Though Gizmo was indeed as cuddly as E.T., "Gremlins" was not, as it famously became one of two horror-infused Spielberg productions that year (the other being "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom") which helped usher in the PG-13 rating, allowing for films that were more intense than a PG but not quite as adult as an R.

In November, it was reported that Coyote vs. Acme had been scrapped by Warner Bros. Discovery. As was the case with Batgirl, this was despite the film having been completed, and it was even reportedly testing well with audiences. After an outcry over the news, the studio reversed course by allowing the filmmakers to shop the film around to find a new distributor. While no news has yet been announced of another studio or streamer picking up the movie, voice actor Eric Bauza hinted that Coyote vs. Acme will arrive in 2024, sharing a screenshot on X from the film along with the message, "See ya in 2024!!" Warner Bro. revealed that they have partnered with Gfm Animation to create the first-ever fully-animated feature-length Looney Tunes film for theatrical release.

In an interview with Variety, Warner Bros. stated that the film, titled The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, will be available for worldwide sales at the American Film Market in October and November of this year. They will also be sharing some first-look footage of the sci-fi comedy film, which was directed by executive producer Pete Browngardt and features Daffy Duck and Porky Pig in starring roles as they attempt to save Earth from an alien invasion. A first look image has also been revealed, which can be seen above.

But there's one somewhat minor player in the franchise who's gone through perhaps the most radical changes overall.

Granny was introduced as a fairly straightforward character in the original Looney Tunes shorts, only to undergo a surprising evolution in the 21st century. Now recast as a far more capable character in modern adaptations, Granny has found a place at the heart of Acme Looniversity in Tiny Toons Looniversity. Notably, the show finds a way to meld her sweet side with the more proactive elements that have been increasingly afforded to the character.

Bugs Bunny is back for another school year at Acme Looniversity. Cartoon Network has released a new clip from the upcoming series Tiny Toons Looniversity, which also features Tiny Toons star Buster Bunny. Tiny Toons Looniversity is set to premiere on Cartoon Network on Saturday, September 9. In the clip, Buster Bunny (Eric Bauza) is excited at the thought of being mentored by Bugs Bunny (Jeff Bergman). However, when Bugs then tells Buster that he will actually be mentored by a character named Merlin the Magic Mouse, he's devastated. Merlin then dramatically introduces himself to Buster, but unlike the other Looney Tunes characters, Buster doesn't recognize him. After introducing Buster to his new mentor, Bugs quickly leaves the classroom.

Bugs Bunny in his current form has existed since 1940, becoming one of the 20th century's most iconic creations. The Looney Tunes star was originally voiced by the legendary Mel Blanc. Following his death in 1989, the roles were taken over in part by Jeff Bergman, who has subsequently played Bugs (and a host of the other iconic Looney Tunes characters) for decades. The importance of carrying on that legacy isn't lost on Bergman as both a fan and a part of the production.

At San Diego Comic-Con, Max unveiled the all-new theme song for Tiny Toons Looniversity, a reboot of the beloved 90s cartoon Tiny Toon Adventures.

Announced back in 2020, Tiny Toons Looniversity will finally be released on Cartoon Network and Max this fall. The show brings back all of the original show's memorable characters, though it's not exactly a revival, as some changes have been made to the characters, notably with Buster and Babs now depicted as twin siblings rather than best friends. However, the new theme song unveiled by Max at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday will be familiar, as it's a revamped version of the original theme for Tiny Toon Adventures. The legendary “Looney Tunes” character’s current voice actor, Eric Bauza, won the award for “Outstanding Voice Performance in an Animated Program” at the 2022 Children’s & Family Emmys over the weekend.

The Filipino Canadian actor was not only recognized for his work as Bugs, who just celebrated 80 years, but also for portraying Marvin the Martian, Daffy Duck and Tweety in HBO Max’s “Looney Tunes Cartoons” series.

Bauza, 43, began his acceptance speech by honouring the man of 1,000 voices a.k.a. Mel Blanc, who was the original Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and more on the O.G. “Looney Tunes Merrie Melodies” shorts during the Golden Age of Animation.

A new meme claiming that the father in the cartoon "The Jetsons" was indeed born on July 31 has been circulating online, and while the actual show never reveals his birthday, the show first aired in 1962 and was set 100 years in the future. Jetson reveals he is 40 in the first season, meaning that he would have been born in 2022.

The idea that he was born on July 31 came from a tweet posted by Brendan Kergin on July 28. The tweet included a photo of a chart of information from a fan website that listed Jetson's birthday as the 31st. "I don't mean to alarm anyone, but someone is about to give birth to George Jetson," Kergin wrote.

Warner Bros., Cartoon Network and HBO Max announced the debut of new Looney Tunes show “Bugs Bunny Builders” with a trailer release on Tuesday morning.

The first Looney Tunes preschool show in over 20 years and first-ever education series to feature the Looney Tunes premieres Monday, July 25 at 8 a.m. Et/Pt on Cartoonito on Cartoon Network and Tuesday, July 26 on Cartoonito on HBO Max. The series will also premiere globally beginning July 26.

Shortly after the premiere of the official trailer for Space Jam: A New Legacy, it was revealed that Emmy-winning actress Zendaya has joined the sequel as the voice of Lola Bunny. In the original Space Jam, the cartoon rabbit was voiced by Kath Soucie, and it had been expected that Soucie would reprise the role for the sequel. Now, it's been revealed that Zendaya has officially been cast as the new voice of Lola.

In addition to a new voice, fans will notice from the Space Jam 2 trailer that Lola has also been given a visual makeover, looking more family-friendly compared to her appearance in the first movie. This is the result of director Malcolm D. Lee's decision to make the character less "sexualized" in the sequel after watching the first Space Jam.

First reported by Entertainment Weekly, the news follows this morning’s unveiling of the film’s first official trailer.

“@Zendaya is joining @kingjames and the #TuneSquad as the voice of #LolaBunny in @SpaceJamMovie!” the publication tweeted, with the film’s official Twitter page tweeting welcoming Zendaya to “the Jam.”
