HBO's hit series The Last of Us has released a new trailer along with a release date for the upcoming Season 2. With the original series premiering almost two years ago in January 2023, viewers have patiently waited for any and all news regarding the second season, which is set to adapt the second video game, The Last of Us Part II. Now, a brief new teaser trailer has given us a new look at the upcoming series and the official release date, April 2025.
The Last of Us Part II was a game plagued by controversial discourse regarding its subject matter and characters, primarily due to story leaks after a hacker broke into the servers of Naughty Dog, the video game company that created the series. Many of the story choices in the video game have been heavily discussed to this day, making the upcoming second season, which will adapt it, all the more interesting.

Season 2 of The Last of Us, starring Pedro Pascal, is currently set to premiere in Spring 2025. This could mean that production on Season 3 may begin shortly after the final episode of Season 2 airs on HBO next year.

HBO's The Last of Us introduced us to a completely distinct kind of zombie story, explaining the root cause of the outbreak at the very beginning. Starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, the series takes place twenty years after a fungus infection turns the majority of the world's population into zombies. Joel Miller, who helps out the resistance, the Fireflies, in exchange for certain favors, comes across a teenage girl named Ellie, whom he must accompany beyond the city. However, she just might be holding the key to ending the pandemic once and for all.
Whether you're a dedicated fan of the original games or a newcomer to the HBO series, the origin of the infection can feel elusive since the details mostly unfold in the background. While the show slowly unravels the mystery with each episode, some parts of the Cordyceps Infection remain difficult to understand. So, how exactly...

Fans excited about the upcoming God of War television series will seemingly have to wait a little longer as the series is undergoing major changes behind the scenes and starting over from scratch. News of a television series broke in March 2022, and while things were originally moving smoothly, the series has hit a major speed bump.
According to Deadline, showrunner/executive producer Rafe Judkins and executive producers Hawk Ostby and Mark Fergus turned in multiple scripts for God of War before exiting the series. Even though sources told Deadline that Sony Pictures TV and Amazon MGM Studios were happy with the scripts turned in, they are looking to move the series in a new creative direction. Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann have confirmed that Season 2 of The Last of Us will feature similar changes to the source material as Season 1. The first season of HBO's hit adaptation was adored by critics and general audiences, as well as fans of the video games. The series ripped entire scenes and sequences right out of Naughty Dog Studio's beloved franchise of the same name, and has been called one of the most faithful video game adaptations so far. Surprisingly, Season 1 received even more praise for the changes it made to the source material. Though it didn't cut major characters or needlessly alter character details, Season 1 took underdeveloped characters from the video game and gave them a new life on TV. According to Mazin and Druckmann, Season 2 will do exactly the same.

Sorry everyone, but your daymares of living in the world of The Last of Us probably won't come true anytime soon, as a microbiologist has debunked the "science" that made the show's zombie virus happen. Unlike other zombie-centric movies and shows, which either see the dead rising out of graves or various different diseases giving dead people a hunger for brains, The Last of Us takes a naturopathic approach to its outbreak. Cordyceps, a real fungus, has mutated and can now infect humans, turning them into biting corpses, and eventually, the dreaded clickers (after their entire bodies have become entrenched in fungus).
Speaking to Wired, microbiologist Dan Buckley was asked about the zombie virus in The Last of Us and explained how a zombie virus could actually happen. While cordyceps exists in real life, the chances of it ever infecting humans are almost impossible. "The clickers that you saw where...

Josh Hartnett was the only choice for Cooper in Trap. M. Night Shyamalan, who wrote and directed the upcoming horror-thriller movie, recently shared when he knew Hartnett was the perfect actor for the lead role.
In the weeks leading up to Trap's Aug. 2 release, Shyamalan has been sharing "fun facts" about his latest movie on X. He previously revealed that Trap was the fastest script he has ever written, at five and a half months, beating the six months it took to write Signs. More recently, he shared how a set visit from Hartnett ultimately landed the actor the lead role in Trap. "When I was thinking about casting the lead of Trap, Josh Hartnett came to visit me in Ireland where I was producing The Watchers," he wrote on X. "We had lunch, we talked about Oppenheimer, Black Mirror, living outside of Hollywood, and being dads of three girls each.

"I'm trying to help them, but it's like a brick wall." Netflix has debuted a trailer for an upbeat dance comedy titled Feel the Beat, from director Elissa Down. Of all the voices in horror that have sprung up in the 2000s, Edward “Lucky” McKee is probably my favorite. His films are so uniquely his own in the way that they combine strong character work, dreamlike visuals, dark humor, pop music, and a specific attention to female protagonists and relationships; it’s an alchemy that’s hard to pinpoint, but which has a direct line to my brain and affects me in the way no one else’s work does. Both May and The Woman are, in my opinion, two of the best horror movies of the last 20 years and films no one else could have made. The same can be said of “Sick Girl,” his entry for Season 1 of Masters of Horror. While he’s the greenest of all the Masters thus far, his episode is also the purest extension of an authorial voice in the whole series.

The Woman will be available on DVD/Blu-ray and VOD January 24, 2012. The Woman is gruesome horror with uncomfortably vicious themes wrapped in a nonchalant commentary about keeping the ‘little woman’ under control. This is a film you will want to add to your DVD collection and will most likely make my best horror movies of 2011 list. The Woman is directed and written by Lucky McKee (May, Red) and stars Carlee Baker (Wicked Lake), Shana Barry (Getting’ It), Marcia Bennett (Red), Angela Bettis (Carrie, May), and Sean Bridgers (Deadwood).

Director Lucky McKee brings Pollyanna McIntosh's wild river native from Offspring back to the big screen in The Woman
This Halloween is pretty lean in terms of new theatrical fare for horror fans to partake in. Thankfully, there is director Lucky McKee's latest offering The Woman, an original tale co-written by famed author Jack Ketchum. Together, they have conjured one of the funniest, most shocking thrillers of the year. And it's a must see for any lover of the genre.
Pollyanna McIntosh stars as the lone survivor of a sadistic cult, left to roam the wilds on her own. When a country lawyer (Sean Bridgers) captures her and chains her in a shed, the results are nothing short of gut wrenching, and often times, very hilarious. Its this fine mix of themes and tone that make The Woman a gleefully grungy can't-miss Halloween endeavor.

The Woman has generated some controversy based on its misogynistic tones and scenes of torture. Early reviews from major news sources have called the film "an hour and a half of brutal misogyny" (Reporter) and "devoid of wit, flair and thematic focus" (Variety). However, most critics agree that the film is out to shock and there is often an audience for films that will push boundaries. The Woman will premiere in the United Kingdom August 27th and North America October 14th.
Part of the premise for The Woman is this focus on a feral person captured in the wild. Strangely, this is not an uncommon occurrence, with hundreds of stories of feral people being found in jungles and forests locally and abroad. Recently, there was a report of a Cambodian woman found malnourished and partially naked in Rattanakiri Prov. (2007). Her speech was imparied and her ability to socialize was diminished.

Bloody Disgusting Selects have released the official Us poster for The Woman.
Directed by Lucky McKee (The Woods), The Woman stars Carlee Baker, Shana Barry, Marcia Bennett, Angela Bettis, Sean Bridgers and Lauren Ashley Carter.
The Woman is the last surviving member of a feral clan that has roamed the Northeast Coast for decades. When the last of her family is killed in a battle with the police, The Woman finds herself alone, severely wounded and vulnerable. Unfortunately, she is now a far too easy prey for local hunter, successful country lawyer and seriously disturbed family man Christopher Cleek. With his twisted set of ideals, Cleek decides to embark upon a deranged project – to capture her and “break” The Woman – a decision that will soon threaten the lives of Cleek, his family and The Woman.
The Woman premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year to rave reviews, and will receive its U.
