- Ken Billington was born on December 29, 1946 in White Plains, New York, USA. He is known for Broadway! A Special Salute (1982), American Playhouse (1980) and Great Performances (1971).
- Won Broadway's 1997 Tony Award as Best Lighting Designer for a revival of "Chicago." He had previously been nominated five times in the same category: in 1974 for a revival of "The Visit," in 1978 for "Working," in 1979 for "Sweeney Todd," in 1983 for "Foxfire" and in 1984 for "End of the World."

- He was awarded the 1998 Back Stage Garland Award for Outstanding Lighting Design for "Chicago" at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
- He and Brian Monahan were nominated for a 2006 Antoinette Perry (Tony) Award for Best Lighting Design for a Musical for "The Drowsy Chaperone" on Broadway in New York City.
