Clint Eastwood debuted his final film last year with Juror #2, but nearly 10 years before he hung up his director’s camera for the final time, he helmed a critically acclaimed docudrama that’s returned to streaming charts. In 2016, Eastwood directed Sully, the disaster biopic starring Tom Hanks (Greyhound) and Aaron Eckhart (Olympus Has Fallen) that tells the story of Chesley Sullenberger, the famous pilot who landed his plane on the Hudson River to save the lives of his passengers and crew. Sully is currently streaming on HBO Max in the United States, but globally, it’s become one of the most popular movies on VOD nine years later. Sully earned scores of 85% from critics and 84% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and it grossed $243 million at the box office against a $60 million budget.

Netflix has officially canceled Fubar after 2 seasons — and fans of the series starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Monica Barbaro are saying the same thing about the news. On August 1, Deadline reported that Fubar would not return for Season 3. The decision came after its Season 2 premiere on July 12 yielded lackluster viewership on the streaming platform. Only 2.2 million views came in from Thursday to Sunday, down from 11 million views for the Season 1 premiere weekend. Fubar peaked at #7 on Netflix with 3.3 million views during its first full week. For its third week, the show dropped to #10 with 1.8 million views before it exited the Top 10 altogether. For the action-comedy series, CIA agent Luke Brunner (Schwarzenegger) discovered his daughter, Emma (Barbaro), was also part of the CIA. The father-daughter duo was forced to work together to stop an arms dealer, blurring the lines between their professional and personal lives. Additionally, Fubar starred Carrie-Anne Moss, Fortune Feimster,...

Netflix has decided not to continue with a third season of Fubar, the spy action series starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. This announcement came about a month and a half after Season 2 was released on June 12, 2025. Despite Schwarzenegger’s huge star power, the show struggled to keep its audience, leading to the cancellation after just two seasons.
Fubar first premiered in May 2023 and had a strong start, helped in part by Schwarzenegger’s worldwide fame. Monica Barbaro, who stars alongside him, had also gained attention by becoming an Oscar nominee between the first and second seasons for her work in A Complete Unknown. However, when Season 2 finally arrived more than two years later, the show’s viewership dropped sharply.
According to Netflix viewing data, Season 2 barely made it into the Top 10 English-language shows during its first week, landing at the very bottom with 2.2 million views from Thursday to Sunday. This was a...

Fubar has been canceled after two seasons, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
News of the show’s cancellation arrived Friday night after its streaming ratings notably declined between season premieres. In total, Fubar’s minutes of viewing declined by 73 percent from season one to two. During its premiere week, the series landed at No. 8 among Netflix’s original shows for its second season.
The action comedy starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Oscar nominee Monica Barbaro, who portray a father-daughter spy duo. Netflix has canceled the Arnold Schwarzenegger series “Fubar” after two seasons, Variety has confirmed. The series was a hit for the streamer in Season 1, back in 2023, but failed to perform as well during its second season, which premiered on June 12 — more than two years after its initial run. The show managed to make Nielsen’s streaming originals top 10 for the week of June 16, after its premiere, but then fell off the chart the following week.
Here was the logline to the series: “Luke Brunner is a veteran CIA operative who, up until recently, was on the verge of retirement. After his last mission in saving another operative – who just so happened to be his daughter – he’s back and face to face with new villains. This one is an old flame from Luke’s past who threatens to destroy the world…if she doesn’t destroy his life first.”

Deadline reports that Netflix has cancelled Fubar after just two seasons. The action/comedy series starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as Luke Bremmer, a CIA operative on the verge of retirement who discovers a family secret and is forced to go back into the field for one last job. Unfortunately, the cancellation isn’t a big surprise, as the second season came and went with minimal impact, with the show barely occupying the last spot in Netflix’s Top 10 in its first week.
The second season saw Carrie-Anne Moss join the cast as Greta Nelso, a former East German spy who has a passionate history with Schwarzenegger’s character. The show also starred Monica Barbaro as Emma Brunner, Luke’s daughter and a fellow CIA operative. The rest of the cast includes Milan Carter, Fortune Feimster, Travis Van Winkle, Fabiana Udenio, Aparna Brielle, Guy Burnet, Andy Buckley, Jay Baruchel, Barbara Eve Harris,...

Exclusive: Netflix is not proceeding with a third season of Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s spy action series Fubar. The decision comes about a month and a half after Season 2 launched on the platform on June 12.
It follows a surprisingly soft return for the series, which, likely fueled by Schwarzenegger’s global star power, had a strong debut in May 2023 and also stars Monica Barbaro who became an Oscar nominee between Seasons 1 and 2 for A Complete Unknown.
With Season 2 released more than two years after Season 1 dropped, Fubar barely made Netflix’s Top 10 for English-language series in its first week, landing in the last spot with 2.2M views from Thursday through Sunday, down from about 11M views for the show’s Season 1 premiere weekend. Season 2 peaked at #7 in its first full week with 3.3M views and logged one more #10 finish in Week 3 with 1.8M views before dropping out of the Top 10.

28 years after the release of Happy Gilmore, Adam Sandler is back with his sequel, Happy Gilmore 2. Set 29 years after Happy Gilmore won his first Tour Championship, he now returns to play golf for his daughter’s ballet school.
Just like the first film, the sequel is full of Sandler’s blend of potty‑mouth wit, underdog grit, and heartfelt redemption. The sequel brings back the beloved golf icon nearly three decades after the original, with nostalgic callbacks, the classic soundtrack, and a plot that finds Happy mentoring the next generation while still throwing fastballs (or golf tees) at anyone who gets in his way.
Reuniting Sandler with several of the original stars like Julie Bowen, Ben Stiller, Blake Clark, and Christopher McDonald, the film also stars several fresh faces like Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, and his daughters Sadie and Sunny Sandler. A sports comedy drama that would reignite your love for absurd premises,...

“You should see the other guy. ”That’s the caption Reacher star Alan Ritchson went with in his latest Instagram video, showing off a fresh black eye from the set of Season 4. The Reachercast and crew got a surprise visit from former United States President Joe Biden recently, as the show's star Alan Ritchson posted about the interaction on social media. However, that's not the only reason why the show has been trending lately. Aside from that presidential experience and fans' excitement about Season 4 (which is currently being filmed), news of a recast has been announced. According to Deadline, Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette, who starred in Freddy vs. Jason and Race to Witch Mountain, joined the cast in a recasting. The opportunity arose after actor Jay Baruchel had to exit the series for personal reasons.
Deadline reported that the replacement comes after it was revealed that Baruchel joined the cast a few weeks ago. Rodriguez-Marquette will now play Jacob Merrick, a small-town policeman. The role is no small part; it is supposedly meaty, which means the actor's character should have a lot of camera time.

Reacher is returning to the screens with its fourth season, bringing back Alan Ritchson along with the rest of the star-studded cast. Besides the actors who were already there, the incredible cast has also been met with additions as some new stars have been cast in the show as well – a list that formerly included actor Jay Baruchel, too.
However, as the release date of the same draws near, the Prime Video series has some rather disappointing news to share with the fans: the fan-favorite Baruchel can no longer make its way to the screens alongside Ritchson’s titular hero. Instead, the role has been recast with another stunning actor: Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette.

Prime Video's hit action series Reacher is officially coming back with Season 4. The fans won't have to wait long, as the show has returned to filming a few months after Season 3's finale in March.
The series is based on Lee Child's Jack Reacher anthology series, and follows its titular protagonist, an elite ex-military police major, as he travels across the U.S., exposing conspiracies, corruption, and trafficking. Many cast members changed from one season to the other, and Reacher Season 4 has recently announced new additions. However, shortly after the cast reveal, Deadline reports Jay Baruchel has been recast, and Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette will take over.
How to Train Your Dragon's Jay Baruchel had been originally cast as Jacob Merrick, a small-town policeman. However, he was reportedly "forced to exit" the production shortly after he was cast to "attend to a personal matter." Instead, Barry star Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette will take over the role.

Reacher’s next case just got a whole lot more complicated — and it’s bringing in a fresh face to help crack it. Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette (HBO’s Barry) has joined the cast of Reacher Season 4 in a recasting, according to Deadline. He steps into the role of small-town cop Jacob Merrick, a character described as pivotal in the upcoming season’s adaptation of Gone Tomorrow, the 13th book in Lee Child’s long-running Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) series. Rodriguez-Marquette replaces Jay Baruchel, who was originally announced for the role just weeks ago but exited due to personal reasons. According to sources close to production, the casting was a lightning-fast turnaround: Rodriguez-Marquette was hired the same day the role became available and flown to set just days later.

Amazon Prime Video's Reacherseason 4 is undergoing a major casting change just days after filming in Philadelphia. Production for Reacher season 4 began earlier this month, soon after series lead Alan Ritchson confirmed which Jack Reacher novel would be tapped for the latest TV adaptation. As an anthology series with nearly 30 books to choose from, Reacher follows its elite ex-military titular protagonist as he travels around the country with only the contents in his pockets, getting involved in various conspiracies, revenge stories, and the like.
Per Deadline, Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette has replaced Jay Baruchel as Reacher season 4's new supporting character, Jacob Merrick. Baruchel reportedly left the production to "attend to a personal matter." Rodriguez-Marquette is best known for his role as Chris Lucado in HBO's Emmy-winning dark comedy series Barry. Steven Soderbergh’s dark comedy The Christophers and The Marvels director Nia DaCosta’s latest film, Hedda, are set for world premieres at the Toronto Film Festival in September, organizers said on Thursday.
Ian McKellen, Jessica Gunning, Michaela Coel and James Corden star in Soderbergh’s movie about the estranged children of a famous artist who hire a forger to finish their father’s unfinished paintings so they can be sold after his death.
Soderbergh directed The Christophers based on a script by Now You See Me scribe Ed Solomon. The creative duo collaborated on earlier projects like No Sudden Move, Full Circle and Mosaic.
Also getting a first look in Toronto is DaCosta’s Hedda, a reimagining of the Henrik Ibsen stage play Hedda Gabler that stars Tessa Thompson, Nina Hoss and Imogen Poots. Thompson will play Hedda Gabler, considered one of the greatest dramatic roles in theater history.

Reacher season 4 is heading to New York City, and it looks like the Prime Video show is adapting Gone Tomorrow. Alan Ritchson recently posted a selfie on Instagram of him holding a copy of Lee Child’s Gone Tomorrow.
The TV show hasn’t followed Lee Child’s books chronologically. It started with the Reacher novel Killing Floor, then leapt ahead to the 11th book in the series, Bad Luck and Trouble. Season 3 then jumped back to book 7, Persuader. The team seem to be picking the more action-packed books rather than following the strict timeline.
The author admits that the books are written in a way that means you don’t need to read in order. "I want them to be able to read that as equal to any other book in the series," he told Men's Journal earlier this year. So, it doesn’t matter than the fourth season is the 13th book.

The title Fubar might catch you off guard at first—it sounds strange, almost like a joke. But it’s actually military slang for “Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition,” which, in hindsight, fits the show like a glove. Everything about Fubar screams chaos—characters constantly caught in messy situations, missions spiraling out of control, and secrets exploding at the worst possible moments.
At the heart of the story are Luke Brunner and his daughter Emma—both living double lives as CIA agents without knowing the other is doing the same. Their entire dynamic is built on lies until a shared assignment blows the lid off everything. What follows is part spy-thriller, part messy family drama, as Luke and Emma stumble their way through rebuilding trust, learning to see each other not just as father and daughter, but as flawed, layered individuals trying to make sense of the wreckage together.

Amazon Prime Video isn’t slowing down when it comes to Reacher. Season 4 is officially in production, and the clues are already out in the open—literally. A script casually left on a New York City subway seat in a teaser image strongly hints at the season’s literary source: Gone Tomorrow, the 13th book in Lee Child’s Jack Reacher series. The setting? Manhattan. The vibe? Shadowy, dangerous, and unmistakably classic Reacher.

Reacher Season 4 Release Details
Let’s do the math for release date, season 3 began filming in late 2023 and is set for a February 2025 drop. That’s a 15-month window from start to finish. Season 4 production kicked off mid-June 2025. Add the same timeline? You’re looking at September 2026. That means fans should brace for a longer-than-usual wait of about 19 months between seasons.

If you've watched both seasons of "Severance," you know that Britt Lower — who plays her innie Helly R. and outie Helena Eagan on Dan Erickson's inventive "workplace" series on Apple TV+ — is a really, really good actor. I'll circle back to all of that and praise her in a bit, but before she rose to international fame and acclaim on "Severance," Lower appeared in a ton of projects, including an episode of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."
Before "Severance," Lower showed up in movies like 2015's "Sisters" (with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler as the titular siblings) and cult hit TV shows like "Man Seeking Woman," where she plays Lisa Greenberg, the older sister to Jay Baruchel's lead Josh Greenberg. Lower also worked on the procedural series "Unforgettable," Jason Reitman's Hulu comedy "Casual," the short-lived Craig Robinson series "Ghosted" (which also featured Lower's future "Severance" co-star Adam...

A studio that originally positioned itself as the antithesis to Disney is taking a very Disney-esque approach with its live-action rendition of one of its most revered IPs, arguably one of the most non-Disney Disney movies of the 2010s. This isn’t inherently a bad thing, as not only did the original director return to helm the live-action How to Train Your Dragon, but the creators did manage to realize most of the nausea-inducing moments from the original.

The live-action How to Train Your Dragon has officially taken flight at the global box office, pulling in a soaring $197.8 million in its opening weekend. That includes a solid $83.7 million domestically and an impressive $114.1 million from international markets.
With a reported production budget of $150 million and an estimated $100 million in marketing costs, Universal will need the film to approach the $500 million mark globally just to break even after accounting for theater revenue splits.
Fortunately, the film’s strong debut has it on track for a projected worldwide total between $600 million and $700 million, well into profitable territory. With numbers like these, it’s increasingly likely that Toothless and Hiccup will be returning for more live-action adventures in the not-so-distant future.

Netflix's action-adventure spy series Fubar brought back Arnold Schwarzenegger in a leading role, this time on television. The series debuted in 2023, and just returned with Season 2.
Season 1 was not a big hit with the critics, and received lukewarm reactions from the audience. However, things vastly improved for the new installment, with the show even debuting with a fresh score. As more reviews came in, that has changed slightly, but Fubar Season 2 has the critics and the audience divided with very different scores on Rotten Tomatoes.
Fubar Season 2 originally debuted with a "fresh" 67% rating from the critics, higher than the first season's 50% approval. As more reviews came in, the score eventually settled on a 56% out of nine reviews. Although the series has failed to hold on to a "fresh" score, it received an exciting score from the audience.

The Governator is officially back with Season 2 of his hit action comedy series, Fubar. Hailing from Reacher's Nick Santora, the Arnold SchwarzeneggerNetflix title has centered on the aging Luke Brunner and his daughter Emma (Monica Barbaro), who, initially unbeknownst to each other, are both CIA agents and are later forced to team up, bringing their dysfunctional family dynamic to the workplace. They're not alone in their high-octane adventures, though. Travis Van Winkle and Fortune Feimster have starred in both seasons as the pair's teammates, and each of them has had their chance to shine with some daring action sequences. For the former, one stunt in particular stands out above the rest as the most "intense" moment to film.

Jonathan Decker, a licensed therapist, recently watched How To Train Your Dragon 2 in order to assess whether Valka is a bad mother. How To Train Your Dragon 2 follows on from the 2010 DreamWorks movie, which saw Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) become friends with a Night Fury, changing the fictional village of Berk and its perception of the relationship between Vikings and dragons. The second How To Train Your Dragon movie is set five years later, and sees Hiccup finally reunite with his long-lost mother, Valka, who apparently left her son as a child due to Berk’s mistreatment of dragons.
In a Cinema Therapy video, Decker and filmmaker Alan Seawright discussed Valka’s parenting in How To Train Your Dragon 2, stating that “I feel like a lot of people online are triggered by Valka.” The main problem that Decker identifies with Hiccup’s mother in How To Train Your Dragon 2...

Released alongside the romantic comedy Materialists this week, DreamWorks' How to Train Your Dragon seems to be the clear winner, both at the box office and in terms of audience response. It's the animation studio's first live-action remake, after Disney popularized the format over the last decade or so. How to Train Your Dragon arrives in uncertain times, with audiences apparently getting a little tired of these movies, with the recent Snow White and The Little Mermaid both underperforming. Fortunately for Universal, How to Train Your Dragon averted a similar fate, as it counts on the millennials who grew up on the original to show up in theaters.
Even with the disappointing performances of Snow White and The Little Mermaid, Disney itself experienced the sheer power of this demographic recently, with its Lilo & Stitch remake delivering a Memorial Day record. The movie has since grossed over $350 million domestically and almost $850 million worldwide.

Thanks for nothing, you useless reptile. This article contains major spoilers for the "How To Train Your Dragon" remake and the original film.
Another day brings us yet another live-action remake of a beloved animated film and, this time, the DreamWorks feature "How To Train Your Dragon" finds itself squarely in the crosshairs. By all accounts, the new reimagining does precisely what it set out to do: follow the structure of the original practically beat for beat and scene for scene, but now with a shiny, live-action patina. Although newcomer Mason Thames steps in for Jay Baruchel as our new Hiccup, much of everything else remains more or less the same. Gerard Butler reprises his role as Hiccup's stubborn Viking father Stoick. Everybody's favorite giant cat-masquerading-as-a-dragon Toothless looks exactly like he did 15 years ago. And, of course, writer-director Dean DeBlois was brought back to do almost everything he already did with the 2010 animated film.

It was recently confirmed that Season 4 of Prime Video’s hit action-thriller Reacher will adapt Gone Tomorrow, the 13th installment in Lee Child’s bestselling Jack Reacher novel series; and now, a wave of new casting news has arrived.
According to Deadline, several actors have joined the upcoming season. Jay Baruchel (Fubar), Sydelle Noel (Glow), Indonesian singer-actress Agnez Mo (Pernikahan), Indonesian-French singer Anggun (Levitating), and Kevin Corrigan (Poker Face) have been cast as series regulars. Joining them in recurring guest roles are Kevin Weisman (Marvel’s Runaways), Marc Blucas (My Life with the Walter Boys), and Kathleen Robertson (The Expanse).
Prime Video's Reacher series has taken a nonlinear approach to Lee Child’s novels. Season 1 adapted Killing Floor, the first book in the series. Season 2 jumped ahead to the 11th book, Bad Luck and Trouble, while Season 3 tackled Persuader, the seventh entry, originally published in 2003.
In Season 3, Reacher finally settles an old score with Quinn,...

There is a particular torment in the collapse of worlds, when the carefully constructed walls between one’s public and private selves are reduced to rubble. Fubar returns for its second season not with a bang, but with the suffocating quiet of a shared cage.
After the violent revelation of their clandestine lives, the Brunner family and their associates are sealed together in a witness protection home, a purgatory of forced intimacy. Here, they perform a pantomime of domesticity while the specters of their true professions linger in every corner. At the center of this fragile ecosystem stands Luke Brunner, a figure carved from the granite of Cold War certainty, now adrift.
The season’s primary threat is not merely a new antagonist on the world stage; it is an echo from his own past, a debt coming due. A mission materializes, promising an escape from the prison of the home,...

Fubar star Travis Van Winkle is setting the record straight on claims made by artificial intelligence (AI). While some AI-generated "facts" about the actor are true, others are not, demonstrating how the accuracy of the technology still has a lot of room for improvement.
Van Winkle spent more than 12 minutes fielding one claim after another in a new video shared by Screen Rant. Kicking off the video, he confirms that he played the same character in both the Friday the 13th and Transformers franchises, though he debunked that he has a role in The Last Sharknado: It's About Time. He gets into many other claims made about him by AI, and the full video can be watched below.
One big bogus claim that was made is that Van Winkle prepared for his action scenes on Fubar by training with a former Navy Seal who also coahced Arnold Schwarzenegger when he was a bodybuilder.

Plot: As an ancient threat endangers both Vikings and dragons alike on the isle of Berk, the friendship between Hiccup, an inventive Viking, and Toothless, a Night Fury dragon, becomes the key to both species forging a new future together.
Review: There’s always plenty of debate whenever one of these live-action adaptations of a cartoon releases. No matter what filmmakers do, there’s always going to be a sect of people who disapprove. As proven by Lilo & Stitch, I am not one of those people, and simply want the cartoon translated to real life. That means there are going to be some changes because, let’s face it, cartoons don’t have to deal with logic in the same way. Which means I’m accepting of those kinds of changes. Just don’t completely replace a banger song with something drab and uninspired and not expect to get backlash.
