Jurek Becker was born on 30 September 1937 in Lódz, Lódzkie, Poland. He was a writer and actor, known for Liebling Kreuzberg (1986), Neuner (1990) and Jacob the Liar (1974). He died on 14 March 1997 in Sieseby, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.
