Death Letter Blues Review: Where Old Sins Cast Long Shadows
Image
The air in Death Letter Blues is thick enough to be tasted, a humid mixture of Mississippi soil, unspoken history, and impending rain. In this small town, where time moves like molasses, the past is never buried deep enough.

The oppressive quiet is broken by the appearance of a boy, a feral creature who wanders from the woods without a name or a history. He is a disruption, a question made flesh in a place that prefers comfortable silence. At the center of this disturbance is Father Moss, the local clergyman. He is a man already wrestling with his own faith, his body and spirit marked by decay.

He becomes the town’s unwilling conscience, a figure tasked with finding meaning in an event that seems to defy it. The film immediately poses its fundamental questions: what is the nature of sin in a fallen world, and can justice ever truly be found?...

James Gunn
Weapons’ young star Cary Christopher joins HBO’s Lanterns
James Gunn
James Gunn has not revealed much about Lanterns other than that it would be a mystery along the lines of True Detective. Following a couple of Lantern Corps members, the heroes would investigate an Earth-based mystery. While having a pair of space cops with rings that allow them to make amazing weapons seems like overkill for a police procedural, it should make for some fun twists to come from the new series. It would also allow the series to differentiate itself from the slew of other comic book properties coming from DC, which is aiming to diversify its catalog of properties. DC Studios co-leader Peter Safran has also revealed that the investigation in Lanterns will tie directly into the main storyline of the new Dcu.

Deadline is reporting that child actor Cary Christopher of Days of Our Lives and Weapons has now joined the DC limited series as young Noah.

'Lanterns' Actor Ulrich Thomsen Teases Dcu Future as Sinesto
Image
The Dcu is in full-swing thanks to Superman hitting theaters this summer, and DC Studios looks to ride that momentum with a long-awaited series. Expected to debut in early 2026, HBO's Lanterns has reportedly wrapped production. The show follows John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) and Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) as a pair of space cops investigating a mystery, but it will also introduce perhaps the most iconic Green Lantern villain of all time.

Lanterns star Ulrich Thomsen took to social media to share an image of himself with his mustache half-shaved, seemingly teasing his transformation as Sinestro. The Green Lantern villain will make his Dcu debut in the HBO series in 2026, but the actor teases a bright future is ahead for the character. His caption reads,"Bye for now [Sinestro] – I'll keep one side for later. Hope too see you again." It seems he has wrapped filming his scenes as Sinestro, which coincides...

‘Stranger Things’ Surges Past 400 Million Viewing Hours in 2025 Ahead of Season 5
Image
Stranger Things is still pulling in huge numbers on Netflix, and fans are clearly getting ready for the show’s big ending. According to Netflix’s latest Engagement Report, the series picked up a massive 404.10 million viewing hours in just the first half of 2025. This covers all four seasons of the hit sci-fi horror drama.

The boost in viewership started building throughout mid-2024, likely because fans were preparing for the long-awaited release of season 5. The show has consistently been one of Netflix’s most popular, but the new data shows just how strong its following remains years after its debut.

Looking at the numbers in Netflix’s report, season 4 led the way with 135.5 million hours watched globally between January and June 2025. Season 1 came in next with 97.7 million hours, followed by season 2 at 88.6 million and season 3 at 82.3 million. The report shows that people are either...

New 'Stranger Things' Season 5 Report Reveals Potential Release Schedule
Image
It seems like Stranger Things is quickly becoming the GTA 6 of the streaming world, as a leaked report has supposedly revealed that Netflix is now considering releasing the fifth and final season in three parts, meaning we might not see the grand finale until 2026. Debuting all the way back in 2016, fans have been waiting forever for the final chapter in the epic saga to make its way to the streaming service, and while Netflix has yet to confirm the release schedule for Stranger Things Season 5, this new rumor is certainly disheartening.

First revealed by industry insider @MyTimeToShineH on X, it appears as if Netflix is looking to possibly release Stranger Things Season 5 in three parts instead of two to accommodate the final season's increased runtime. We already know that each episode is said to feel like its own feature film that will send the series out with a bang, so...

Lanterns Actor Jason Ritter Reveals How Much Of The Dcu TV Series Has Been Completed
Image
Jason Ritter has confirmed that he'll be playing a comedic role in Lanterns.

The actor recently spoke to Forbes about a number of topics but briefly touched on his current work, which is portraying Billy Macon in HBO and Max's Lanterns.

Said Ritter, "We’ve shot four episodes so far and we’re about to start shooting episodes three and four. We’re doing it all a little out of order. The story is kind of jumping all around, but it’s been so fun and it’s a really well-written, really fun show. I’m just trying to fit into that world and maybe put a little silliness in there."

There's rumors that the Macon family are really the Hand family and that Lanterns will dive into the origins of William Hand aka Black Hand before he becomes the undead embodiment of death and herald of Nekron. Fans are...

Stranger Things's Sherman Augustus is leaving the Midwest and heading to the DC Universe. The veteran actor and former NFL player recently joined the cast of Dcu's Lanterns, and is set to portray John Senior, the father of Aaron Pierre's character, John Stewart. Stranger Things star set to join DC Universe in upcoming new HBO show
Image
Before Sherman Augustus became known as Lt. Col. Jack Sullivan in the Netflix smash series Stranger Things or Nathaniel Moon in the woefully underrated dystopian AMC series Into the Badlands, he had aspirations to be in the NFL. In 1984, he was on pace as he played with the Minnesota Vikings and San Diego Chargers until a horrendous knee injury sidelined him for good.

To be an actor, one should be able to channel feelings deep within one's psyche. There's something almost superhuman about that, which is fitting because now he will be the father of one: Green Lantern John Stewart, in DC Studios' and HBO's much-anticipated series Lanterns.

Based on casting news, it's clear that Lanterns will delve into origins in several phases. Sherman Augustus will play John Stewart, Sr., but so will J. Alphonse Nicholson, at a much younger age. The Deadline article shared Augustus will play Stewart's...

Sadie Sink shares that she may have embarrassing photos after getting so emotional wrapping up Stranger Things
Image
Netflix’s juggernaut sci-fi nostalgia series Stranger Things is wrapping up after an amazing run. The child stars have now become young adult actors as they’ve started to break out into newer roles, including Millie Bobby Brown fighting robots alongside Chris Pratt in the upcoming The Electric State. Finn Wolfhard recently commented that wrapping up the series was “incredibly emotional, obviously. It’s the last 10 years of my life. […] My whole childhood was there. It was sort of the Toy Story 3 moment of leaving your toys behind. It was really special. We had a long last year. We shot sort of ‘Lord of the Rings’ style with a year-long shoot. It was a great way to go out and very intense. I feel like it couldn’t have ended better.“

According to The Hollywood Reporter, his castmate Sadie Sink is all about crying for the end of this era.

‘Virus’ – Revisiting the Comic, the Novel, and the Movie Jamie Lee Curtis Calls “Unbelievably Bad”
Image
The movie Virus did not officially scuttle across screens until 1999, but its biomechanical horrors first sprang to life a bit earlier. The road to screen adaptation was not straightforward for Navy Seal turned writer Chuck Pfarrer; he first pitched his high concept to Universal Pictures, only to then have it land at Dark Horse Comics. Upon the series’ success, Pfarrer tried his luck again with Universal. This time, though, producer Gale Anne Hurd was there to help get Virus optioned as well as find a potential director.

It was in 1995 that Universal first approached John Bruno about helming Virus. Initially, the visual effects artist was hesitant about directing a feature, and Pfarrer’s screenplay was a major factor in that uncertainty; he found it to be too dense and complicated for his liking. Yet after a talk with colleague and friend James Cameron, Bruno eventually accepted the offer, providing that...

Stranger Things is looking to recast Hopper’s late daughter Sara
Image
The character of Jim Hopper on the hit Netflix series Stranger Things has a tragic history, having lost a young daughter named Sara to cancer – an illness he blames on the fact that he served in the Chemical Corps during the Vietnam War and worked with Agent Orange. Sara was glimpsed in flashbacks in the season 1 finale, where she was played by child actress Elle Graham. The fifth and final season of Stranger Things is currently in production, and Sara will be making another appearance in this last batch of episodes – but that Stranger Things season 1 finale was eight years ago, so Graham, who is now 15 years old, has aged out of the role. That’s why Carmen Cuba Casting has sent out a casting call letting us know that Stranger Things is looking for a new, US-based actress who resembles Graham and can play Sara in Stranger Things season...
