Image
The Kung Fu film adaptation starring Donnie Yen is "in development," according to filmmaker David Leitch. The big-screen adaptation will see Yen taking on the role of Kwai Chang Caine, who was first brought to life by David Carradine on the 1970s television series, Kung Fu. Leitch hints at the potential possibility of his modern-day Kung Fu being shot in IMAX.

Kwai Chang Caine’s return in the previously announced Kung Fu film adaptation is “in development,” according to filmmaker David Leitch. Leitch is busily promoting the upcoming release of his newest film, The Fall Guy, which stars Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. And while speaking with Steve Weintraub at the SXSW film festival, Leitch revealed that “we’re making” the Donnie Yen-led Kung Fu film “happen.” Leitch said in an interview with Collider:

“I'm obviously really passionate about both those things. And you know, kung fu, martial arts...

Fun with Frankie!

I don’t recall A Modern Prometheus featuring a gorilla…

There was never a gorilla in the classic novel. However, there is a comedy gorilla (aka a man in a suit) in an amusing film noir segment about a detective who finds himself trapped in the laboratory with the...

Production wraps on ‘Tales of Frankenstein’
Production has just wrapped in Los Angeles on the horror film Tales of Frankenstein, starring Game of Death’s Mel Novak and Wolverine creator Len Wein in his final film. The movie is based upon four of writer-director Donald F. Glut’s (The Empire Strikes Back novel) short stories published in his book of the same name:

“My Creation, My Beloved,” (a deformed descendant of Victor Frankenstein creates the perfect man and woman), “Crawler from the Grave,” (another Frankenstein descendant’s disembodied, plague-infected arm returns from the grave for revenge), “Madhouse of Death” (a private detective winds up in an old dark house filled with loonies…and a gorilla) and “Dr. Karnstein’s Creation,” (a mad doctor creates a monster in vampire-haunted Transylvania – with gruesomely unexpected results).

Tales of Frankenstein also stars Jerry Lacy (TV’s Dark Shadows), Ann Robinson (War of the Worlds), Beverly Washburn (Old Yeller), John Blyth Barrymore,...

Afm 2013: New Teaser Trailer and Poster for Hitchhiker Massacre
Afm 2013 came to a close yesterday, but we still have a few tales to tell from the huge event... such as the latest on Hitchhiker Massacre, which debuted a new trailer and poster art at the show, both of which we have right here!

Retrofocus Pictures' slasher horror film Hitchhiker Massacre is directed by James L. Bills (Refuge of Last Resort) and produced by J. Horton (Monsters in the Woods, Edges of Darkness). Retrofocus is the brainchild of executive producer Ivan Nagy, who created the HBO series "The Hitchhiker" and directed Skinner.

The film stars Ely Lamay, Calista Carradine, John Barrymore, James Bartholet, Veronica Lavery, and Katherine Cronyn.

"Hitchhiker Massacre is a love letter to the slasher flicks I loved as a kid: Friday the 13th, Halloween, The Toolbox Murders, The Slumber Party Massacre. Gone is the self-referential, jokey comedy that infected so much horror post-Scream. I just wanted to make an honest,...

James L. Bills' Hitchhiker Massacre Shows More Meat in this Second Trailer
The grindhouse slasher Hitchhiker Massacre is currently at the American Film Market, in Santa Monica. Here, the film, from producers Jason Horton (Edges of Darkness) and Ivan Nagy (Skinner), is showing to distributors. The film has also released a second trailer at the event. The clip shows more of the film's bare bones story and it focuses on what matters, bloodshed! Also, Hitchhiker Massacre stars John Barrymore, Calista Carradine, Playboy Playmate Veronica Lavery, Ely Lamay and Stephanie Gerard. The film begins with Sally (Lamay). She wants to leave her troubles behind by travelling across America. Things go wrong when Sally is picked up by a mysterious trucker. This driver is more cannibal, than good Samaritan. Now, Sally will have to fight for her life, or become just another meal. Hitchhiker Massacre is a throwback to slasher films of the past. Director James L. Bills says of the film: "[it] is a...

Would You Pick Up this Trailer and Stills from Hitchhiker Massacre?

Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003)
Barrymore Snubs Dying Father
Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003)
Sexy Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle star Drew Barrymore is refusing to see her desperately ill father - because she can't forgive the way he treated her. Drew cut all ties with 50s film star John Drew Barrymore two years ago, after a blazing row at his Malibu, California, home. More recently, the Wedding Singer babe failed to attend a court hearing to determine who would care for the ailing actor. John was wheeled into a Los Angeles mental health court to find out whether his son, Drew's half-brother John Barrymore III, could be given the responsibility of providing day-to-day care for his father. Barrymore's son understands why Drew doesn't want to play a part in her father's life, but wishes she would at least return his phone calls. He says, "I don't know if Drew knows anything about this hearing. My father is in here a lot. I have tried to contact her through her people, as I don't have a contact for her directly. I would have liked her to be here but she just does not want to get into contact now. She is her own person and she can do what she wants. My father was not very nice to her and maybe she thinks what she is doing is enough." Despite cutting emotional ties, the actress still shells out financially, paying around $48,000 a year for her father's care.
