Notorious B.I.G.'s Junior M.A.F.I.A. Crew 'Get Money' Video, Frame By Frame
Lil' Kim recalls the Notorious B.I.G. and takes us behind the 1996 clip, which spoofed late rapper's love-life dramas.

By Alvin Blanco, with reporting by Ade Mangum

Notorious B.I.G. in the "Get Money" video

In 1996, Lil' Kim was the standout member of the Notorious B.I.G.'s Junior M.A.F.I.A. crew. The Big Momma had stolen the show on their lead single "Player's Anthem," from the collective's album Conspiracy, and was again the main draw on their third single, "Get Money." Rapping alongside B.I.G. himself, the Queen Bee held her own and previewed the extravagant lifestyle that would play out in the video.

The Notorious B.I.G. died an untimely death on March 9, 1997, the year after the video's release, but it remains a part of his and the Junior M.A.F.I.A.'s musical legacy. When last week, she spoke to MTV News about the memorable clip, walking us through it frame by frame.

What If Notorious B.I.G. Were Still Here For His 37th Birthday?
by Rahman Dukes

Arguably one of the greatest rappers ever to clutch the microphone, the Notorious B.I.G. celebrates what would have been his 37th birthday today. That’s right, the late great Frank White would have been just three years shy of officially being considered “over the hill.”

Since his untimely demise at the age of 24, there’s been much speculation for the past decade as to where the Brooklynite would stand in today’s rap climate. Would B.I.G. and his sidekick/boss Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs still be rocking together? What about Jay-z? Lil Kim? Let’s take a look.

Bad Boy: Although B.I.G. was the label’s flagship artist and only on his second album (a double at that), a certain Mr. Comb’s track record of retaining his artists for the duration of their contractual obligations is not an impressive one (check: Craig Mack,...

Scenes We Love: The Long Kiss Goodnight
With Renny Harlin's 12 Rounds opening this Friday, you might hear a little more about Harlin's plans for a sequel to The Long Kiss Goodnight. Earlier this month, he told Moviehole that all plans were on the back burner, but that he had a script ready and waiting should the oppertunity arise. Naturally, it would be a Samuel L. Jackson vehicle, as 95% of all movies being made today are.

I can't stand the idea of a sequel -- namely because no script Harlin penned would ever be as good one by Shane Black, but also because the movie was about an amnesiac assassin named Charlie Baltimore. The charm of the movie is that her psychotic nature is buried within a happy-go-lucky mom who enjoys baking muffins and wearing ugly Christmas sweaters. Making a sequel that centers on her sidekick (even if her sidekick was Jackson) is just a little insulting.

Cinematical Seven: Unconventional Holiday Movies
When it comes to unconventional holiday stories, I believe we have one man to thank: Charles Dickens. We're so numb to the traditional charms and affirmations of A Christmas Carol that we don't realize how bizarre it really is. Visions of death and despair figure more prominently than sugar plums and reindeer hooves -- I mean, the Grim Reaper shows up! Surely that helped pave the way for violent Christmas stories like these. I doubt many of you will find these selections that unconventional (Die Hard is a Christmas staple in many a household) but they certainly don't star Jimmy Stewart or Charlie Brown.

1. L.A. Confidential

"You're like Santa Claus with that list, Bud, except everyone on it's been naughty. " This is a Christmas staple in our house. Technically, only the beginning of the film is set at Christmas, but the entire plot hinges on that fateful holiday. If...
