  • Born in a hospital corridor during an air raid drill.
  • Played "Archie Andrews" in Life with Archie (1962), a 1962 pilot for a TV series, based on the "Archie" comic books.
  • As of 2003 he has four daughters and five grandchildren.
  • Has been a successful stockbroker since 1973.
  • Profiled in the 2016 book "X Child Stars: Where Are They Now?" by Kathy Garver and Fred Ascher.
  • Typecasting as "Lumpy Rutherford", on Leave It to Beaver (1957), forced him out of the business. Still attends nostalgia conventions.
  • His memoir, "Call Me Lumpy", published in 1997, described his 1960s "perpetual sexfest" in which he admits to having "slept with over 1,000 women".
  • Brother of actor Douglas Bank.
  • Died the day after his 71st birthday.
  • Bank died of cancer in Rancho Mirage, California. He was interred at Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery in Culver City, California.
  • He died on Tony Dow's (Wally Cleaver) 68th birthday.
