Hemant Birje gets beaten up by his friends
Hemant Birje
Hemant Birje, best known for his portrayal of Tarzan, was beaten up by two of his friends yesterday night following an altercation. The incident occurred in Andheri and both the accused and Birje were drunk. While Birje says that he was attacked and hit with bamboo sticks on his head because he couldn't attend the wedding of one of his friend's niece, the accused have a different story to tell. Birje's friends Kishore Saproo and Phasi Rehman (who have been arrested following the incident) told the cops that it was Birje who initially punched them demanding for more alcohol. Following the incident, Birje was rushed to a nearby hospital and discharged after preliminary treatment.
