John Cena’s Best Finisher Looks Like a Joke After Losing to Cody Rhodes
Image
The match between John Cena and Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam 2025 was a hot topic, featuring a spectacle of a street fight, marked by Brock Lesnar’s return. However, fans were visibly upset with how poorly the entire match was booked, making the challenger destined to win the Undisputed WWE Championship. Worse than that, Rhodes made the Goat’s finisher look like a joke.

During the match, Cena executed a total of 8 Attitude Adjustments to Cody Rhodes, including one on the announcer’s table, on the ramp, and an Avalanche AA, but to everyone’s surprise, he kicked out. The whole match looked like a joke because this is the same move that has defeated the likes of Aj Styles, Randy Orton, Dwayne Johnson, Big Show, and many more.

What made it frustrating was that the move not only lost its essence, but also how a double Cross Rhodes was enough to put away the champ.

Summerslam 2025: Cody Rhodes Becomes Champion Again After Using Banned Move On John Cena
Image
It’s finally here. Cena’s historic title reign has ended, and Cody Rhodes is the new undisputed WWE Champion. But no one thought that the American Nightmare would use a banned move and try to outperform Cena. However, unexpectedly, he did and delivered a pile driver to Cena during his high-stakes Street Fight at MetLife Stadium.

The move, which, although effective, is believed to be the scariest inside the ring for the kind of injuries it has left to those who were unlucky enough to face it over the years.

The American Nightmare hit Cena with a Piledriver fairly early on in the match to assert initial dominance. The move established the fact that he isn’t going to hesitate in getting what he wants- the undisputed WWE title.

The wrestling and pop culture legend died on Thursday at the age of 71.

Bigger than Stone Cold Steve Austin, bigger than The Rock, bigger than John Cena, the world of professional wrestling has arguably never created a bigger star than Hulk Hogan. With his brightly colored red and yellow ring attire, his trademark handlebar mustache, his easily ripped-off shirt, and larger-than-life personality, Hogan became the face of the WWF (now the WWE) as it rose to national prominence in the 1980s. His charisma and family-friendly image telling kids to “Say your prayers, take your vitamins, and believe in yourself” made him a pop culture phenomenon.

Grown Ups 2 (2013) Movie Ending Explained: Is Roxanne cheating on Lenny?
Image
In Grown Ups 2 (2013), Adam Sandler reunites with his old buddies—Kevin James, Chris Rock, and David Spade—for another chaotic summer of slapstick humor and small-town shenanigans. Directed by Dennis Dugan, this sequel picks up three years after the events of Grown Ups (2010), where Lenny Feder (Sandler) and his childhood friends reconnect during a funeral weekend and rediscover their youth. The second installment ditches the vacation-home setting and brings the gang to Lenny’s hometown of Stanton, where they navigate fatherhood, awkward confrontations, and outlandish encounters—all leading up to an over-the-top 80s-themed party.

While Grown Ups 2 was panned by critics for its lowbrow humor and thin plot, it stands as a classic example of the 2010s Adam Sandler comedy era. A time when Sandler, through his Happy Madison productions, churned out a string of goofy, feel-good ensemble comedies that didn’t always age well but continue to find life in rewatch culture.

The Marine, the 2006 WWE Studios action flick that launched John Cena’s acting career (and currently holds a less-than-stellar 17% on Rotten Tomatoes), is suddenly climbing the ranks on streaming — hitting #8 on Prime Video in the U.S. this week. Not bad for a movie Cena once admitted he was “not ready for.”

In a candid sit-down with GQ, Cena reflected on his big-screen debut, which began with a last-minute call and a very unexpected mission.

“The Marine was a wonderful experience and it’s one I’ll never forget. You can’t have a journey without the first step, and the first step is always the boldest. They say timing is everything, and I was not ready for the opportunity I was given.”

Back in the mid-2000s, WWE launched its in-house production company, WWE Studios, with an ambitious vision: to turn wrestling’s biggest stars into movie icons. The...

WWE’s Mount Rushmore: The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and Many Legends Missing From Idris Elba’s List

The recent interaction Idris Elba had with John Cena has dropped a bombshell in the professional wrestling community. The Suicide Squad fame has announced a Mount Rushmore list of WWE legends of his own, and it’s baffling, not only because it’s far from what the popular opinion is, but also because the list lacks seriousness.

The list became a major talking point because of those legends and veteran performers he did not take into account, more than those he included in the list. Amongst others, he did not even consider, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels stood out as the most astonishing ones.

Ksi is not amongst those who turn the other way at the face of a contest. Be it the time when he fought other influencers inside the boxing ring, or when he tried his hand at exploring business opportunities. So, when WWE decided to turn down his request to use Christian’s theme song at Fanatics Fest, he attempted to revive it himself by doing something unthinkable these days.

The co-owner of Prime Hydration was one of the key figures at the Fanatics Fest. His love and admiration for WWE superstars became evident even before he arrived on the centre stage, because WWE entrance music was all that was in his mind while he was gearing up for the appearance. The best part? When he revived the largely forgotten, remarkable music designed for Christian’s arrival inside the squared circle.

But interestingly, Angle once admitted there was one area where he fell short, something guys like The Rock and John Cena totally nailed: the business side of things, especially selling merch.

He talked about how his character just wasn’t built in a way that made merchandise fly off the shelves. He played the ultra-serious “wrestler’s wrestler,” which didn’t exactly scream t-shirts and foam fingers. Because of that, he struggled to move merchandise the way other stars did.

WWE Just Missed the Perfect Opportunity to Build Golderg’s Retirement Match Ahead of Night of Champions

For a while now, Goldberg’s farewell has been a boiling point in WWE. Time and time again, The Myth has teased his return to WWE for one final time before hanging up his boots once and for all. However, it is yet to be seen when he finally returns. The man who revolutionised WCW with a streak that needed an electric shock to be eventually broken by Diesel, ran riot in his heyday at WCW and then took it up a notch in WWE as well.

His iconic match-up with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 20, with Stone Cold Steve Austin as the referee was quite the talk of the town. However, he took a long hiatus from the company and eventually returned to WWE in 2016, winning the WWE Universal Championship first in 2017 and then in 2020. It was in 2018 that he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame for his endless contributions to the company.

The Six Million Dollar Man (1973-1978): Gone But Not Forgotten

The 70s were a time when television would seem to try anything at least once. Science Fiction was one of the main genres where this was very true. Thanks to the success of series like Star Trek, and Lost in Space there was a deluge of, off beat and actually good genre TV (as we explored on last week’s Land of the Lost episode). Typically it was with some sort of toy tie-in or angle to get children to watch and/or buy something. And just wait until Star Wars happened.

But, the early 70s would find a new kind of hero to grab the hearts and minds of kids across the country and he’d bring with him some of the coolest toys around. Because, he was literally made up of metal and plastic himself.

The Six Million Dollar Man would jump into television history with a premise that was brilliant,...

Shawn Michaels Didn’t Protect Triple H Despite Being Best Friends After Infamous WWE Event
Image
Triple H is the Chief Content Officer of the WWE and has one of the highest-ranking positions in the organization. He is only superseded by CEO Nick Khan and Tko Chairman Ari Emmanuel. Hhh is also a Hall of Famer and a multi-time world champion. Many say these reigns and positions were handed to him but nobody remembers the work he put in to get to that position in life.

The 1996 Msg Curtain Call almost put a full stop to Triple H’s career. He was the one who faced the consequences for that event. Shawn Michaels, his friend, faced none because he was the WWE champion. Kevin Nash (the other collaborator) spoke out recently about this incident and how Hbk failed to protect their friend.

Top 5 One Match Wonders of WWE
Image
Making a name for yourself in WWE isn’t easy. Many wrestlers start strong but later struggle to stay relevant and fade from the spotlight. Some take advantage of their opportunities, building successful careers and becoming superstars. In contrast, others can’t keep up the momentum and end up being remembered for just one big match.

Over the years, numerous highly talented WWE stars have struggled to leave a lasting impact, despite their generational skills. In many cases, devastating injuries have played a major role in their downfall. Another significant factor that has derailed the careers of countless wrestlers in the promotion is the use of steroids, which has led to irreparable consequences for many.

Stone Cold Regretted Turning Heel and His Remark Isn’t Convincing Me Entirely for John Cena’s Farewell Tour
Image
During a recently aired episode of The Ariel Helwani Show, WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin mentioned a certain regret from 2001 while also mentioning that he should never have turned heel to begin with. Austin mentioned that if we are going to remember anything from John Cena’s own heel run in 2025 while on his retirement tour, it would be simply the fact that he loves the business, which will mean he has no regrets.

This led to further discussion and analysis of the reasons for his heel turn not working, and also whether Cena’s somewhat controversial heel tactics, cheating to win at WrestleMania 41 and Backlash 2025, would ultimately overshadow his career or brand his heel turn and possibly turn me off even more down the line.

The Most Disturbing Wrestling Moment That Made Kurt Angle Hesitate to Join the Business Was Repeated by the Undertaker
Image
Kurt Angle has been one of the most iconic legends in the WWE. Angle became a phenomenon in the late 1990s after winning a gold medal in 1996 in freestyle wrestling. At this time, he had to decide on his upcoming journey, and there were two options available to him: the WWF and Ecw.

Back in the old days, both of these franchises were competing and investing in superstars for a bright future. Ecw almost got its hands on Kurt Angle. However, one segment was so horrific for Angle that it drove him away from the franchise. This was not anything extraordinary; it was just wrestling, and it happened again in the WWF after Kurt Angle joined it.

John Cena announced his retirement on July 6, 2024, and has been on his retirement tour since then. Things got spicy when he emerged victorious at the night of the Elimination Chamber 2025 and turned heel on Cody Rhodes and the whole WWE fan base.

He escalated this further and eventually became a 17-time world champion on the night of SmackDown, defeating Cody Rhodes with the help of Travis Scott. It was meant to be celebrated, and John Cena came out to raise his belt at Raw after the match; however, his celebrations were short-lived as Randy Orton attacked him with a vicious Rko.

“Don’t bore them to death”: Final Boss Is Violent but He Could Never Be as Sassy as Hollywood Rock From 2 Decades Ago

Dwayne Johnson has been immensely successful in the WWE, playing his characters to almost perfection. At Elimination Chambers 2025, The Rock, continuing his final boss persona, triggered a brutal betrayal. John Cena sold out to him and brutally attacked Cody Rhodes. He kept on pestering him until he eventually snatched his belt away and became the 17-time world champion.

The Final Boss persona from Johnson is more of a silent killer who works quietly, implying brains. However, the Hollywood Rock persona from 2003 was a whole different dimension. He picked up on legends and ripped them apart even before his match, and this was possible because of his extraordinary promo-delivering capabilities.

After a botched heel turn a year earlier, it looked like Stone Cold was missing something.

He had done everything, and now, it looked like there was nothing left to do. In June 2002, Stone Cold walked out of the company controversially. He did it just before an episode of Raw, too. Why did he do it? What did WWE do that made Stone Cold angry enough to walk out of the company?
