It’s been a wild ride for “Scavengers Reign,” the critically acclaimed adult animated sci-fi series, which was canceled by Max in May and got a second chance at Netflix on May 31, where it solidified its cult standing just in time for Emmy voters to make it the dark horse in the Outstanding Animated Program race. However, we’ll have to see if it’s enough to greenlight a Season 2 from creators Joseph Bennett and Charles Huettner.

But then the whole point of “Scavengers Reign” was to break free from every other adult animated series. It’s a mind-bending sci-fi adventure about a deep space freighter crew stranded on the beautiful yet deadly alien planet, Vesta, whose intertwining ecosystems of exotic flora and fauna pull them into the organic machinery alongside the imaginative creatures.

Fans may call Max crazy for canceling one of the best animated sci-fi shows of 2023, Scavengers Reign, after its first season. However, the streamer has made one possibility for the series to continue with a second season. Max has made a non-exclusive deal with Netflix to stream the show in the US, UK, Ireland, and New Zealand. And if the show proves to be a success at Netflix, Scavengers Reign might get picked for a Season 2 at its new home.

The fans of the series are doing everything in their capacity to keep the series alive as they took to social media to vehemently promote the series, urging everyone to watch it on Netflix. Hopefully, fans could get to see more of the visually stunning show.

Prime Video will stream The Victoria’s Secret World Tour fashion show special on September 26 as part of an expansion of the collaboration between Amazon and Victoria’s Secret.

This is a good week to be a horror fan who collects home media, because we have some killer releases headed our way on Tuesday. Personally, I’ve been waiting ever so patiently for Scream Factory’s Collector’s Edition release of Paul W.S. Anderson’s Event Horizon, and my patience is finally going to pay off tomorrow, as not only are we getting a 4K scan of the film, but the Blu is also chock-full of special features I cannot wait to dig into. Scream Factory is also giving Julia Ducournau’s Raw a stateside Blu-ray release finally, and Arrow Video is showing some love to Patrick Picard’s The Bloodhound this week as well.
