Rumor: Peacemaker Season 2 Will Feature A Big Return As [Spoiler] Makes Their Dcu Debut
Image
Peacemaker season 2 is fast approaching, making it the third Dcu project to head our way since Creature Commandos premiered at the end of last year.

DC Studios co-ceo and filmmaker James Gunn had described the series as a direct follow-up to Superman, and promised fans that it's going to explain what is and isn't canon from the first season of Peacemaker.

He's previously hinted that pretty much everything aside from the Justice League's cameos/references to characters like Aquaman and The Flash played out in the Dcu exactly as it did in the Dceu.

Joel Kinnaman reprising his Suicide Squad and The Suicide Squad role as Rick Flag Jr. in Peacemaker season 2 feels like one of the show's worst-kept secrets after some pretty telling hints from the actor. Now, we have apparent confirmation from @MyTimeToShineH.

According to the insider, Kinnaman will return as Rick in a flashback scene (marking...

Brad Pitt, ‘Star Trek’ and a Possible Michael Bay Return: To-Do List for New Paramount’s Film Slate
Image
At first glance, the new Paramount has a 2026 slate that looks a little bare – only five films slated for release. But studio insiders told TheWrap on Thursday that three other films that are deep in post-production are on course for release in 2026.

The first is “Heart of the Beast,” a survival thriller from “Suicide Squad” director David Ayer starring Brad Pitt as an Army special forces vet who must survive in the Alaskan wilderness with his retired combat dog after a plane crash. Also starring J.K. Simmons and with Damien Chazelle as executive producer, it will mark Pitt’s first film since he set a new career high at the box office with Apple’s “F1.”

The other two films are a pair of horror projects from Paramount’s production deal with 18hz, the company founded by former DC Films chief Walter Hamada after his exit from the superhero label: “Primate,...

The best movies you can watch on Prime Video this week
Image
From globe-trotting action to an epic musical, here’s what to stream.

Prime Video has been on a serious roll lately, especially when it comes to action comedies, and I am so here for it. It’s one of my favorite genres, and Prime Video has been dropping a steady stream of big, funny, explosion-filled movies (including the latest one starring Eddie Murphy!). It honestly feels like they’re using these as warm-ups before the next “James Bond” movie — which Amazon now fully controls — and if that’s the case, keep practicing so as not to mess with one of the best franchises of all time. Between these newer titles, some underrated sequels, and a few all-time crowd-pleasers, I went back through everything and pulled the seven best movies streaming on Prime Video right now. Whether you’re into treasure hunts, buddy comedies, or full-blown musical magic, here’s where I’d start.

Paramount Co-CEO Brian Robbins’ Exit Memo Praises Staff During “Major Industry Evolution”, Talks Why Theatrical Matters & “Bittersweet” Transition
Image
Brian Robbins has made official his departure from the Melrose Lot as co-ceo of Paramount Global and President and CEO of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon.

Robbins joined Paramount in 2017. He became President and CEO of Nickelodeon in October 2018, then was raised to President and CEO of Paramount Pictures in September of 2021 and co-ceo of Paramount Global in April 2024. In the latter role, he was part of a team that launched and scaled Paramount+

During his tenure at Paramount Pictures, Robbins saw 17 No. 1 releases at the box office, and this was coming off Covid when moviegoing was trying to regain its footing. In 2022 alone, he oversaw six No. 1 pics, which was one of the most successful years in the studio’s history including Top Gun: Maverick which at close to $1.5 billion became the studio’s most successful movie ever worldwide, as well as star Tom Cruise’s. It was rumored at...

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Apparent Agatha Christie Adaptation Might’ve Been Buried Under Fubar’s Collapse
Image
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Netflix project, Fubar, has been cancelled after just two seasons (via Deadline), and the noise surrounding the show’s failure is also affecting other movies from the actor’s filmography, like Sabotage. The violent thriller is loosely inspired by Agatha Christie’s novel titled And Then There Were None.

Fubar began with a bang in 2023 and had a veteran star like Schwarzenegger in the lead, so expectations were high. But by its second run, the show dramatically lost its steam, but his movie, Sabotage, has made a surprising comeback on Prime Video.

Let’s look at how Fubar’s failure might have overshadowed Schwarzenegger’s other notable entry, and how Sabotage has quietly made a return.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Fubar Failure Overshadowed His Agatha Christie Adaptation Arnold Schwarzenegger in Fubar | Credits: Netflix

After debuting in May 2023, Fubar had some strong numbers and a lot going on for it.

Jason Statham Action Thriller 'Mutiny' Suffers Release Date Delay
Image
Action and Jason Statham fans just got some bad news. The genre icon’s upcoming thriller has now been delayed, meaning we will all have to wait a little longer to see The Stath once again ply his action hero trade and put his particular set of skills to good use.

Mutinysees Statham in the role as both star and producer as he joins forces with the director behind 2023’s acclaimed Gerard Butler-led action outing Plane, Jean-François Richet. Led by Jason Statham, the rest of the Mutiny cast includes Peaky Blinders and Malignant star Annabelle Wallis and Wrath of Man and The Gentlemen’s Jason Wong, as well as Roland Møller, Arnas Fedaravičius, and Adrian Lester.

While Mutiny was originally scheduled to land in theaters next year on January 9, 2026, Lionsgate has now revealed (via Variety), that the action outing will now hit the big screen in summer 2026 instead, with...

Jason Statham’s Next Action Movie ‘Mutiny’ Faces Major Setback
Image
Jason Statham’s action-packed 2026 slate just hit a major snag. Lionsgate has officially pushed back Mutiny, the star’s next big-screen vehicle, from its original January 9, 2026 release date to an unspecified slot in summer 2026. The move comes as a direct consequence of the reshuffling prompted by Greenland 2: Migration—starring Gerard Butler—which will now take over that January date.

The delay is a notable bump in the road for Statham, especially after his recent collaboration with David Ayer, A Working Man, brought in just under $100 million worldwide. While the film was far from a flop and enjoyed an impressive 87% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, its box office fell short of expectations following the duo’s previous hit, The Beekeeper, which earned $162 million globally.

While release date shifts are common in Hollywood, the timing of Mutiny’s move underscores a more strategic approach. With Greenland 2 primed for January,...

Jason Statham's Wildly Underrated Sleeper Action Flick Quietly Dominates the Streaming Charts 1 Year Later
Image
Streaming audiences cannot get enough of Jason Statham. At any given time, the actor has at least one or two movies dominating the streaming charts.

According to FlixPatrol, as of Aug. 4, The Beekeeper is ranked No. 10 on MGM+'s Top 10 in the United States, down two spots from the day before. The 2024 action movie has been bouncing between the last few spots on the streamer's Top 10 list for the past week, as Statham fans discover (or rediscover) the well-received David Ayer-directed hit. This isn't the first time that The Beekeeper has performed well on an Amazon-owned streaming service, as the action movie was also frequently in the Top 10 on Prime Video last month.

Unlike Amazon MGM Studios' recent action movie Heads of State, which went straight to Prime Video, The Beekeeper was given a theatrical release, which paid off big time for the studio, as it became a sleeper hit,...

Jason Statham’s 92% Rt John Wick Replacement Picks Up Momentum on Global Streaming Charts
Image
Jason Statham’s next action movie gets closer by the day, but ahead of its arrival in theaters, one of his more recent classics is gaining steam on streaming charts. Statham stars alongside Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games) and Jeremy Irons (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) inThe Beekeeper, the 2024 John Wick-esque action thriller following a man pulled out of retirement to search for vengeance after someone close to him dies. The Beekeeper is currently streaming on Prime Video in the United States and globally, where it remains one of the most popular movies in countries such as the Philippines, Thailand, and Lebanon. The film grossed $162 million against a $40 million budget, following its strong reception with scores of 71% from critics and 92% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Beekeeper immediately drew comparisons to Keanu Reeves’ first outing as John Wick upon release. Although a sequel to the film is in the works,...

‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ Chews Up 26% Rotten Tomatoes DC Blockbuster at the Global Box Office
Image
Over a month into its theatrical run and with a digital debut mere days away, Universal’s Jurassic World Rebirth passed what could be its final global box office milestone this weekend. If this turns out to be true, and the film stalls subsequently after losing a bunch of theaters, it would make Rebirth the latest in a growing list of Universal titles that have seemingly been undercut by premature digital debuts. Last year, the studio received flak for releasing the well-liked action comedy The Fall Guy on PVOD only 17 days after its theatrical release. But, the same studio didn’t let Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer near a small screen for months.

Rebirth director Gareth Edwards certainly doesn’t have the same clout. In fact, he was hired to helm the project after a significant amount of pre-production had already been conducted by the studio and the producers. It was...

Jason Statham's $529M Game-Changing Jaws Replacement Movie Is Blowing Up on Streaming

Jason Statham's Secret Horror Masterpiece Is Dominating Global Streaming Charts

Keanu Reeves’ Ethnicity Makes His Underrated Thriller Even Better That Deserves a John Wick Style Franchise
Image
David Ayer‘s Street Kings (2008) may not be the most famous movie in Keanu Reeves’ oeuvre, but it is one of his best and most underrated works to date. However, what makes it even better is his mixed ethnicity, specifically Native Hawaiian, Chinese, and Portuguese ancestry [via IMDb], which saves the film from being trapped in an age-old Hollywood stereotype, i.e., featuring a white male actor in the role of a hero and savior.

Moreover, the film’s over-the-top action sequences and lone hero on a path of vengeance make it a solid precursor to Reeves’s John Wick saga, giving Street Kings a good reason to deserve the franchise treatment from Hollywood.

In this adrenaline-infused cop drama littered with moments of typical street bravado and badge lingo, Street Kings refuses to be boring for even a minute with its constant testosterone-fueled sequences of action and suspense.

Decade-Old Arnold Schwarzenegger Box Office Bomb Is Resurrected As A Streaming Hit
Image
Arnold Schwarzenegger has had a prolific but inconsistent career. On the one hand, he has been part of some huge action movies, including The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Both are regarded as sci-fi action classics, and have maintained interest even after decades.

On the other hand, the actor has had his fair share of flops over the course of his career. Such is the case, for example, with his 1985 version of Red Sonja. Despite its basis in existing comic book material, the film ended up making only $6.9 million worldwide. The following year, he released Raw Deal, which made only $16.2 million.

Schwarzenegger has particularly struggled in recent years, decades after his career peak. His 2017 film Aftermath, for example, did not even get a wide release in the United States and made less than $1 million from international markets. Now, one of his other 21st century bombs is doing well on streaming.

Meet the 26-Year-Old Who Reopened an 85-Year-Old Movie Theater
Image
Gen-Z is out of reach, so many distributors fret. They don’t care about the theatrical experience. But in St. Pete Beach, Florida, something remarkable happened: 26-year-old Hannah Hockman spearheaded the refurbishment of an 85-year-old indie movie theater. It was a 16-month process of interior demolition, design, and rebuilding that she spearheaded and documented over a series of YouTube videos.

When Hockman opened her restored Beach Theatre on July 18 with a screening of a documentary about its restoration, she took the stage to deliver remarks to a sell-out crowd. It was an extraordinary moment in the cultural life of this small barrier island on the Gulf Coast and a reminder that movie theaters can be a hub for an entire community.

“There’s definitely a perception of kids ‘these days’ always looking at their phones,” Hockman told IndieWire. “But I think there’s definitely a desire in my generation...

The highest-rated project of J.K. Simmons' decorated career is a popular watch once again, several years after it stopped airing. The Starz sci-fi thriller series, Counterpart, is a fast climber on the iTunes charts.

Ultra-Gritty Denzel Washington Crime Thriller Returns to Streaming: “Pulls you in from the first frame”
Image
If I know one thing about our base, it’s that you all are quite fond of a gritty crime thriller. Perhaps it’s the fact that such films allow us to safely escape to an unsafe place. There’s something quite compelling about that. It’s like going on a thrill ride. Deep down, you know you’re going to be just fine, yet you still get a massive adrenaline rush from the experience.

While plenty of crime thrillers allow viewers to safely escape into the narrative, few hold the distinction of starring the one and only Denzel Washington in an Oscar-winning performance. Believe it or not, a picture that checks all of those boxes is presently dominating the Paramount+ charts.

That’s right, dear reader, the Oscar-winning Denzel Washington crime thriller Training Day is currently the seventh most-watched film on the streamer. More than 20 years on from release,...

Margot Robbie didn’t read a word. Didn’t see a script. Had no co-stars to bounce off. Yet, she still said yes. That’s how the Aussie star landed herself in Suicide Squad, a chaotic, high-stakes DC gamble that ended up making over $749 million worldwide. Back in her early twenties, Robbie took the leap without any solid blueprint in hand. And it wasn’t the promise of playing Harley Quinn that pulled her in. It was all about the man calling the shots: David Ayer (via Qatar Tribune).

“I was like, ‘Okay, can I read the script?’ And they were like, ‘There’s no script.’ ‘Okay, is there anyone attached?’ ‘No one attached.’ ‘Is there a director?’ ‘Yeah, David Ayer.’ And I was like, ‘Well, I’m in!’ And that was kind of it!”

Former Superman Actor Comments on Fans’ Deep Connection to the Man of Steel: “We’re All Clark Kent” [Exclusive]
Image
The new Superman movie is now playing in theaters everywhere, but a Superman star from another project just shed some light on why he thinks the character has been such a success. It’s no secret that Superman is easily one of the most recognizable comic book figures ever — the Kryptonian stands alone at the top with other titans like Spider-Man and Batman, three wildly different characters. One of the things that makes Superman — and Spider-Man, for that matter — so relatable is his humanity. Although he’s an alien from another planet who can stop a speeding bullet and lift an entire building, Superman is still a human who has experienced the same challenges the rest of us.

Collider’s Maggie Lovitt recently moderated a panel at FanExpo Denver for several former Superman actors, including George Newbern, Tim Daly, Brandon Routh, Dean Cain, Tom Welling, and Tyler Hoechlin. During this panel,...

James Gunn's Entire DC Universe Timeline Explained
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

Spoilers for "Superman" to follow.

"Superman" is here and, Highfather willing, it's the beginning of a new DC Universe on film. James Gunn isn't just the movie's director, he's co-president of the new DC Studios with Peter Safran and is charged with assembling a DC Universe on film and television. The fate of "Superman" will determine the future of that Dcu and possibly parent studio Warner Bros'.

But there's messiness, because Warner Bros already spent a decade trying to make a cinematic universe out of the DC Comics world. That effort was called the DC Extended Universe. Gunn was involved back when the Dceu was still ongoing; he wrote-directed "The Suicide Squad" and created its TV spin-off, "Peacemaker."

Gunn has pretty consistently maintained that the Dcu is a fresh start, but it's not a clean break either. In a 2023 post on Threads,...

Pixar’s Biggest Bomb Barely Passes Jason Statham’s 47% Rotten Tomatoes Action Movie at the 2025 Box Office
Image
For only the second time in history, the annual box office rankings could be topped by a non-English-language film. This happened in 2020, when Demon Slayer: Mugen Train led the field amid mass global shutdowns, and it's poised to happen again this year, with the Chinese film Ne Zha 2 perched at the top of the charts. The movie has grossed a massive $2.2 billion worldwide, and it will take a big screen event of Avatar: Fire and Ash's magnitude to overtake it. No Hollywood film has been able to pass the $1 billion mark yet, but a new film recently entered the $100 million club. It's a different matter altogether that the film in question, Elio, has had a tremendously disappointing run so far.

On its 19th day of release at the global box office, Elio finally passed the $100 million milestone. The movie cost a reported $150 million to produce, and is poised...

Despite boasting a strong 92% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, the David Ayer-directed film has dropped down on MGM+’s Top 10 chart as of July 9, according to FlixPatrol. Currently sitting at No. 5 on MGM+, The Beekeeper has slipped behind newer titles but is still outperforming heavy-hitters like Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, The Magnificent Seven, and even Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning. Not bad for a sleeper hit with a modest $40 million budget.

While The Beekeeper is cooling off, Statham’s fans don’t have to worry — he’s still dominating elsewhere. His 2025 film A Working Man, another collaboration with Ayer, is currently No. 1 on MGM+’s Top 10 Overall list. The action star shows no signs of slowing down,...

Today's a Sad Day for Jason Statham Fans
Image
Jason Statham’s 2024 movie The Beekeepermay have a 92% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, but the conspiracy thriller is seeing a dip in viewership on streaming. Per FlixPatrol, as of July 9, The Beekeeper, directed by David Ayer and written by Kurt Wimmer, has dropped down in MGM+’s Top 10 list.

The film, which also stars Emmy Raver-Lampman, Josh Hutcherson, and Jeremy Irons, has fallen to fifth place. However, The Beekeeper is still ahead of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue, The Magnificent Seven, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, and Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning.

Another Statham Film is Dominating Streaming

It’s not all bad news for fans of Statham, though. His 2025 hit film, A Working Man,also directed by Ayer, is currently in the No. 1 spot on MGM+’s Top 10 Overall. The Beekeeper was a sleeper hit when it debuted in theaters in January 2024. It grossed more than $162.6 million worldwide,...

Jason Statham’s Forgotten $12 Million Action Flop Is a Global Streaming Hit Despite Changing Titles
Image
Action icon Jason Statham got the ball rolling in 2025 by starring in A Working Man, the action vehicle directed by David Ayer, but now a forgotten project from the star has become a surprising streaming hit over 10 years later. Statham stars alongside MCU veteran Benedict Wong in Redemption, formerly titled Hummingbird, the action film following a damaged former special forces soldier in London’s criminal underworld who steals another man’s identity. Redemption is streaming for free on Tubi and Pluto TV in the U.S. and on Starz globally, where it’s been one of the top 10 movies on the platform for 74 days. Redemption grossed only $12 million at the box office against a $20 million budget, and it earned “rotten” scores of 49% from critics and 38% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

Steven Knight wrote and directed the script for Redemption, and he famously considered Cillian Murphy for the lead role in...

Jason Statham Gets Swept Away By Sydney Sweeney on Streaming Charts
Image
The Prime Video viewership charts have finally witnessed some action after several weeks. During this time, The Accountant 2 had become a fixture at the number one spot, with a couple of recent Jason Statham action vehicles — A Working Manand Wrath of Man — jostling for space some rungs below. Briefly, the tremendously-reviewed period epic The Promised Land, starring Mads Mikkelsen, made its presence felt. However, the list was overdue a rejig, which has now happened. The number one spot was recently taken over by Heads of State, with a word-of-mouth blockbuster from 2023 also rising up the ranks.

Starring John Cena, Idris Elba, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Heads of State has been the number one movie on Prime Video across the globe ever since its release last week. The Accountant 2 has been pushed to the second spot. But in third place is the Sydney Sweeneyand Glen Powell-led romantic comedy Anyone But You.

B-Movie Fans Need To Check Out This Forgotten Action Thriller With Arnold Schwarzenegger
Image
There is perhaps no name more iconic in the realm of action movies than Arnold Schwarzenegger. After making a name for himself in the world of bodybuilding as Mr. Universe, Schwarzenegger shot to Hollywood fame when he was cast in the title role of James Cameron's "The Terminator." While he made his name playing action icons like the deadly T-800, Conan the Barbarian, and Dutch in "Predator," Schwarzenegger has also appeared in several tongue-in-cheek or outright comedic roles. "Kindergarten Cop" pitted his typical tough guy persona against a classroom full of kids, "Jingle All the Way" saw Schwarzenegger try his hand at a family Christmas comedy, and "Batman and Robin" saw him bring every ice pun you can think of to the role of Mr. Freeze.

In recent years, many of Schwarzenegger's roles seem to have landed somewhere in between hard-hitting action and his more lighthearted roles. "The Expendables...

6 Years Ago, Sylvester Stallone Concluded His Overlooked Action Trilogy That's Free to Stream Right Now
Image
Sylvester Stallone has starred in a lot of successful film franchises, from Rocky and Rambo to The Expendables and Guardians of the Galaxy. However, fans may have forgotten that the actor starred in an action franchise from the 2010s that is now streaming on Tubi.

The Escape Plan trilogy — Escape Plan (2013), Escape Plan 2: Hades (2018), and Escape Plan: The Extractors (2019) — was recently added to the free streaming service's film library. While not well-received by critics, the Escape Plan trilogy is largely remembered for the 2018 original marking the first time that Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger co-led a movie together. Considered the two biggest action stars of the 1980s (and most of the '90s too), Stallone and Schwarzenegger had never headlined an action movie together until Escape Plan. While they had previously worked together on The Expendables and its 2012 sequel, Schwarzenegger only appeared in a limited, supporting capacity as his character Trench.

Brad Pitt’s F1 Takes Over Jason Statham’s The Beekeeper At The Domestic Box Office!(Photo Credit –YouTube/Prime Video)

Snatch brought Brad Pitt and Jason Statham together in a sharp, stylish crime caper a quarter-century ago. Fast-forward 25 years, and the two are back in competition, not on screen this time but at the box office with F1 vs The Beekeeper.

Pitt’s new sports drama F1, made with a towering budget reportedly touching $300 million, has overtaken Statham’s The Beekeeper’s domestic box office collection ($66 million), earning $72 million in North America. However, it is still trailing behind the surprising 2024 strong performer by less than a million in total earnings.

Recently, F1 delivered one of the most exhilarating theatrical experiences. Brad Pitt flying on the big screen, and it feels electric.

The B-Side Ep. 165 – Mission: Impossible
Image
Welcome to The B-Side! Here we sometimes talk about movie stars! We sometimes talk about movie directors! Today, we talk about both! Specifically, the B-Sides of the Mission: Impossible franchise.

It’s just Conor and I today folks, waxing poetic on Tom Cruise’s legendary franchise and the B-Sides that we were inspired to discuss. We’ve chosen one for each of the Mission movies. It’s also July 3rd on the day this episode is published, so happy 63rd birthday Tom Cruise!

For the first Mission: Impossible, we speak on The Avengers from 1998. An adaptation of the popular British television series from the ‘60s, director Jeremiah S. Chechik’s film was dismantled in post-production, slashed to ribbons following bad test screenings. The final product runs well under ninety minutes and is hard to understand. It sits on the other end of blockbusters in the ‘90s adapted from hit televisions from yesteryear.

However, another more recent action vehicle from the star has found tremendous success on global streaming charts. Statham stars alongside fellow action icon Dwayne Johnson and Vanessa Kirby in Hobbs & Shaw, the Fast & Furious spin-off film that follows Luke Hobbs (Johnson) and Deckard Shaw’s (Statham) mission to stop a deadly virus from infecting all of humanity. Jason Statham's 71% Action Film Was the Biggest Sleeper Hit of 2024 (& It's Blowing Up on Streaming 1 Year Later)
Image
Streaming audiences cannot get enough of Jason Statham, who has emerged as one of the greatest action actors of this century. This is evident by the fact that the actor's 2024 action flick The Beekeeper has once again become a major streaming hit.

Per FlixPatrol, The Beekeeper is currently No. 9 on Prime Video's Top 10 Movies list in the United States. The 2024 action movie has been bouncing between No. 9 and No. 10 for the last week, although it did jump up to No. 7 on June 26. The Beekeeper has become a reliable performer on Prime Video for Amazon MGM Studios, which initially released the action movie in theaters in January 2024, where it became a sleeper hit, grossing $162 million off a $40 million budget. More than a year later, The Beekeeper has routinely made its way into Prime Video's Top 10 list since it debuted on the streamer.

Jason Statham’s $40 Million Sleeper Hit Gets Stung by Brad Pitt’s ‘F1’ at Global Box Office
Image
Many years ago, Brad Pitt and Jason Statham worked together on Guy Ritchie's Snatch, the cult classic crime comedy that remains an excellent showcase of their skills. Now, 25 years later, the two stars are facing off at the box office. On Tuesday, Pitt's new film, the mega-budget sports drama F1, overtook The Beekeeper, Statham's sleeper hit from not that long ago. Produced on a budget that has been reported to be as high as $300 million, F1 is set in the high-stakes world of Formula One racing, and features Pitt as a weathered driver who's called in to save his old buddy's team from crashing out.

The movie has made $153 million at the global box office so far, which puts it $1 million ahead of the $152 million that The Beekeeper ended its theatrical run with in 2024. The action-thriller was directed by David Ayer, and produced on a reported budget of $40 million.

Jason Statham’s New 47% Rotten Tomatoes Action Movie Quietly Takes Top Spot on American Streaming Charts
Image
Jason Statham has action movies trending on various streaming services, but the most recent vehicle from the iconic star is performing even better than expected. Statham stars alongside Michael Peña and David Harbour in A Working Man, the conspiracy thriller following Levon Cade (Statham), a man who left his old profession behind only to be called back to it after a local girl vanishes. A Working Man began streaming on Amazon MGM+ last week, and the film has wasted no time climbing to the top of the streamer’s charts, sitting at #1 at the time of writing. A Working Man grossed $88 million at the box office, just over its $40 million reported budget, and it earned a “rotten” 47% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes but a “verified hot” 87% on the audience-driven Popcornmeter.

Brad Pitt And Jon Bernthal's 2014 War Movie Is A Must-Watch On Tubi
Image
Of all the great military movies out there, David Ayer's "Fury" is largely overlooked. Despite being a box office success with an all-star cast, the war drama is rarely discussed in the same breath as classics like "Apocalypse Now" and "Saving Private Ryan." That's a shame, because "Fury" does a great job of portraying the horrors of conflict in a brutal and uncompromising manner. Fortunately, the film now has an opportunity to find new fans, as it's available to stream on Tubi for free.

"Fury" sees Brad Pitt and Jon Bernthal playing soldiers who must fight their way through German enemy lines during the final days of World War II -- while crammed up in a tank. As you can imagine, the experience is hellish for the troops, who must survive a never-ending siege. It's grueling stuff, but the tank battle sequences are truly exhilarating and action-packed. What's more,...

A Terminator Star Wanted To Play Jack Reacher Before Alan Ritchson
Image
Jack Reacher is fast becoming one of the most prominent action heroes of modern times. Much of that is down to "Reacher" star Alan Ritchson, whose 6-foot 3-inch, 235-pound frame has finally given fans a book-accurate version of the ex-military policeman character. Audiences can't get enough of Ritchson in the role, as evidenced by the fact season 3 of "Reacher" broke a Prime Video ratings record. The actor has made no secret of how hard he worked for the part and how grueling the casting process was, with Amazon initially hesitant to offer the actor the lead role in "Reacher." But he pushed ahead anyway, and fans couldn't be happier.

Prior to Ritchson's casting there were multiple actors up for the part, including Teddy Sears, Brandon Routh, and Brian Van Holt, but it seems one Australian star was gunning for the part in secret. Jai Courtney, who played John McClane's son...

Intriguing Details On Denis Villeneuve's James Bond Deal + Tom Holland On Amazon MGM's Shortlist Of Actors
Image
Earlier this month, Puck was the first outlet to reveal the shortlist of directors being considered for the next James Bond film.

Now, following the official announcement that Denis Villeneuve has been tapped to direct, the site has shared additional details about the arrangement.

According to Puck, which is operated by former Hollywood Reporter journalist Matt Belloni, Villeneuve will not receive final cut privileges on the film and he's only committed to directing a single installment, giving him the freedom to step away from the franchise if the experience doesn’t meet his expectations.

This decision aligns with long-standing tradition.

No Bond director has ever been granted final cut authority while the franchise remained under the creative oversight of the Broccoli family. That policy appears to remain intact under Amazon MGM, even after the studio paid Barbara Broccoli over $1 billion for exclusive creative control of the series.

Currently, Amazon MGM...

Over 500 people in the film industry took part in this poll, including actors, directors, and critics. They were asked to pick the best movies released since the start of the year 2000. Batman Claims the Title of 21st Century’s Greatest Superhero Movie
Image
Superhero movies have taken over the cinema in the 21st century, but only one of them has been crowned the greatest of them all in a major new ranking. According to The New York Times, The Dark Knight is the top superhero film of this century.

The New York Times asked over 500 people in the film industry—including directors, actors, and critics, to vote for the best movies made since January 1, 2000. Everyone had their own idea of what “best” meant, and out of all the superhero movies released, Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight came out on top. It landed at number 28 on the list of 100, way ahead of Black Panther, the only other superhero film on the list, which placed at number 96.

Steven Spielberg’s $482 Million WWII Mega Hit Lands a New Free Streaming Home

Steven Spielberg has delivered more than his fair share of hits over the years, but arguably the most famous movie from the acclaimed director just got an important streaming update. Spielberg helmed Saving Private Ryan in 1998, the classic WWII movie led by Tom Hanks and the late Tom Sizemore. Brad Pitt’s new F1 movie is now playing in theaters everywhere, but another project from the star that recently celebrated its 10th anniversary just got a disappointing streaming update.
