‘Eddington’ Actor Matt Gomez Hidaka Joins ‘Send a Scare’ From ‘Chronicle’ Director

Actor Matt Gomez Hidaka, who appears in Ari Aster’s Eddington, has joined the cast of horror thriller Send a Scare, Deadline reports today.

The actor joins previously announced cast members Victoria Justice (“Victorious,” Fun Size) and Robbie Amell (The Babysitter, “The Flash”).

Josh Trank (Chronicle, Fantastic Four) is set to direct from a script he co-wrote with Andrew Ryan.

The film centers on an interactive horror startup that gives thrill-seekers a way to send scares to friends and family… but when potential investors host a demonstration, the experience gets hijacked by a real masked killer with a deadly agenda.

Karan Soni (Deadpool), Noel Fisher (“Shameless”), Mackinlee Waddell (“Gcb”), and Adain Bradley (Tarot) are also attached.

Ryan Scaringe of Kinogo Pictures and Austin Lantero of Range Media Partners will produce. Steven Schneider (Paranormal Activity, Insidious) is set to executive produce alongside Trank, Ryan, Justice, Amell, and Amy Lippens.

Woe betide anyone who stumbles across the Harley Quinn Valentine’s Day Special without any prior knowledge of the animated TV series, because it’s safe to say they’d be in for something of a shock. As DC superheroes Hawkman and Hawkgirl, in a brief cameo, Williams and Brunson explain how they fell in love in the upcoming special, titled Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special. Per the logline, the special “will feature Harley and Ivy celebrating their very first Valentine’s Day together, while also revealing how the rest of the ragtag crew spends the gushiest, mushiest, most romantic day of the year.”

Titled “Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special,” the new installment of the popular adult animated series will debut on HBO Max in February 2023.

Per the official logline, “The special will feature Harley and Ivy celebrating their very first Valentine’s Day together, while also revealing how the rest of the ragtag crew spends the gushiest, mushiest, most romantic day of the year.”

“Harley Quinn” recently concluded its third season, with HBO Max commissioning a fourth season in August. It was one of the DC projects that survived the Warner Bros.-Discovery merger, in which a number of planned DC related films and shows were scrapped.
