has been flying solo. I think they're calling the ship "Milina" or something like that," Augustine admitted to Screen Rant. The actor has seen some buzz surrounding the potential ship but doesn't think Celina and Miles are a good fit romantically. For one, Celina is already in a relationship. Silly French comedy pits one convent against another in a contest that could fund a trip to Rome but won’t raise many laughs
The nuns in this silly good-natured French comedy say far worse things than the film’s title. And that’s the trouble with the movie – it derives most of its laughs from a belief in the inherent amusingness of nuns – the idea that putting a woman in a habit and a veil is instantly funny. It’s the story of convent of nuns entering a road cycling race to win the €25,000 prize – the only glitch is that none of them have been on a bike in years. Nuns on bikes. Hilarious! Nuns falling off bikes. Side-splitting!
Mother superior Véronique (Valérie Bonneton) is the driving force behind the convent’s bid for cycling glory. Her worthy motive is to raise funds to refurbish an old people’s home.

For eight seasons, The CW's The Vampire Diaries weaved a romance that always kept fans guessing. Elena Gilbert's (Nina Dobrev) dramatic choice between two vampire brothers, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder), was the main conflict of the series, but it wasn't what made the series resonate with viewers. While romance was the main draw, it was contrasted exceptionally with some truly horrific and dark material.
The Vampire Diaries starts with a young girl in the throes of grief after the premature death of her parents. In the first episode alone, the series features murder, attempted sexual assault, and depression. The pilot episode of The Vampire Diaries would ultimately only be the tip of the iceberg for some of the darkest material the show would portray during its tenure.
Damon Killing Jeremy Is an Unforgivable Act
Damon's redemption arc takes place over the entirety of The Vampire Diaries and includes some huge setbacks.

After a shaky start and a sprinkling of red herrings, Frasier Season 2 Episode 7 tied up its deceptively loose ends to become a memorable party episode.
Olivia’s sister Monica may have visited for the annual Harvard-Yale game, but her actual favorite sport was one-upping her younger sibling.
I hoped the episode’s focus on Olivia would give her some much-needed character development. While that didn’t exactly happen, her nimble participation in this festive farce was reward enough for now.
(Chris Haston/Paramount+)
Alan and Freddy did the heavy lifting of setting the episode’s events into motion, which freed Frasier to do what he does best in these situations: facilitate and react.
Meanwhile, Yvette Nicole Brown needed a toothpick for all the scenery she chewed, but it sure was fun to watch her turn the character of Monica up to eleven.

Unlike many choices-matter RPGs, The Casting of Frank Stone has no "good ending" where everyone survives and goes on to live a relatively normal life.

Frank Stone itself has 15 endings, but the differences between some of the endings are marginal. Many of them depend on who of the core fourMadi, Chris, Linda, and Samsurvive the night and make it to the campfire at the end of the game.

A&e's Hoarders focused on the idea of extreme hoarding, and when looking at some of where the people featured in Hoarders are now, the spotlight didn't always help. Those featured in Hoarders lived in houses loaded floor-to-ceiling with clutter, personal effects, and, most often, actual garbage. The show offered a look into the lives of those living with the results of hoarding, and it shined a light on the tragedies inherent in many of these situations. "Experts" would be dispatched to clean their homes before they faced legal action.
However, the A&e show isn't without its controversies and criticisms. The show is, in a word, shocking. Some of the subjects of Hoarders could've received jail time for things like animal abuse as many keep animals in some of the most unlivable conditions ever seen. As well, the series can be seen as exploitative. Five years after Hoarders first aired,...

Sigourney Weaver reveals whether there are plans for her to return to the Ghostbusters franchise. Weaver played cellist Dana Barrett in the beloved 1984 film and reprised the role for Ghostbusters II. Decades later, Weaver played Dana again in Ghostbusters: Afterlife's post-credits scene, but was not part of the Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire cast, even though the 2024 sequel featured original franchise stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson.
While speaking with Deadline about receiving the Venice Film Festivals Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement Award and reflecting on her career, Weaver was asked whether she will return to the Ghostbusters franchise in the near future. A key member of The Rookie cast, Tru Valentino, who joined the hit show in Season 4 as a recurring character, will not be returning for the latest season. The ABC procedural drama has earned enormous praise from fans for its compelling storytelling and relevant character arcs. Valentino played the role of Officer Aaron Thorson, a famous TikTok personality who joined the LAPD after being acquitted of a high-profile murder charge.
Valentino initially joined The Rookie as a recurring character in Season 4, where his character was shown as wealthy, privileged, and out of touch. While his backstory added a unique dimension to the show, fans really connected with his journey from being a social media star to a rookie cop learning to prove himself. In Season 5, Valentino was promoted to series regular, developing a significant relationship with other characters, particularly Detective Nyla Harper, who was his mentor.

Tru Valentino won't return for The Rookie season 7. Added cast members Deric Augustine and Patrick Keleher will join the upcoming season. The Rookie season 7 does not currently have a release date.
The Rookie season 7 is losing a main cast member, as the long-running police procedural welcomes new actors. With a story that begins by following John Nolan (Firefly and Castle's Nathan Fillion) as he becomes the oldest rookie at the Los Angeles Police Department, The Rookie's supporting cast has been largely stable, including Mekia Cox, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Melissa ONeil, Eric Winter, Jenna Dewan, and Shawn Ashmore. But since its October 2018 debut, the show has experienced some changes.

The Rookie season 7 sneak peek shows a first look at two new rookie police officers, Miles and Seth. Tim Bradford's season 1 demeanor with rookies is making a comeback in the upcoming season. Season 7 will consist of 18 episodic episodes, moving away from the previous serialized format.
Even though the premiere of The Rookie season 7 is still months away, ABC released footage of the upcoming episodes as the cast has begun filming, and I believe that the first look, albeit brief, is a good sign of what's to come. The ABC series, created by Alexi Hawley, is going into its seventh season after six successful outings. While The Rookie's six seasons have had great ratings and sustained a loyal audience, no one can deny that the show has had its fair share of ups and downs, with the latest batch of episodes being one of its disappointments.

The Rookie season 7 introduces new characters like Miles and Seth to refresh the series and focus on episodic storytelling. Miles is a seasoned Texas transfer while Seth struggles under pressure, bringing new dynamics to The Rookie team. The addition of new characters in season 7 promises a return to more episodic storytelling and a shift away from serialized plots.
The Rookie season 7 is primed to introduce several new characters, which is a good sign for the upcoming outing's big story promise. ABC's police procedural follows the career of 40-something cop John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) the oldest rookie at the LA Police Department (LAPD). Since 2018, the series has churned out six uneven seasons, but The Rookie season 7 promises to be a return to form, especially where the show's episodic storytelling is concerned. Despite attempts at a twist, The Rookie's season 6 ending was somewhat predictable, which means the upcoming installment must make some big changes.

Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds’ friendship is one of the most iconic parts of the Deadpool & Wolverine press tour. The pair have perfectly captured their characters’ dynamic, despite having been close friends for years and fans enjoying every second of it. One would assume that they both know each other very well after such a long friendship. However, a recent interview would suggest otherwise.

When the drama returns, the LAPD will be welcoming two new rookies, played by Deric Augustine and Patrick Keleher, who will be recurring guest stars. Augustine will play Miles, who, as a Texas transfer, is considered a “rookie” despite being a two-year veteran of the force. Keleher’s Seth seems like the ideal police officer, but the job requires quick, decisive action—something that doesn’t come naturally to him. Even by the scuzzy standards of Abel Ferrara’s filmography, Bad Lieutenant is particularly filthy. The film follows the exploits of Harvey Keitel’s unnamed New York City police detective as he nominally investigates the rape of a nun (Frankie Thorn) but largely engages in a series of self-destructive acts involving drugs, alcohol, and abuses of powers. Despite being a Catholic himself, the lieutenant can scarcely show an ounce of sympathy for the nun to his colleagues. Upon hearing of a reward offered for the rapists’ arrest, he explodes, “Girls get raped every day. Now they’re gonna put up 50 Gs just ‘cause these girls wear fucking penguin suits?”
Just beneath this nihilistic surface, however, is a man barely able to tamp down the spiritual crisis that arises not merely from the crime but the victim’s response to it. Not long after the nun returns to her church, she...

The inclusion of "cardigan" in Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour on Disney+ restores the fictional teenage love triangle from folklore. Connected through their shared lyrical narrative, the songs "cardigan," "august," and "betty" from folklore each tell a part of the same story from a different character's perspective. The absence of "cardigan" in previous releases left a void in The Eras Tour movie, making its inclusion in the Disney+ version a relief.

The Way Home has been pretty good at upending traditional Hallmark expectations, and The Way Home Season 2 Episode 5 was a doozy in that regard.
Elliot's past is slowly being revealed to be much worse than anticipated, and everything we thought we'd started sussing out from 1814 has also been turned on its head.
But if you've been paying attention, at least some of this doesn't come as a surprise.
When we're watching a show about a town's history and the interconnectedness of its residents (and main characters), Founder's Day would have special significance.

Avatar 2 received positive reviews from critics and made over $2 billion at the worldwide box office, surpassing expectations. Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana return as Jake and Neytiri, while new stars like Kate Winslet and Sigourney Weaver join the cast. The sequel delivers a star-studded feast for the senses and continues the story of Jake and Neytiri as they battle human invaders.
The cast of Avatar 2 is made up of returning stars and a roster of brand-new names to make the sequel and even bigger cinematic event. Premiering in December 2022, the long-awaited sequel follows Jake (Sam Worthington) and Ney'tiri (Zoe Saldana) as they must leave their peaceful life behind and fight a deadly war with human invaders.
