Bebel Gilberto prances around her hotel room in the charming new video for “Deixa.” The track appears on her upcoming album Agora, out August 21st via Pias Recordings.

Directed by Erik Sohlström, the clip features Gilberto at the Nomad Hotel in Los Angeles, applying makeup and eating decadent pastries while dressed in a striking pink sequined suit. Brazilian singer-songwriter Bebel Gilberto unveiled a mesmerizing new song, “Deixa,” that will appear on her first album in six years, Agora, out May 1st via Pias Recordings.

“Deixa” — which translates to “leave” in Portuguese — boasts a steady groove that anchors a dream-like drone of horns and periodic flourishes of chimes, bells and strings. Gilberto’s voice easily drifts over the production, but there’s often a sharp kick to her phrasing to counterbalance the engrossing instrumentals.

Rio 2 comes to theaters April 11th, 2014 and stars Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg, Leslie Mann, Jamie Foxx, Rodrigo Santoro, Jake T. Austin, Will i Am, Bebel Gilberto. The film is directed by Carlos Saldanha.

After taking just shy of $500m. around the world with 2011’s Rio, Blue Sky Studios will be back on the big screen next spring with the sequel, Rio 2.

With a release date already set for March/April 2014, Fox and Blue Sky Studios have announced the movie’s leading voice cast, with the major players from the original returning for more animated entertainment.

Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg, Jemaine Clement, will.i.am, Tracy Morgan, George Lopez, Leslie Mann, Rodrigo Santoro, Bebel Gilberto, Jake T. Austin, and Jamie Foxx are all reprising their roles from the original film.

And joining them will be a great new set of additions to the cast, headed up by Andy Garcia, Bruno Mars, Kristin Chenoweth, Rita Moreno, Amanda Stenberg, Rachel Crow, Pierce Gagnon, and Natalie Morales.

The starring voice cast of Twentieth Century Fox’s 2011 animated smash Rio is reuniting for the follow-up, Rio 2, and they are joined by a flock of top actors and musical talents new to the franchise. The film is now in production at Blue Sky Studios. Twentieth Century Fox’s international rollout begins March 20, 2014, followed by its domestic release on April 11, 2014.

Returning to Rio 2, a world rich with grandeur, character, color and music are Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg, Jemaine Clement, will.i.am, Tracy Morgan, George Lopez, Leslie Mann, Rodrigo Santoro, Brazilian singer Bebel Gilberto, Jake T. Austin, and Jamie Foxx.

Carlos Saldanha, who was inspired to create Rio based upon his experiences growing up in that city, is back as director, as are producers John C. Donkin and Bruce Anderson.

As Blu tries to fit in with his new neighbors, he worries he may lose Jewel and the kids to the call of the wild. Writer/director Carlos Saldanha will be back to helm the project which will open late March next year.

After directing or co-directing three wintry “Ice Age” movies and the metallic “Robots,” Carlos Saldanha was ready for a change.

“After a few of the cold and glacier movies, I was ready for something a little more tropical, a little warm,” he says during a promotional presentation earlier this year. “And more than that, it’s a very personal journey of mine. I am from Rio, from Brazil, and I always thought, ‘Why not make a movie with this amazing backdrop of a town?’ It’s such a photogenic city. The contrast is very great — like you have the mountains, you have the ocean, you have the concrete jungle, you have the real jungle. It’s like the music.”

We've been begging and pleading with our girlfriends to let us go to Rio de Janeiro, but something about the bounty of thongs and beaches has always thwarted our travel attempts. C'est la vie.

In lieu of a spontaneous vacation, though, the best we could get is the soundtrack to Blue Sky's "Rio," the upcoming animated film about a rare macaw (voiced by Jesse Eisenberg) who travels to South America to find his female counterpart and revitalize his dying species. Man, even the birds think about sex down there.

As you'd expect, the soundtrack leans heavy on the Brazilian theme, melding updated versions of classic songs with new tracks by R&B and pop superstars. Jamie Foxx and will.i.am's "Hot Wings (I Wanna Party)" should – intentionally or not – please any 8-year-old, with Foxx singing "I wanna fly just like a bird" before being reminded, "But you are a bird.

Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi joined Susan Sarandon, Dr. Tamer Seckin, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Eileen Guggenheim, Jill Flint, Aasif Mandvi and a host of other notable New Yorkers at the 3rd Annual Endometriosis Foundation of America Blossom Ball at The New York Public Library on March 18 to celebrate Endometriosis Awareness Month.

Hosts of the evening, Lakshmi and Dr. Seckin, co-founded the Endometriosis Foundation of America (Efa) as a result of a lifelong to advance and for endometriosis, a disease that affects one in ten women worldwide.

The red carpet event included a cocktail reception, seated dinner, live auction, speeches by notable attendees including Susan Sarandon, a special performance by Grammy-nominated Bebel Gilberto and dancing with music provided by DJ Pitch One.
