Bill Maher is not a fan of The View, even though he says he “loves” hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar. The Real Time host shared his thoughts on the long-running ABC daytime talk show on the latest episode of his Club Random podcast, where he spoke with guest Drew Barrymore. After Barrymore invited Maher on her own self-titled daytime talk show, the HBO star told her how he appeared on The View last year. “I’m friendly with some of the ladies on The View and I love them, but, like, that show’s a lot,” he said, per Fox News Digital. Barrymore shared that Behar was recently a guest on her show, to which Maher responded, “I love Joy,” before revealing it’s The View‘s talking points that he isn’t a fan of. “I love Whoopi and Joy, those are the two I really know,” he continued.

The White House has once again responded to criticism from The View, with host Joy Behar bearing the brunt of the new attack.
Trump’s FCC Chair, Brendan Carr, has recently warned that The View could be taken off the air.
After O’Donnell, a former host on The View, speculated that the show would be canceled, White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers responded, calling O’Donnell and Behar “irrelevant.”
“Rosie O’Donnell and ‘Joyless’ Behar are irrelevant losers with too much time on their hands, whining about a failing talk show while everyday Americans are working hard,” Rogers said. “Our country is better off with Rosie living abroad — and we can all hope ‘Joyless’ Behar will join her next!”
This time, however, Rosie O’Donnell is taking shots, too.
O’Donnell shared a lengthy statement on TikTok describing why she believed the 28-season talk show was next to be cancelled, citing “liberal bias” as a reason.

As The Late Show with Stephen Colbert continues its death row march, Rosie O’Donnell predicts her ABC alma mater The View will be given a similar sentence.
Following the Donald Trump administration’s recent warning that the roundtable talk show could be “the next to be pulled off air,” the 12x Emmy winner expressed her fears for the Barbara Walters creation in a post entitled ‘Silencing The View‘.
“You know what I just read today? ABC is ‘reviewing the liberal bias’ on The View. The View. The show with five women speaking [their] own opinions – That’s the threat now,” she started in the lengthy statement on TikTok. “They say they’re not canceling it— they’re just ‘reviewing the bias.’ Which is code for – we’re gonna cancel it we’re just trying to soften you up first.

While Donald Trump is still filling news conferences with predictions that the Jimmys, Fallon and Kimmel, will soon be fired, Rosie O’Donnell believes other entertainers should be looking over their shoulders first. The expat comedian claims The View could be the next show on the chopping block.

Rosie O’Donnell, who was a host on ABC’s “The View” from 2006 to 2007 and returned briefly in 2014, recently posted on TikTok that she is worried about the iconic daytime talk show being canceled amid unconfirmed rumors that ABC is reviewing “The View’s” alleged “liberal bias.” The White House put out a statement last month saying “The View” could be the “next to be pulled off the air” as Donald Trump celebrated CBS’ decision to cancel Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show” and called for Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon to get axed next.

It seems the Writers Guild of America has finally had enough of President Donald Trump’s ongoing attacks on independent media, and it seems CBS’s firing of Stephen Colbert was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
In the open letter signed by more than 2,300 members of the WGA, the WGA members express their growing concern over what they describe as “dangerous and escalating attacks on the First Amendment, independent media, and the free press.”
The letter appears to be a direct result of Paramount’s recent actions, taking aim at the $16 million settlement paid out following President Trump’s lawsuit against 60 Minutes. It then goes on to call into question Paramount’s decision to cancel The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, making it clear that they do not buy the network’s excuse for cancelling The Late Show noting, “And yet Paramount still asks us to...

President Donald Trump’s crusade against Hollywood’s most notable talk show hosts continues to wage on, and this time it’s a respected morning show host who has come under fire.
Taking to Truth Social, President Trump has taken aim at CBS Mornings host Gayle King and, as usual, he did not hold back. “Gayle King’s career is over,” Trump alleged, adding, “She should have stayed with her belief in Trump. She never had the courage to do so. No talent, no ratings, no strength!!!”
So what exactly prompted President Trump’s comments against King?
In calling King out on Truth Social, President Trump shared a recent article from New York Post which alleges that King’s future with CBS is up in the air amid declining ratings for CBS Mornings and cries from some that the show is too “woke.”

If you’ve ever watched The View, you know it’s never just polite conversation over coffee. The long-running daytime talk show thrives on bold opinions, clashing ideologies, and the kind of high-stakes debate that can turn a routine segment into a headline-making moment.
But while viewers might relish the drama, what happens when the tension becomes too much for the women at the table?
One co-host is pulling back the curtain on what it’s really like behind the scenes — and it’s more emotional than fans might expect.
Fireworks on the Set, Tears Behind the Scenes
The View has built its legacy on the sparks that fly when strong personalities collide. Whether it’s Whoopi Goldberg raising an eyebrow mid-rant or Joy Behar taking a firm stand, the show doesn’t shy away from friction. In fact, that friction is the very fuel that powers its ratings.

The View might be the number one daytime talk show on television, but some viewers are growing tired of the summer reruns, blasting them as ‘stale.’ Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Ana Navarro and the rest of The View staff are currently on summer break, with new episodes set to return in September. In the meantime, the long-running show is airing old episodes. However, some fans think rerunning past episodes doesn’t work when The View is such a topical show. Taking to The View Reddit forum, one user asked, “Should The View Even Air Repeats?” “The View is a very topical show. Viewers tune in to The View to see what the hosts will say about whatever everybody else is talking about,” the poster continued, noting that while “the hosts and production crew need time off,” other topical shows “would never air repeats weeks or months later.

President Donald Trump doesn't appear satisfied with just The Late Show with Stephen Colbert going off the airwaves. Now, he's turning his attention to another talk show after its host criticized the sitting president.
Paramount claims the decision to cancel The Late Show with Stephen Colbert after May 2026 was strictly a financial one. However, the optics suggest politics played a major role in ending the beloved late-night TV franchise. President Trump didn't do much to dispel that notion, posting on social media that he was happy to see Stephen Colbert get the boot and that the president hopes he played a role in the comedian's fate.
The View may be next on the chopping block if President Trump gets his way. The White House issued a statement to Entertainment Weekly that read in part, "[Joy Behar] should self-reflect on her own jealousy of President Trump’s historic popularity before her...

The attacks on TV shows don’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. The White House has released another statement criticizing a TV show, with the Trump Administration targeting South Park.
Following a statement from the White House about The View, following comments made by host Joy Behar, a statement has been released about the animated television series after President Donald Trump was depicted seducing Satan in bed.
“The left’s hypocrisy truly has no end — for years they have come after South Park for what they labeled as ‘offensive’ content, but suddenly they are praising the show,” White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers said in a statement. “Just like the creators of South Park, the left has no authentic or original content.”
“This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention.”
The episode was the season 27 premiere.

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr weighed in on ABC’s The View, after the Trump White House chided co-host Joy Behar for her biting criticism of the president this week.
Appearing on Fox News on Thursday morning, Carr was asked by anchor Bill Hemmer whether “The View is now in the crosshairs of this administration.”
“Look, it’s entirely possible that there’s issues over there. And stepping back, this broader dynamic, once President Trump has exposed these media gatekeepers and smashed this facade, there’s a lot of consequences. I think the consequences of that aren’t quite finished.”
Later, at a press conference following this month’s FCC meeting, Carr was asked what he meant by “consequences” to the show.
Carr said, “Well, look, I do think you see significant lower ratings. If you look at Colbert, the reporting from there was that they were losing $40 to $50 million a year.

The White House has released a scathing response to Wednesday’s Season 27 premiere of South Park, which portrayed President Trump as a whiny-voiced, flappy-headed, Satan-loving, small-membered dictator, before cutting to a deepfake “pro-Trump” PSA which featured a nude Potus equipped with tiny talking genitals.
In other words, the Comedy Central ‘toon is giving Trump the same treatment it gave Saddam Hussein in 1999’s South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut. Satan even alluded to Trump and Hussein’s similarities during Wednesday’s episode, telling Trump, “You remind me more and more of this other guy I used to date, like a lot.

White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers clapped back at The View by issuing a statement threatening to have the show pulled off the air.
The statement comes after Joy Behar, one of the show’s hosts, called President Donald Trump “jealous” of Barack Obama.
“The thing about him is he’s so jealous of Obama, because Obama is everything that he is not,” Behar said. “Trim, smart, handsome, happily married, and can sing Al Green’s song ‘Let’s Stay Together’ better than Al Green. And Trump cannot stand it. It’s driving him crazy.”

Social media is in a tizzy today as people are all talking about “The View” going on hiatus. Many wonder if it’s indefinite and if they will return.
The short answer is -they are returning.
“The View” takes a hiatus every year at this time. While it is a few days earlier than usual. For some reason people think this means it is not coming back.
Apparently, the misunderstanding has arisen with Joy Behar accidentally announcing the hiatus a day before it was to begin.
Here is what Joy said,
“Before we go on hiatus, we only have one more show after this, I’m allowed to say that, right?”
A producer responded with “Doesn’t really matter.”
The show normally takes off for August and returns on Labor Day. This year they added a few days at the end of July to the break, with the hiatus starting after the show tomorrow,...

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr said Thursday he was “pleased” with commitments from Skydance Media to reform CBS, as the agency nears a decision on the $8 billion Paramount merger.
Skydance submitted a letter this week pledging to hire an ombudsman to address complaints of media bias and to present “a diversity of viewpoints” on CBS news programming.
“They are committing to serious changes at CBS,” Carr said. “I think that would be a good thing.”
Carr, speaking at his monthly FCC press conference, did not give an update on the timing of approval of the Paramount-Skydance merger. Skydance has also committed to eliminating various initiatives on diversity, equity and inclusion — though Paramount previously rolled back many of its Dei programs in February.
Carr said both the anti-dei pledge and Skydance’s promise to hire a CBS ombudsman are “significant commitments” that will be considered as part of the merger approval process.

The Trump administration threatened on Wednesday — and doubled down on Thursday morning — that “The View” could be the next talk show to get cancelled after “The Late Show,” after host Joy Behar once again criticized the president, calling him jealous of Barack Obama. But, the ABC hosts appeared unfazed on Thursday morning, ignoring the threats altogether.
Following Wednesday’s show, the White House responded to one of the day’s Hot Topics in a statement calling Behar a “loser,” as they often dub critics, and warned that she “should self-reflect on her own jealousy of President Trump’s historic popularity before her show is the next to be pulled off air.”
The threat came just days after CBS announced the cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s “The Late Show,” with the insistence that the decision was economic, not politically motivated. Then, on Thursday morning, FCC chairman Brendan Carr responded on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom,...

FCC chairman Brendan Carr defended President Trump against fresh barbs from “The View” on Thursday and hinted it is “entirely possible” the long-running ABC show has some “issues” worth looking into.
Carr made the comment after being asked on Fox News if “The View” was now in his “crosshairs.” He was also shown a clip from Wednesday’s episode in which co-host Joy Behar said President Trump was “so jealous” of President Obama being “trim,” “smart,” “happily married” and able to croon Al Green tunes. The FCC chairman clearly did not agree with Behar.
“Look, it’s entirely possible that there’s issues over there. But again, stepping back [to view] this broader dynamic, once President Trump has exposed these media gatekeepers and smashed this facade, there’s a lot of consequences. I think the consequences of it aren’t quite finished,” Carr said.
He continued: “‘The View’s’ got a lot of challenges there.

Joy Behar shocked her The View cohosts when she seemingly unexpectedly let news slip about the show’s upcoming hiatus. She shared the news at the top of the Thursday, July 24, episode. “Before we go on hiatus, we only have one more show after this, I’m allowed to say that, right?” Behar asked, to which Alyssa Farah Griffin laughed and responded, “Too late now!” A producer chimed in from the background to add, “Doesn’t really matter.” A source confirmed to TV Insider that “the show will be on its annual summer hiatus” beginning next week. The View goes on summer break every year in August and returns after Labor Day. This year, the break will begin on Monday, July 28, which seems to be a few days earlier than usual. That means there will just be one more episode before The View is off the air for several weeks.

After CBS's divisive decision to cancel The Late Show With Stephen Colbert after the series was critical of the Trump administration, the US President's White House is threatening another long-standing institution in talk TV. The Late Show, which originated in 1977 on CBS, has been hosted by Colbert since 2015 after his popular political satire series, The Colbert Report, came to an end.

President Donald Trump’s administration isn’t just taking aim at late night hosts, as they’ve now turned their attention to daytime programming.
The White House had some strong words to say about The View co-host Joy Behar after she said Trump was “so jealous” of former President Barack Obama.
Behar’s comments were made during Wednesday’s episode of ABC’s daytime talk show, when the panel — consisting of Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin — was discussing Trump’s recent attack on his predecessor. During an earlier press conference, in an attempt to distract from questions about the Jeffrey Epstein files, Trump accused Obama of “treason” and his administration of trying to “steal” the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections.
In response, Obama spokesperson Patrick Rodenbush called Trump’s claims “outrageous,” “bizarre” and a “weak attempt at distraction.”
On The View, Behar also had some thoughts.

The White House lashed out at Joy Behar after she said on ABC’s The View that Donald Trump’s attacks on his predecessor, Barack Obama, were motivated by jealousy, while noting the current president’s role in the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
On Wednesday, Behar and the other View co-hosts talked about Obama’s response to Trump’s claim that his predecessor was guilty of treason. The Trump administration claims that Obama and his team conspired to alter intelligence assessments to boost the notion Russia was attempting to help Trump get elected in 2016.
Obama’s spokesperson called the allegations “bizarre” and a “weak attempt at distraction.”
On The View, Behar said, “First of all, who tried to overthrow the government on January 6th? Who was that again?”
Behar added, “The thing about him is he is so jealous of Obama, because Obama is everything that he is not.

The hosts of “The View” are among the many upset over CBS canceling “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” but on Tuesday morning, moderator Whoopi Goldberg was reticent about her true feelings on the matter. For now, anyways.
The ABC host discussed the cancellation to kick off the day’s Hot Topics, and for the most part, they agreed that while economics may have been a factor in ending the show, as CBS and Paramount insist was the sole decision-maker, “you cannot deny” that politics were also at play.
Host Joy Behar once again argued that comedians are imperative to a democracy, and should be allowed to say what they want, while Sunny Hostin picked apart the specific financials. But, when it came time for Goldberg’s input, she spoke simply.
“Colbert, we’re supporting you,” she said. “We got your back. I’m going to wait and see what — where it shakes it out.

No one is saying that it’s easy to be a crowd-pleasing comic. Finding that line can be brutal. Taking no risks makes you boring, taking too many will have you in the internet’s crosshairs. That’s not really a career ender these days, but it’s still not enjoyable.
Shane Gillis is someone who steps into controversy relatively often; he got fired from Saturday Night Live in 2019 for making racist and sexist jokes, and his vein of humor can sometimes be edgelord adjacent. I’m sure if more people watched Tires on Netflix, they’d be angry about it.
Gillis is still popular — he’s got the Netflix show, he’s a semi-regular host of SNL despite his firing, and this week he was the host of the ESPYs. His performance, both to the room of highly lauded athletes up for awards and the nation, caused a few dustups.

Comedian Shane Gillis was met with mixed reactions from the crowd as he hosted the ESPYs on Wednesday night, though he did make one move that “The View” host and former stand-up comedian Joy Behar didn’t appreciate.
Early on in his monologue, Gillis made a joke about Donald Trump’s desire to host a UFC fight at the White House, with the punchline being “the last time he staged a fight in D.C., Mike Pence almost died.” When the joke fell flat but got some scattered applause, Gillis told the crowd, “you don’t have to do that. Donald Trump‘s continued struggles to quash the conversations about Jeffrey Epstein and his administration’s handling of the so-called “Epstein Files” was once again the first “Hot Topic” of the day on Thursday’s (July 17) edition of The View. It’s very, very freaky, but a lot of his supporters are still convinced there is a cover-up happening. Of all of the threats facing the United States, global, economic and existential, why does President Donald Trump expend so much emotional energy on comedian Rosie O’Donnell?
Even though the comic currently resides overseas, Trump is rattling sabers in her direction on his personal social media platform. “Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,” he Posted, employing his Trademark brand of erratic word Capitalization.
While O’Donnell is defiantly critical of Trump on her own social media channels, the roots of their feud weren’t planted in this presidential term — or his last. The bad feelings date back to 2006, according to Variety, when O’Donnell roasted Trump on an episode of The View.
Well before Trump ran for public office, he indulged in a variety of business ventures, including ownership of the Miss USA pageant.

After pointing out that there were reports of undocumented immigrants working for Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago when he was first running for president, she insisted what’s going on at “Alligator Alcatraz” is “horrible.” “If you are out there in the Everglades, driving out there and getting out of your car to take a picture [of ‘Alligator Alcatraz’] as if it was the Eiffel Tower, you are a racist and you are a horrible human being,” Navarro said. Anthony Anderson’s beloved mama Doris celebrates her 72nd birthday this week, and she had a list of requests to ring it in in style. Apparently, that included taking over ABC for a bit, and rebranding each of their shows.
To kick off his final guest monologue on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Thursday night, Anderson explained that his mother sent an email to the producers of the show with a series of requests to make the day special. “And I swear to God, all of this is true,” he prefaced, before reading through her demands.
“It says tiara and birthday sash with her name, uh huh. Balloons,” Anderson listed. “Six ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ hats, a picture of her hung on the wall, strawberry and lemon cake. It’s unclear if she was asking for two separate cakes or a combo of flavors. Cheetos, Doritos and watermelon.”

The View has been home to an array of fights and disagreements over the years, but this morning, the ladies of the hit ABC daytime talk show made an admission: backstage, there is also crying! The revelation came when the ladies were discussing a recent Vice study about how Gen Z struggles with high levels of stress and anxiety, so they deal with it by using restrooms as a safe space.
Completely mocking the concept of "bathroom camping," Whoopi Goldberg asked the ladies if they had their own safe space. "I don't need a safe space. I'm my own safe space," the moderator revealed. As the conversation continued, Alyssa Farrah Griffin shared, "I cry at work, but I hide it," laughing her way through the admission that she's cried at least half a dozen times. She even related it to The Simpsons meme of Bart and Milhouse in a cave...
