BayView Entertainment have released the horror film The Dark Sisters on Blu-ray (Region Free) and Digital platforms such as Amazon Prime Video and Flix Fling.

The Dark Sisters will also be available to view on AVOD from 1st January 2024.

Synopsis:

Sisters Jorie and Kaidon attempt to reconnect over a vacation in the woods after a terrible secret drove them apart. But there is a hidden power in the forest that measures life and death, and this power means to weigh the sister’s future against the dark crime from their past.

Exclusive Interview: Richard Bailey (The Dark Sisters) Prior to getting into filmmaking what was your background and what life experiences have you brought into the film world?

I grew up on a small farm in Texas, and so the idea of making movies seemed pretty remote. I found that I had a cinematic imagination. Chores like feeding cows, mowing fields and mending fences were all invested with cinematic flourish. I saw apocalypse-inducing machinery in large rusty tractors. I saw my ghost every day in the fading glass of an antique mirror. I imagined lens flares and tracking shots in all my labours. I’m grateful for the digital technology that makes it possible for people like me to make movies. I’d have no way forward if it wasn’t for digital.

What can you tell us about your horror film The Dark Sisters (2023), without giving any spoilers?

Mike Henderson, a founding member of the bluegrass band the SteelDrivers and a frequent co-writer of Chris Stapleton’s, died Friday. He was 70. Henderson’s former bandmates in the SteelDrivers confirmed his death in a Facebook post.

“All the SteelDrivers, past and present, are in shock today as we have lost our original architect,” they wrote.

The audience at Nashville’s famed Grand Ole Opry got one awesome surprise on the evening of September 25 when Bill Murray made an unannounced appearance to sing alongside country and folk music legend John Prine and The Steeldrivers. The appearance marked Murray’s Grand Ole Opry debut. The group sang Prine’s 1971 song “Paradise,” and Murray’s beaming smile as he belts out the chorus is priceless.

Murray has been a longtime fan of The Steeldrivers, the Nashville bluegrass band featuring fiddler Tammy Rogers, bassist Mike Fleming, guitarist Kelvin Damrell, mandolinist Brent Truitt, and banjoist Richard Bailey. The band is well known for being the launch pad for country music superstar Chris Stapleton. Murray has made surprise appearances at numerous Steeldrivers concerts, even buying tickets for his fans to one of the band’s 2017 concerts. The band was featured in Murray’s 2009 movie “Get Low.”

Bill Murray surprised fans at the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday night, crashing the stage to perform John Prine’s “Paradise” with Prine and the bluegrass band the Steeldrivers.
