Biography

    • Steve Banerjee was born on October 8, 1946 in Bombay, Bombay Presidency, British India. He was a producer and writer, known for Ladies Night (1983), Chippendales (2001) and Tall Dark & Handsome (1987). He died on October 23, 1994 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Trivia

  • Chippendales was created by Steve Banerjee in 1979. He hired Nick Denoia to create an upgraded male review show. The show was successful and it expanded through the USA. Nick started getting the credit for Chippendales and the personalities between Denoia and Banerjee were opposites. Banerjee hired a hitman to kill Denoia in 1987 in New York. Banerjee was convicted of hiring the men who killed Nick De Noia and it was alleged that Banerjee also attempted to have Nahin killed simultaneously with De Noia but that Nahin's trip to NYC to meet De Noia was delayed because of an illness of one of Nahin's children. Banerjee was sentenced to 26 years in prison but committed suicide while behind bars.
