One of the most popular and enduring horror film series of all time is undoubtedly the Alien franchise, which began in 1979 with Alien and is still going strong in 2024. The franchise's long and storied history has had its ups and downs, as the series has gone from its relatively simple sci-fi horror roots to the huge, complicated Alien timeline we know today, but one major question with all long-running franchises has been how well the films tend to do when it comes to the box office.

The Alien franchise has been surprisingly consistent with its release schedule, releasing movies, whether they be full additions to the franchise or crossovers with other media, every five-to-seven years on average. While the series has never been among the top earners like Star Wars or the MCU in their prime, each film in the Alien franchise has been successful in one way or another,...

More Alien vs. Predator movies could be on the way, combining characters from the new subfranchises spawned by Prey and Alien: Romulus. The original crossover franchise between the Alien movies and the Predator movies kicked off with AvP in 2004 and was followed by a sequel subtitled Requiem in 2007. While AvP 3 has so far failed to come to fruition, both franchises are still going strong with the 2022 prequel Prey being followed by Predator: Badlands and 2024's Romulus becoming the second highest-grossing movie in the franchise.

The reception to Alien: Romulus has already been rather strong, making the future of the franchise seem much brighter. There's no telling if there will be any more Predator crossover movies, though Romulus director Fede Alvarez is open to the idea.

Per Deadline, Alvarez was asked about the possibility of working on a new Alien vs. Predator film following the release of Romulus. The director commented that it could be a collaboration with filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg, who directed the hit Predator prequel Prey. As far as whether he'd seriously be interested in heading down that road, Alvarez suggested that it would depend on the success of Romulus along with how much fan desire there might be for Alien vs. Predator 3 to happen.

The teaser Trailer for ‘Rapid Eye Movement‘ has been released, and it sure is a doozie. The plot of the movie centers around a man who attempts to break the 11-day world record for staying awake in the heart of Times Square. The film began shooting in New York all the way back in November of 2015, and the first teaser trailer is finally here. The film feels very reminiscent of films like ‘Buried‘ and ‘Phone Booth‘, seemingly taking place in one singular location. The film was shot almost exclusively in Times Square, and the filmmakers were given unprecedented access to the famous landmark. They were even allowed to construct a custom-built sound booth for shooting of the film.

2.20 Tomorrowland

After a couple of half-decent episodes, the quality in this story returned to the dire level that’s pock-marked this season, and series.

Where I really start to get annoyed with those who create this show is when they introduce an idea - in this case Mustard Gas - and then can’t actually be bothered to spend five minutes to research what it actually is and does. What wasn’t appreciated was they once an area is contaminated with this stuff you can’t be wandering around there, like Bass and Connor do a day later, because it causes horrific burns to exposed skin. As such it’s a weapon more for denying territory than actually killing. And, they couldn’t even get the colour right… predictably.

2.17 Why We Fight

After so many disjointed and unsuccessful stories, those behind Revolution took an entirely different tack with Why We Fight, and the result was a singularly more watchable story. It wasn’t a huge surprise to discover that this was written by Rockne S. O'Bannon, who also penned the stronger stories this season, Come Blow Your Horn and Mis Dos Padres.

There was no hint this week of Aaron and his long walk back from Lubbock, if he’s not still there having another Matrix experience. And, with relatively little from Tom and Jason, they managed to write simple but effective narrative with the basic premise of answering the question of the hour for the majority of characters.

Hawaii Five-0 is staging yet another Lost reunion.

The CBS drama - which moves to Fridays in the fall and premieres on September 27 - will feature Jorge Garcia on a Season 4 episode, as the man forever known to many as Hurley will portray a brilliant conspiracy theorist.

According to Entertainment Weekly, yes, Garcia will share scenes with former Lost co-star Daniel Dae Kim.

Since the ABC hit went off the air, Garcia has appeared on Alcatraz, Fringe and How I Met Your Mother (above).

Hawaii Five-0, meanwhile, has brought on board such Lost alums as Terry O’Quinn, Tania Raymonde and Reiko Aylesworth.

Fans of Hawaii 5-0 know that Chin Ho Kelly is brought to life by Daniel Dae Kim, an actor who used to be a part of the cult series Lost. When Jorge Garcia, another Lost alum, stops by the set for a guest role, you can bet Lost fans will be cheering about the mini-reunion.

The CBS series Hawaii 5-0 is the latest TV property to enlist a visit from Jorge Garcia. The actor was Hugo “Hurley” Reyes on Lost and that fact makes him pretty recognizable when he has a guest role these day. Lost co-creator J.J. Abrams chose Garcia for a principal role on Alcatraz as Dr. Diego Soto. That series fizzled, but Garcia went on to grace the Once Upon a Time set as Anton, the Giant.

Jorge Garcia, the erstwhile Hugo "Hurley" Reyes, will appear on an episode of the CBS crime drama in the fall, EW reports. He'll play a "brilliant conspiracy theorist" and likely share some screen time with his former "Lost" co-star Daniel Dae Kim.

Garcia, who had a recurring part on "Once Upon a Time" in 2012-13, will be at least the fifth former "Lost" cast member to make a guest appearance on "Five-0." Terry O'Quinn and Reiko Aylesworth have had recurring parts, while Tania Raymonde and Jeff Fahey did one-off guest spots.

Garcia's episode will likely air early in the season. "Hawaii Five-0" moves to Friday nights on CBS in the fall.

The latest to join Daniel Dae Kim on the CBS drama? Jorge Garcia, who EW can exclusively report is set to appear in an episode early next season. He will play a brilliant conspiracy theorist and reportedly share scenes with former Lost co-star Kim.

Five-0, which will move to Fridays in the fall, has a history of staging Lost reunions. Terry O’Quinn, Tania Raymonde and Reiko Aylesworth have all previously had guest roles.
