And if Romeo and Juliet had lived happily ever after, would Shakespeare’s play have become a timeless classic?
Thappad is a flawed but important film on a fractured marriage. Like director Anubhav Sinha’s earlier monumental works Mulk and Article 15, Thappad tears at the hypocrisy of the middle class to show how pathetically short we fall as a collective nation when it comes to basic human rights even within the four walls of private homes.
The issue in Thappad is ostensibly solvable.

Do Patti (2024) Movie Review: Important Messaging Gets Lost in the Morass of an Incoherent Narrative
Kanika Dhillon’s oeuvre seems to suggest a resurgence of the pulpy nature of storytelling as well as a hearkening back to noirish or neo-noirish sensibilities. But even within those pulpy storytelling tropes, Dhillon also tries to retrofit important social issues, especially concerning women. If there is one thing Dhillon should be praised for, it’s writing scripts for female characters with apparently strong characterization as well as providing variety beyond the usual constraints of commercial cinema.
I say apparently, and my tonality in the above paragraph carries a tone of uncertainty because this film is reliant on a screenplay that feels like it is unsure of what it wants to be. Mumbai, Feb 24: Bollywood couple Kajol and Ajay Devgn on Wednesday shared messages on social media to mark their marriage anniversary. The two had tied the knot on February 24, 1999.
"And you sir, you're very attractive. Therefore, I will stare at you!" - Anonymous & Me @ajaydevgn #22years #stillgoing #grateful #laughingalways," Kajol posted on Twitter along with a throwback picture of the two, gazing into each other's eyes.
Ajay posted a picture of a wine bottle with a picture of the two and the words "Battled in 1999 Only edition" written on it.
The couple have two kids, daughter Nysa (17) and son Yug (10) .
Kajol was recently seen in the film Tribhanga: Tedhi Medhi Crazy, directed by actress Renuka Shahane. The film, which also features Tanvi Azmi and Mithila Palkar, released digitally.

Kajol shared a photo with actress-director Renuka Shahane where the two look at the screen of Kajol's phone. "Me when I am all excited to share the meme I loved, with the person right next to me. Don't we all do the same? #MeWhenI," Kajol captioned the photo.

Veteran actress Tanvi Azmi feels women are not allowed to show their vulnerabilities and imperfections, and talks of the need to get to a place where they don't have to prove a point to anybody and get comfortable with it.
"The point is women are not allowed to show their vulnerabilities, their imperfections, they have to be in charge (always)... (There is a thing) inculcated in our upbringing that ‘you have to be sensible'. I just feel sometimes it takes away everything from you because you have to be sensible," Azmi told Ians while talking about women embracing their vulnerabilities and flaws.
"At home, I tend to create a lot of drama. So, my daughter says, ‘why are you so dramatic about everything'. I told her ‘that is because I'm an actor. This is myself and I will do this'," she added.

On Friday, Kajol posted the note on her Instagram Stories.
Kajol's note read, "There should be a calorie refund for things that didn't taste as good as they should've! Word!"

Just like life, Tribhanga is somewhat off-kilter, a little askew, at times uneven and even patchy. But the story of three generations of women from one family, spirited, unorthodox, unfettered, holds together, moles, warts and all. Tribhanga is a fiercely original film, though cinephiles would like to see distinct shades of Ingmar Bergman’s imperishable classic Autumn Sonata in Renuka Shahane’s striking debut film. But that, like much in life, is only an illusion.
The film’s scenes are ignited by the presence of Kajol. The fieriest actress on this side of Fearless Nadia and Geeta Bali, Kajol brings to Tribhanga a kind of unrehearsed ferocity that is at once intimidating, intriguing, and irresistible.

Actress Kajol enjoyed working on the women-dominated set of her upcoming digital film Tribhanga: Tedhi Medhi Crazy, and recalled how there was a time when men were not willing to participate in gender conversations.
"There was so much estrogen on ‘Tribhanga' sets that we completely beat the testosterone. We had too much fun on the sets and cracked multiple dirty jokes, if you saw the BTS (behind the scenes) of this film -- you would be in splits," Kajol said.

He plays Milan, a videographer, tracing the journey of Nayan, a critically acclaimed Marathi litterateur played by Tanvi Azmi, who is unable to write an autobiography. The film, written and directed by Renuka Shahane, also stars Kajol and Mithila Palkar.
"When I found out that my character is going to speak in ‘shudh' Hindi, I was amazed that she believed I could do it. For the character I had to work on my diction and ensure that I don't have any interjections in English," Kunaal said while talking about his preparations to get his Hindi diction right.
"We usually have a tendency to speak ‘Bambaiya' Hindi where you throw in a few English words but this character was very different and couldn't do that.
