12/2023 Star Barry is an Atlanta/ Los Angeles based Cinematographer who has participated and created work in the film industry for over 25 years. Although he currently resides in Atlanta, he moved to Los Angeles after graduating from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatrical Arts. Star has worked on big budget films including Dreamwork's Hotel for Dogs and Universal's Van Helsing to low budget experimental shorts like the award winning, internationally acclaimed, five more minutes. He has worked on numerous independent movies spanning many genres from dance to horror. Titles including Stand Up Guys, Gone, Step Sisters and 2001 Maniacs: Filed of Screams. He has worked on network TV shows like Found, Dynasty, The Vampire Diaries, Charlies Angeles and CSI: Las Vegas/Miami. He has also worked on MTV's Scream and Disney's Magic Jersey. Star helped win an ASC award for Jerry Bruckheimer's 11th Hour and Bruckheimer's Dark Blue. Star has also worked on numerous commercials from L'real and Target to Fiber One and Purina. His career also spans many pilots, music videos, network promos, industrials and infomercials.

Star's background lends itself to a narrative, performance based, visual and intuitive style of filmmaking, grounded in preparation and experience. He strives to honor, Lend credence to, and exceed the ambition of a given project, while working in the constraints of its budget and time available.
